This game was a very relaxing experience. The music had a resonance that was a good vibe feel. The gameplay was super simple and the flight of the birds felt good. It was a non-stressful game which is a good pace to have when dealing with the mass amount of stressful jam games lol
I played it here:
The music was great, and the whole game was a very chill experience. I did feel like the eagles weren't really enough of a threat, as I only had to scare one away and the rest were nowhere near me. It would be cool to play more with how flocks actually shift and break up in real life so that you could lose part of your flock and have to build it back up again or something.
But overall, this was very fun and relaxing!
This was quite a pleasant experience, in all sense of the word. Let's discuss,
The good things:
I would like to highlight your great usage of music to elevate the experience. It is almost standard protocol nowadays for games (indie and AAA alike) to use music to pair with the experience but it's still very appalling to see it in action, no matter how many times you've seen it. Love it!
Simple sprite art, great 2.5D implementation and great colour palette. Give your artist some credit on my regards, and I also see him working on the music too! Good job dude. Absolute love it, you've definitely understood the theme of the game and really outdid yourself here.
I would also like to highlight your game design decisions, I think your approach to a very simplified game with minimal conflicts really helps with your narrative choices here. The game opens with a quote and that sets a tone to the game which I think you met very well. This already reminds me of other games like Flow and Journey, where there are minimal (but not zero) amount of conflicts and circumventing them are both important, but not mechanically difficult.
If I were to have any caveats:
It would be that this is only loosely tied to the theme of joint together. The originality falls as a result. HOWEVER, this game can be expanded with an overarching plot, a bit more world, give it some charm, a little more fluorish on the gameplay and you could definitely make it a standalone release. Hell, if you worked on the soundtrack some more, you could sell it too for some side change.
Love to see it, I'll be following what you do next time!
This was a nice experience :)
I think I played for like 15 minutes straight. Bravo
Really loved the presentation, art and music for this one! Super upbeat and left me feeling really happy. Nice gameplay as well, maybe it would be cool to see the counter of how many birds are in your flock?
Real quick question: how did you do the dynamic soundtrack??? It was a super nice touch but I thought Audio Mixers were unsupported in Unity WebGL? Great work!
Glad you liked it! We wanted to keep the UI completely clean and have an organic experience, so putting a bird counter did not really cross our minds.
Regarding the dynamic soundtracks, we did not use Audio Mixers but two separate Audio Sources that we would alternate between with Coroutines to smoothly fade them in and out :) (So in total there are 8 versions of the song!)
Incredibly cute and simple little game. I understood how to play immediately and did so gleefully.
My only critque is that I genuinely assumed that the game was infinite and hadn't realised there was an end to go to. It almost didn't need one for what it was, but I kinda just stumbled on it by chance.
Honestly loved it, the art and sound design was adorable and playing this truly enriched my life on a philosophical level.

That's quite a relaxing game ! The graphics are really cool, with very simple pieces you managed to set a really charming mood. I wish there was bit more things to do but I enjoyed the trip anyway !
A very simple, but beautiful game. It hurts me to hear the screech when my fellow birds get scared away by the Eagles :(
The way you combine paper mario esque 2d art into a 3d world is implemented very nicely, would have loved to see more variety of buildings in the future though. Great job!
This is very polished and relaxing! Liking the minimalism and chirps when more birds join you. The way they move and flock is very satisfying.
