Wow, the visuals are amazing! You even have cinematics!!
One thing may be lacking: feedback on hit. Even just a small particle effect would have been nice
I submitted a score, where can I see the leaderboard?
Great entry overal

How does your game fit the theme?
The player, enemies and crystals are all linked to each other by sharing the same health resource.
Did your team create the vast majority of the art during the 48 hours?

We used pre-existing audio
Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed yourself!
Yeah we did put a hit sound effect but didn't mix the levels properly and its not really audible. One of the artists had made an impact particle but I didn't get the time to implement it.
Unfortunately it turns out the code we were for the leaderbaord doesn't work in the WebGL build :( Something about secure https connections but we didn't realise to after uploading. I have a desktop version with working leaderboard but we didn't get it submitted in time so waiting till the end of judging to upload it.
I really like the interplay between sharing health with foes and rewarding aggressive play. While playing cautiously is (as other commenters said) fairly easy, playing to maximize score suddenly makes the game shine, as the defensive tools instead serve to maximize the number of possible foes to slay, and the time limit becomes the real enemy.
Thank you for playing!
We were really trying to push the trade off between being defensive and getting good scores and having fun. We wanted more mechanics, like using the stun would give the enemies a special attack and that kind of thing but just didn't get time.
Glad you enjoyed yourself! When the Jam is over we'll upload a desktop build with working leaderboard so you can get competitive with that score :D
Very pretty game. I was a little confused on how the arena format was until like the 3rd wave. A timer would have helped with that I think.
Also, I felt like I was getting hit regardless of dodging projectiles. Only the shield stopped damage entirely.
Visually impressive entry! However, as it is, it's easy to find a dominant strategy. I didn't really have an incentive to actually fight the enemies, since just running around, avoiding everything would just leave me and the crystal unscathed. Other than that, with a bit more enemy variety and tweaked numbers, I could definitely see myself pushing for a high score!
Very cool game! Nice interpretation of the concept! Amazing art! Not even just for a 48 hour game jam but just in general! The controls were a little difficult to master and I would love to play it with a controller instead I think, but I feel like this could be built into a larger game and would be lots of fun! Great job all around!
The game is certainly interesting, giving you lots of tools in your disposal. Simply surviving is easy, but getting a good score is not, so that's nice. I find that enemies are really bad at attacking your crystal, so there's not much incentive to protect it, especially in the later stages. Sometimes my vision gets obstructed when I'm at the bottom of the arena. The knockback mechanic is borderline useless when all enemies are ranged in nature. It's a very interesting game.
Very nice concept! I found myself following a strategy of just following the crystal and shielding every once in a while, as the enemies bullets would usually miss the crystal, especially in larger arenas. This made it so I didn't really have to worry about my health or the other enemies all that much. Might be something to look into. Other than that though, the graphics and music were great, the concept has a lot of potential for strategy and expansion, and it's very well made. Great work!
Somehow I made 83000 score :D
Really enjoyed graphics and music, very well done!
Amazing art, very well polished. Simple gameplay but the art sells it all, kudos.
The modelling and art are absolutely fantastic for a game made in 48 hours! Everything is so detailed, and it sells the fantasy mage setting super well. The running animation is especially well done; I appreciate the subtle difference between running and backpedalling. From a design perspective, enjoyed that the playing area grew over time to ramp up the difficulty and the use of the theme linking everyone's health as a resource.
My feedback is mostly around design. Running felt fantastic because it was fast and matched the pace of the combat and music, but the bullets were slow by comparison (by diagonally strafing I was almost going as fast as the bullets). Since the bullets were slow, it was hard to hit enemies without being rather close to them. I also never used the shield because I never felt like I was in danger, mostly because I could just outpace the bullets by running.
Fun game ^^ I enjoyed playing through it ^^ There's a few thing that can be improved in my opinion:
-The shield: It doesn't feel good. I didn't use it because its too small and directional. If you want to improve it I think you should make an Into the gungeon blank bullet type of power where every bullets on the screen disappears.
-The stun/knockback: It's a fun mechanic but the circle in which the stun applies needs to be more visual. This is especially true for a game jam because the players most likely won't spend time to learn the distance. Another way to fix this would be to make it bigger
The art is fantastic! Great concept, its really fun to play. Awesome work!
The art is great. 100 percent didn't think I would see stuff like this in a 2 day game jam. I like the use of the theme too.
Looks very clean. Would love to play but it runs on 0.1 fps in my browser xD
