Reminds me of the Infamous games which I love, very appealing art and color pallet. I like the choice making of good and evil, just needed more gameplay juice. Very well done for a first game. Maybe a good and evil rating could for a simple add to show how your actions have meaning.
Thank you for checking my out my game! Will definitely add more juices later!! At first I wanted to hide the evil/good rating so the ending would be a mystery until the end but seeing a lot of people prefer to see the rating, I think I'll enable them in the future.
Nice music and art and SFX. I think you did a good job creating the town design
Thank you so much for checking out my game!!!
A nice little game!
The timer was annoying at first, but then it was fine. But what was really hard was getting past the flowers without hitting them.
The gameplay was a bit lacking. Perhaps, given the same mechanics, some items could be hidden so you have to search for them. And I think it would be nice to add an item counter to give you a sense of progression. And also a anger/kindness indicator in the interface, so you can see how you’ve influenced the game.
Overall, it looks neat, the dialogue is funny!
Thank you for checking out my game!! A lot of things I originally planned for did not make it to the end such as cutscenes, mechanics etc because I ran out of time hahahah Thank you so much for the elaborate feedback, really appreciate it!!
Entertaining game. The time allotted for completing levels feels a bit tight. At first, I was confused and simply couldn't keep up. Later, I barely managed in the last 2-3 seconds.
The game does look quite nice)
Thank you for checking out my game, it's my first game jam!!
A lot of things were rushed during the development cuz I ran out of time haha...
There should have been some cutscenes and indicators to the player where to go etc... and the overall game should be longer.
I'm glad you still tried to complete the game and find it entertaining, thank you!
Cute game but i'm not sure what gameplay purpose the clock serves other than being frustrating
Thank you for checking out my game!!
Originally, I wanted to make it so when the timer runs out, a cutscene of the civilian freaks out when they see the villain (you) and accused you of doing bad stuffs no matter what you did (good/evil), thus adding more penalty (evil scores) to your accumulated score... After that, you'll be teleported to the next area but I ran out of time to develop them HAHAHAHAHAH *ugly sobbing*
XD, all good man. Still a very cool game!
Very cute game! Really good use of the art and music assets and feels pretty polished. I also love the concept and the dialogue is very silly (in a good way)
A couple things I noticed:
1. I kept getting caught on random collisions between scenes, which would softlock me and force me to restart
2. It also wasn't immediately clear that the F key was how I continue dialogue since it's a bit of an odd key (I thought it was just to activate talking). Maybe add a little sprite at the bottom of the textbox saying "F to continue"? But this might just be a me thing
3. The timer also didn't make a lot of sense to me at first. I learned that I had to go to the next room before it ran out once I died, but I'm not sure why it exists as it rushes the experience but it doesn't seem clear why it's implemented at all.
It's very cute though and I would love to see more of what you do in the future :)
Thank you for checking out my game!!!
1. Yes, I've received quite a lot of feedback on buggy collisions and will try to fix them in the future 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
2. "A little sprite at the bottom of the text" idea is genius!! Thank you!! I actually ran out of time so I didn't managed to implement proper indicators for the user so I just slapped them on the dialogue box while rushes in panic HAHAHAHAH
3. Originally, I wanted to make it so when the timer runs out, a cutscene of the civilian comes back and freaks out when they see the villain (you) and accused you of doing bad stuffs no matter what you did (good/evil), thus adding penalty (evil score) to your accumulated score and you'll be teleported to the next area but again, I ran out of time to develop them HAHAHAHAHAH
Again, thank you so much for the elaborated feedbacks, really appreciate them!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I keep getting stuck on random collisions.
The arts good and its got some funny lines
Thank you for checking my game out!!! Yeah I received a lot of feedbacks on buggy colliders and controls, will try to fix them in the future, thank you for the feedbacks 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Fun little game. I know I could be good with the flowers, but burning them was so much more fun :D
Thank you for checking my game out!!! YEAHH LET'S BURN THEM ALL MUEHEHEHE
It's fun to give the player a choice between good and evil.
Thank you for checking my game out!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I only have a few “tweaks” to advise.
Overall 4.5/5.0 (with a few improvements this can become a great game; Making it with a fuller “story”, a “good x evil” arch and so on).
Great game, hope it wins, at least!!!
Thank you so much for the feedbacks!!! A lot of things were rushed because I ran out of the time hahah... I'll take note about the controls and the fruits!! Maybe in the future I'll make it so something pops out to inform the player that the item is interactable or maybe highlights the items instead of colliding. Again, thank you for the wish and advise!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
As “another pro tip”, use an area2d to check if the player is colliding (around) with interactive objects; So instead of doing labels for each fruit you just do one general “cast” and that’s enough to verify if the player can interact.
Myself I create stuff like this just for this kind of casting. It can be attached from a simple “billboard” and up to NPCs. Try studying a bit of polymorphism and “ECS”, which both will give you enough route to expand, build and debug a lot of your future projects (And this one also if you want to keep adding stuff to it).
That was my 2¢ but overall the actual pro tip is: Games are a farce/illusion, just focus on making pretty farces/illusions and that will do for most games (shaders and baking textures/lights exist for a reason…)
Thank you so much for the tips! Will definitely try to delve more into those areas and how to apply them!!
It was fun trying to get different endings! The flowers section was a bit frustrating though.
Thank you for playing and I'm glad you like it!! The flowers section was purposedly made frustrating as the villain (you) loves burning them out!! So it's hard to fight the temptations MUEHEHEHEHE
Fitting!
It's fun trying the different endings~ great game!
Thank you for checking it out, very much appreciated!
Great addition giving the player the choice to be good or evil. Not like there really was a choice though. Mwahahaha!
Thank you!! Yeahh, in the world full of stressful events, sometimes burning down some flowers and stealing some oranges could let some steam off!! *Joins you in MWAHAHAHAHA!!!*
Well done! It does really give those authentic game boy vibes. I feel a port coming :p
Thank you for checking out my first game jam entry!!! As a sucker for games like "Earthbound" and "Undertale", I really had fun coming out with the dialogues!!
It was nice to have the option to be good or evil and the timer really created a moment of pressure. The art and audio also were fitting good together. Nice first game!
Thank you so much for checking it out!! The game assets were made by Ninja Adventure - Asset Pack by pixel-boy
Those gosh dang flowers had it coming. Cool idea for a game.
Thank you for checking it out, it's my first game jam entry!!!
If you're interested, the story behind the flowers is funny actually... it should be a different scenario where you could choose to burn the trashes at the park or ethically throw them away in a dustbin... But I had less than 24 hours to finish the entire game, and decided to burn the flowers for extra evilness HAHAHAH
Also found just one bug in the beginning. When switching to the second scene happened i got stuck like on screenshot xD
Thank you for checking it out, and yes I only found the bug with the collider once the submission date has ended, sobs sobs :'D
I originally plan to make it longer with 5 different scenarios but didn't had enough time, might expand the game once the jam has ended hehe...
I like how it's up to you to decide betwen doing good or evil (at least until the very end ;-) ) Would be nice to expand on this idea and feel more and more the consequences later in the game. Bonus point for incorporating both themes in your game!
Thank you for checking it out, it's my first game jam entry!! I originally planned to make more stages but ran out of time. Might would expand the game once this jam ended!!
Good building block for a bigger game. Nice!
Thank you for checking it out, it's my first game jam!! I'm planning to make it bigger once the jam has ended hehe
The game is short but the art and the story is nice
Thank you for checking it out, it's my first game jam entry!!!
I originally planned to use my own made assets, and supposedly there are 5 scenarios to be done instead of 3, but I ran out of time hahah
The game assets are made by Ninja Adventure - Asset Pack by pixel-boy
For your first game jam entry the game is really cool honestly, my first jam entry was a simple top down shooter , you are doing great
