How does your game fit the theme?
Every wave, the player's stats get randomised. However, the player can take a chance by spending score to influence the randomiser, at the cost of a harder wave next round. It's a gamble!

I love me a good bullet hell shoot 'em up, and this definitely feels like one! Controls were solid and it felt pretty satisfying to mow down rows of enemies in seconds.

I get this is RNG based, but that is it's on thing and this doesn't really seem to fit the theme. There's definitely better ways to implement that, like getting randomised upgrades depending on what number you roll or something like that. I also didn't like how it was near impossible to dodge projectiles simply because there way too many on screen at once.

Overall, it's an interesting concept with potential for further development. Hope you keep going with it after the jam!

I found the controls felt good but it was a bit hard to actually dodge the bullets, although i found it quite possible to just face tank them (as long as i didnt tank too many) to get through the levels.

I tried spending a bunch of score to buy upgrades really early on and barely survived but from that point on i didnt have anything to spend on so waves were pretty easy until the last one. One thing I would suggest is to make the upgrades a bit more interesting than minor number changes but i understand that could have just been a time constraint.

If you worked a bit on presentation and balancing it out a bit I think this could be a pretty nice game haha

As a big fan of old Shoot 'em up games, this one is very enjoyable.
Playing this reminds me a lot of the old 'Raiden' games, the controls were smooth and the ship design were amazing. Would be very interested in seeing this further developed with more enemies, different weapons and stats. Congrats on finishing the jam !

well, i don't think anything that have rng fit the theme, it need to be dice

i rate creativity 2 star, because i can't rate theme(if i can, i will rate 1 star theme and 4 star creativity)

Really nice way to manage the difficulty curve!

Really creative idea, could be interesting with some balancing as you can max your hp and fire rate after just two waves and the game becomes too easy. Feels good to play though

This was a fun but difficult game! One small bug I found was that when a new level started, the bullets fired from the previous level will remain. Not sure if it was a bug or feature though.

Would love if you can check out my game too. Thanks!

Developer

It’s currently a bug! I might fix it later :D

Thanks for playing!

Game looks and plays nicely. there's a lotta juice to it, both with visuals and sound effects. Stats getting randomized and player having to either accepting whatever they are given and working around that or trying to change it and risking a more difficult wave could be an interesting mechanic if you can implement it in the future.

Nice polish and game feel, won't talk about balancing as apparently everyone else already pointed that out.

Like you said it's unbalance but it's still really fun. I like all 3 enemy types especially the boss. Would be cool to see this game expanded with more enemy types and more balanced levels. Good job.

Did a great job progmming this game, even thought the time was very limited. Im trying to wait for an updated version, good luck until then ^^

Fun game

the enemy design was great!
i would like to have a smaller hitbox.

Great! Seems like the "points left" counter doesn't update until you start to spend points, and sometimes a wave ends even though there are still leftover enemies. But overall, good job!

Good job on the submission! I would have loved to see the theme incorporated a bit more such as maybe a dice drops and you pick it up and that's how you get your random stat buffs instead of pumping them all in at once. Thats just my two cents. Overall great job

Even though the game is unfinished, this could be a great casual game if you make the point system balanced. Here's a few ideas:

- Maybe you could make the level vertical so you can spread the enemies out way more (spending points could make the level longer so it becomes harder)

- Maybe you could make it so that the player can also earn points during the game instead of having a fixed amount.

- Currently there's not really a reason to not spend all of your points (but there could be a ton of ways to fix this)

Again, cool project and good job!

Cool game, controls pretty well. Didn't really notice the theming tho, and way too easy to make the enemies out of control by the second wave.

Submitted(+1)

That was fun, maybe a bit more easier start as I was bit overwhelmed at first with the amount of projectiles but the idea is good :)

Fun to play! I somehow maxed everything in second wave and just stood on one spot waiting for them to get to me haha :D I guess this needs to be fixed. I didn't really see the theme use but it was fun

Nice simple game that played really well! I would also like to see a little more progression, but I wouldn't expect that to be perfect from the get-go with a student submitted game jam game. You should be proud of this!
