The concept of the game seems interesting, but I couldn't enjoy it. Most of the times I feel the game ignores my actions. Having to press enter to release a piece and take another one is self-defeating, a drag and drop approach could work much better. It is pitiful that the game feels broken and that it has that control scheme (I agree with most of the other comments, they're not intuitive). Despite that, I like the aesthetic of the game.

_φ( °-°)/ We'll appreciate if you rate and comment our game: Slow Ride.

Cool concept! I managed to score 7,200 points. That being said, I think there needs to be some sort of progression as it gets repetitive over time. Perhaps even as simple as changing the color of the floor and the blocks.

But aside from that, great game! It's quite challenging, took me some time to get accustomed to the gameplay but once I developed a strategy I was able to proceed without problems.

The graphics are also good. I like the minimalist aesthetic. Overall, good job!

P.S. Please consider giving feedback to our game as well, as we are in need of more ratings. https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2018/rate/300343

I really love the concept and I wish I could have experienced it. But the controls were just not clicking with my brain. It felt, intuitively, like I could select an object and just move it, and then pressing another number would select another object. But then I couldn't select an object until I pressed Enter (which sometimes even continued after the level restart!) So by the time I figured out what state the game was in, I had usually already run into the thing I was trying to me.

I like the idea and the minimalistic art style. However, using the keyboard number was really counter intuitive for me. I would have prefer drag'n dropping with the mouse for example.

Anyway, good job!

This is a nice one! Very tight visuals and a clever idea. Only comment is that the difficulty could escalate a bit. Once you figure out the controls it feels like you can just survive forever. Still, really well done! :)

Thanks!

Great game a bit harder than I thought it would be, but still a great concept, grat music, art. Basically a great game

Okay so first of all I really love the art! Took me a while to understand the control at first, but after a while it became smooth, I still wish it would have been easier to control like not having to press enter for example but overall its pretty fun! Nice entry!

thank you for your feedback, we are exited to hear you had fun woth our game!

Nice concept! I just wished the controls were easier like clicking the same number would place it down rather than enter, kinda makes it hard to react with everything. Still had fun tho :) Good work!

It is good to hear that you had fun with our game! Thanks for your feedback!

nice job! there were times when the numbers came in too fast to react, but i think overall it went well.my first few minutes with the game felt like there were bugs, specficically that it wouldn't follow the direction (eg point ahead, moves right instead). It might've been just me getting used to the game but i had noticed it a few times so maybe it's worth looking into. otherwise nice job. could see this being a sick typing game for kids trying to learn how to type :D

Developer(+1)

thank you for your feed back! You are right it could very easily evolve into a typing game!

Needing to deselect after picking the wrong block took a while to get used to, but once I got the hang of it, Kin became a very zen experience. The smooth art style and soundtrack are both fantastic, I really enjoyed playing this!

Im excited you feel that way about our game, thanks!

thank you for your feedback, it does speed up but at a very slow pace. Ultimately reaching 2X or 3X .

It was really hard to control. I would ditch the "press enter" and maybe loop the tracks so if Im on the left most lane and im pressing left it will got to the rightmost lane.

Other than that, a really cool idea, I liked it a lot (:

The theme is great and the visuals are pretty but I found the controls a bit weird, mostly using Enter to place the objects

Developer(+2)

thank you, we had both ideas for controls (enter and without enter) but we did not had time to test both. We went for the option with enter because we thought the extra difficulty was good.  Next time we will think about user experience first haha.

Nice idea! The visuals are really great, and I actually like the camera angle - but it did sometimes cause blocks to be hidden behind others. It might be useful to add some logic to prevent generating blocks in places where they'd be difficult to see.

Lovely art. Controls are a little unintuitive. Took a while to understand the mechanics. Deselcting blocks every time felt superfluous

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for the feedback; Yeah, we know the controls are crappy - we didn't have time to debug that part correctly :/ Thank you for playing :) !

Fun games but I you clearly have to remove the type enter to confirm. Juste choosing the obstacle and holding the key while moving it with the arrows would be by far easier. However the idea of deplacing obstacle and not your character in a running is a simple but clever idea! Had fun :)
