Awesome color palette/animations.
Loved the references to Vim and 8bits to infinity

How does your game apply the limitation (and optionally, the theme)?
You're a thief who is afraid of darkness and your boss tells you to go thieving in the middle of the night so you must stay on the edge of darkness to not pass out

What main engine/tool/language did you use to construct the game?
Godot
Great art, great sound, great music! General presentation overall is just fantastic. I think it fit the theme relatively well, I cannot stress how much my eyes and ears enjoyed this. Fantastic use of colour/limited colour. My only complaint would be that the game felt a bit slow, perhaps removing/shortening some of the distances that you have to walk? There were some parts of levels that (whilst enjoyable to look at) had no challenge to navigating, making them a bit tedious. Besides that, I think you did a fantastic job.
Thank you so much! Totally get that the game was a little slow. It was partially intentional to lower the difficulty making it available for more people, but it also unfortunately lowered the fun for some people. The first 2 levels were my attempt at making tutorial levels. Would've loved to make more interesting levels but i ran out of time. Thank you for great feedback and thank you for playing!
The art and animation in this game is fantastic, and your color palette selection matches the theme and gameplay so well. The opening scene, when you first turn on the lights and you give some love to Vimlark and MWG ... bravo! Really clever and a fun surprise.
It's a very unique take on the theme and requirement, and it made for a great gameplay experience. You have a lot of feedback on the game itself, but I wanted to applaud you for taking the time to address any potential issues players would run into and to already be working on known bugs for an update post jam. It came in handy as a player and it was wonderful to read about the updates, because I hope you keep it up with this concept. Great job.
Amazing art, super fun little strategy game... great work man :)
This is really good! I absolutely adore the aesthetic and the music choice. One thing I noticed that was very good was the rope physics, I love when games do these :P Game can get pretty boring at times, but that's probably just me. Still, a very very nice submission, I had loads of fun with it, beat it in ~400 seconds
This is fantastic! The light/dark mechanic is really fun to interact with. It felt great hiding in the dark and also appreciated the audio detail for giving players feedback when the health bar was emptying out. I feel like this has a clear core concept and you seemed to have really executed on it!
was unsure where i was supposed to go but i love the art and animations
awesome game! I find the concept very cool, and the art and music was great! controls are simple and straightforward, it reminds me of playing sokoban and metal gear (nes) combined, overall , I enjoyed playing this game! keep up the great work!
A thief afraid of the darkness is such a neat concept, the background song and sound effects works so well to created the game atmosphere I loved. I had just some small bugs with boxes but overall the game is incredible smooth and polished. Also I lost myself in the map in the intro, but when I found the light switch i thought that it was such a nice idea do it in this way.
I tried to focus on polish as well on my game, would be nice if you check it out :P
The game seems cool, but I don't understand what to do. I found the box, rolled it up to the car, but nothing happens. I would like a tutorial at the beginning of the game. I really liked the implementation light in the dark
The aesthetics are great and the ambient is excellent! I felt like I was playing a 4k Version of a Atari 2600 game (my first console). Great controls and concept.
I recommend to add some player feedback to be have a chance to make a last second decision.
Just the game's presentation is already great, the moment i saw a rope on the floor that could be grabbed from any point and seemed to collide with stuff I thought "now that's a flex".
I'm not that good at stealth gameplay, kinda wished the guards had a more clearly defined cone of vision but being that the game is about being in the light makes sense that you would get easily found.
Keep it up!
Thank you so much :)) The guard vision thing is a common thing people would like and i completely understand it, just didn't have time to implement something that looked decent. Thought of an outline but it didn't look good at all. Thank you again! Will definitely be checking out your game when i have some time!
your game is an great example how a good selection of colours with mood is enought to create a great experience, even if the graphics are small the ambiente makes all the exeperience nice entry man.
cheers
Nice Game. Cool Game. Like The Art. The Enemy Are A Bit Too Hard. The Game Has A Good Tutorial. GOOD JOB. Hope Ya Keep Making Games And Havin' Fun!
Nicely done! Pixel art looks super crisp and the color palette is amazing. Gameplay was unique and fun and your implementation of the "on the edge" theme is the best I have seen yet. Also really like the way the opening sequence was done. I am surprised you were able to get that much polish on a game in a game jam. Good job!
