Lovely graphics, loved the art style! Physics were a bit strange sometimes, it was really easy to get stuck without any proper way to get unstuck. I was also able to leave the level throught the gate and reached the void before I went back to the gate to get my result card for my -160 points score. Anyway, good job!
amazing adorable aesthetic, There was a very, idk real feel to the models, the lighting i mean. It looked like real paper . Great take on the theme and the concept is super adorable!
Wow, the game is extremely polished for a jam entry. It's obvious that the presentation and theme fit are top-level, just looking at the game feels amazing. Gameplay-wise, the core mechanic is easy to understand and fun to play.
On other side, the score point was quite counter-intuitive. When I get hit, it says -10 points, while in reality, you get like -100/200 or so (also this is a little against the main premise bc you want to run very fast, but end up slowing down to not lose points). The last thing is just the export format. The web is usually easier to pick up and play, so if you want to participate in future game jams, try to fit it into the browser. In rest, a very strong and good entry.
P.S. Intended or not, but you can sneak out outside the map through wooden fences (they like collision boxes or something 😅).
Thank you for this comment, we're really happy with the reception of this game !
Oh god I had never noticed the score problem, we had the malus set to 100 at first but it always led to negative scores, I must have forgotten to replace it at one place...
You're totally right about the web version, it was planned but my PC took half an hour to make webgl builds that didn't work, so we gave up on that after a few tries to not lose too much time. I know it's a big loss, many players don't even try games that are download only...
And yeah there are hitboxes missing in some places, last minute changes in the level design have caused us some problems, I hope people don't get lost too much, we've noticed a hole in the hitbox where the path is supposed to be blocked...
the art style blew me away! greeat job!! and such a fun game mechanic!
The presentation was very good. But I couldn't really understand what I was supposed to do.
Good job making this on time! Seems like a very nice concept to me.
Looks great! Gameplay was a little confusing, but I think it’s a cool concept. Congrats on the submission!
Great visual style, and sound design! The gameplay is a little janky at times, but everything else makes up for it. Overall, I loved the polish, and can definitely envision it becoming a fully-fledged game!
Guys, you did so well with this one! Art, game mechanic, matching the theme - perfect, perfect, perfect! Two suggestions: Please provide a browser-based version next time. Gives me really bad feelings installing executables on my machine. I am pretty sure, I am not alone with this. I would bet, you could get the double amount of ratings for your nice game, if there would be a browser version. Second I am missing a proper exit option. Again, that's not an issue when it is browser based, but for executables I have to fire up my task manager to force-quit. Other than that: Excellent, well-polished game.
You're absolutely right, actually we tried to build a webgl builds took half an hour to compile on my machine, and didn't work, so we decided to not lose too much time on that at the end of the jam and focus on debugging. I wish I could add one now, but the rules are the rules !
Thank you for playing and I'm glad you liked it !
The art style and animation is superb! Really enjoying to look at! Nice work!
Wow this was so so awesome!! The artstyle is so cool, I love what you did with the paperlike drawing and the string is so nicely animated. Also that lighting like it is a tabletop is so nice. And the gameplay is honestly really fun! I enjoyed running around the city causing havoc. Amazing entry, super good job!! :D
Like you said, our games are complete opposites, which is pretty funny :D. But the art, sounds, ... are working very good together! Great Job
