This ia a great one. The gameplay is fun, presentation is on point. I actually found a bug, if you jump at the right timing you can roll botth dice, but it's not critical. Very good game!
Very similar to our idea, just much better in the way it actually handles gameplay. This is a submission that I see being in the top 20. Great job.
Can you please PLEASE share the music somewhere? I want to listen to it for at least 4 hours. Please.
Really well executed concept and I love how cohesive the game art looks. Great work!
Very well-polished! At first I didn't know I could re-roll if I didn't get an action I wanted and was a little disappointed that I healed myself at full HP several times in a row, but once I figured out that I could re-roll my action I had a good time! Great work.
very good game. a little too random, you could've at least made the visits to the merchant or the blacksmith more consistent and not dictated by the roll of the dice (like every 10 tiles or so). very challenging but still fun. great job.
I really feel the infuriating Dark Souls vibe here with the twist of randomness. This is a good game but oh so so frustrating. Nice work overall and very neat work on the music and graphics
Good game!
I really enjoyed the visuals with this one!
The visuals, music and the concept I really like and I had a lot of fun to begin with, in execution I think it's a game that really needs a lot of fine tuning because the degree of randomness is too much for the game to feel fair. When you enter a fight and get a string of 1s and 2s it feels impossible to play or even engage with the rerolling mechanic, I think with some dice favouring larger values or at least preventing large strings of bad rolls it could be an excellent game.
Impressive for a 48h jam, definilty, I can see you are experienced with this! Gameplay is sometimes a bit tedious because of the randomness, that first healer took me ages to kill haha!
Really good job though, theme is fits perfecty, definitly one of the top 100 contenders!
Very fun game! I really liked the art and teh gameplay was very good and fun:)
Pure awesomeness. Looks great, feels great, nice replayability. Love it. Like changing my dice, like being able to upgrade. This game kind of really puts creating a game into a different perspective for me. Really, all 5s.
Found that I could quickly jump to reset the first die in combat. Furthermore, with the healers I could just heal fully back to life and build up some stats to continue my journey.
Just a great package for a 48hour Jam. Good visuals and sound design. Mechanics were simple to understand but engaging enough to want to play. My personal favourite was the re-roll at expense of 1 value: it gave some strategy to what would have otherwise been purely RNG battles.
If you revisit this, I would add more mechanics like this to reduce the absolute randomness. It didn't feel great to lose to the Boss because I couldn't roll Attack (with enough value) twice in a row to kill that pesky healer. Still this is a minor gripe.
I will be very surprised if this doesn't appear in the GMTK roundup.
Visuals were amazing! While the enemies were fun to discover and fight, it became a bit tedious and I found myself spamming Z to reroll whenever it was a bad number hoping I'd get a better attack. Overall, super cool game! :)
Well :
1. The "upgrade sword" from the shop didn't do anything for me
2. I don't know if that was intended but you can actually roll the dice twice just by pressing Z quickly after the first one if the result is in your disadventage
3. Even with this cheat I've found I couldn't beat the boss this should tell a lot about the difficulty of the game
4. Hire me as a damn game tester I am so good at this ! :p
Anyway I enjoyed the game especially the simple controls
Such a fun and complete game for a 48h jam. The concept itself is really simple (rerolling a dice) but the polish and design is on point. The only thing I'm not so fan of are the healer enemies, they heal so much (and if you're not lucky with the shop rolls then you're gonna have some trouble dealing with them). But overall, it's a great game, congratulations!
The visual presentation and sound design tied together so well for an atmospheric experience. Everything looked and felt super polished. Really impressive game!
A very enjoyable game with an amazing atmosphere! The dice element felt perfectly incorporated into the game as you had to make choices around your rolls. Engaging gameplay and art!
Taking an idea of dice rolling and creating a whole combat, defense, healing, shop AND rerolling system around it. I would have never been able to think of this up in 48 hours, amazing job!
Very polished graphics, loved the transition wipe at the beginning. In my opinion, the priest healer enemy had too much HP, which made him kind of repetitive to take down. I liked where you took the dice rolling theme. :)
