It's an interesting idea and use of the theme, I took some time to realize "oh! I can put my attacks with the enemy ones, that way some dice rolls will not be that bad!" and that was a very funny moment hahaha

Developer

Hahaha thanks!

It's so cool that the sound effects were made using real dice!! I also dig the music. The art is also very charming and the mechanic of shelving cards to get run on the dice roll is a fun way to tie the game into the theme. The pixel art not being pixel perfect works surprisingly well with the rest of the game. Perhaps due to the very limited color palette? Unfortunately, I did get stuck upon reaching level 2 as it would not accept any positions I had the cards in. :p  Overall, well done!

Developer

Thank you for playing and sorry you got stuck! This is a common bug we're aware of but weren't able to fix before the jam ended.

Really reminds me of betting in roulette and hoping for a good outcome, but I like that you can influence it a bit. However I encountered a bug I think where you can put cards behind the characters, which eat your input keeping you from picking the card up again forcing me to restart. Still, really creative and fun!

Developer

Thanks for the bug report! That's super valuable. Glad you liked it despite the glitches!

I really like the concept! The art and mechanics are excellently incorporated!

Developer

Appreciated!

The art reminded my of Baba is You, super cute! I really liked the idea! I had fun playing through the fights and thinking my strategy.

Developer

Really glad you had fun!

Super cool game with simple but effective visuals. The controls could maybe use a bit of work, when dropping a card it would pick up another card. The idea was pretty cool and fun to play. Great job!

Developer

Thank you! Yeah the controls/ui can be pretty jank haha.

Haha, super cool that we had very similar ideas, and I love your visuals! I did have some issues with your drag and drop though—eventually running into a bug where it wouldn't allow to me to "Click to Roll" at all. I tried dragging them all off and back on multiple times to no avail :|

Developer(+1)

We're aware of this bug it's kinda the bane of our lives right now :( Sorry you ran into it, it's top of the list to fix post-jam. Thanks for the review!

Loved visuals.Good job!

by the way could you play and rate my game?

Developer

Of course!

Really cute game with cool graphics and a kicka** soundtrack :)

Thought the mechanic was clever; balancing the randomness with a bit of strategy in the stacking.

The drag-drop was a bit twitchy for me; but I managed to get things working and have fun!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the review! Yeah haha the drag and drop is top of the list of things to fix post-jam. 11/10 username btw.

Your game looks really cool and good job on it!  But I wasn't able to play since it wasn't  supported in any of the (3) browsers I tried.

I got a message of: "Your browser does not support graphics API "WebGL 2" which is required for this content."

Developer

Damn, sorry, this is the first we've heard of this. May we ask what browsers you tried and what OS you're using? So we can try and find out what happened and fix it post-jam. If you use Windows there is a downloadable version of the game.

Thanks for telling us this though, it's really important to know.

I love how you incorporated RNG with predictablity. It kind of reminds me of settlers of catan where each die roll would make a certain event happen. I had tons of fun. Great game!

Developer

That means a lot! Thank you!

This is great! I love how you've balanced the game - our idea is similar but we ran out of time to get the balance right. Doubly impressive since it's been achieved under time pressure and covid! :)

Developer

The balancing was very much a last minute thing so we're extremely happy to hear it worked out well. Thank you so much for the kind words! We're definitely checking yours out next.

Cool music selected. I played few games like this, but this one nails the concept and has almost no problem. Fun optimization game.

Oh, and You probably use black mode in itch or something. But if You have white... then well... Your cover art are just two spirals:P

Developer

Hahaha thanks for pointing that out, I have darkmode for everything

Cool idea! It's exciting to put all eggs in the same basket then pray for luck XD

Developer(+1)

It's a legitimate strategy!

Very clever mechanics! Loved it!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We're glad you enjoyed it.

I like the strategy involved with this game (as well as the art!). Might want to adjust each side's health a little bit though, since it felt like I was slowly chipping away at it much of the time. Could possibly add more visual effects with each attack to keep the player engaged, also. Hope to see this idea be expanded upon and looking forward to any post-jam updates!

Developer

Better balancing and more animations are high on the list for post-jam updates! Thank you for playing and the valuable feedback.

I love the concept!

It took me a bit to understand and get the hang of it, but once it clicked with I had lots of fun!

Sometimes the cards wouldn't snap well or get all messed up, but it is definitely something that can get polished if you ever expand upon the idea.

Personally I found the hit sound effect very obnoxious

Overall an incredible game! Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback, on the sound effect especially! That's not something we've heard much about yet so it's really valuable.

This game is amazing, I love the art and the mechanic of putting together a fight sequence based on a dice really adds complexity and strategy to the game.

Overall, amazing game!

Developer

Thanks so much for playing!

Submitted(+1)

I really love this idea! I feel like it could be taken really far and I hope you do! Great job for making this game!

Developer

Thank for the kind words! We are also excited to take it further post-jam.

Really unique idea, I loved trying to distribute these in a way that made sense to me (100% on the 'put all attacks on one roll and hope for a good roll' strategy!)

Some limited way to influence the outcome would help give the player a stronger sense of control, as the outcome is ultimately outside your player's hands.

Developer

It's a valid strategy!!!

More ways to influence the outcome were planned but had to be cut due to time. Post-jam they will absolutely be included. Thanks so much for the feedback!
