Absolutely STUNNING game!!! This art is insane, I'm beyond impressed. the gameplay and environment is really crisp too, I love the idea of having a table you can turn down to to work. I also had trouble with the puzzles, but I'll just have to brute force it sometime and keep notes bc seeing all the character art is so worth it

Developer

We're very happy to hear that the art is this encouraging :DDD Easier mode will be uploaded soon, so there won't be a need to brute force anymore :3

The idea and artwork are pretty neat, but I couldn't figure out some of the connections between the book's poems and the ingredients. Maybe that's me sucking at the game.

Also, it should be said that it's pretty impressive that a jam game is available in 3 languages.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback and don't worry, we made it a bit too hard, hah... There will be an update with easier mode after the voting!

I agree that our writing team did an amazing job with the translations :DDD I'm very happy that their work is noticed and appreciated!

Submitted

Like few have stated here, the descriptions are bit too cryptic also to me, I quite like the flowery language, it fits very much the vibe, but I could not but laugh when my old fellow friend says "It's all written very clearly and is easy to understand" and I start reading absolutely not sure what any of it means and how any of it correlates to anything. But I also know it might be language barrier thing (I'm not native English speaker), so I can't fault you that much for it, some more clearer instructions or how to correlate which ingredient to which statement would have be nice. But moving aside from that old subject, everything else was great! The art was great and of course, always huge respect when in this short time you manage to get it all fit so greatly together. Writing was fun and enhanced the mood a lot, I was about to get annoyed with the old man's "voice lines", but he and his "ahems" did not overstay his welcome. Overall the sound design too was very fitting. I say it's a really nicely built together game which works very well, really the only thing right now is truly that it's difficult to learn (I do not think I got any even accidentally correct...). Great job to the team!

Developer(+1)

Your old fellow friend was making fun of you with that lil statement, haha :P We already have some changes implemented which will make connecting the dots easier, as well as the hint system, so there will be an update after voting 😄

Thank you for all of the feedback and kind words!

It truly is skill Issue with capital I lmao. Some of these days, I will learn to read and best this old bastard fellow friend.

Even though I could not at all figure out what insence to make and died (so bad at my job that i had a heart attack lol) I'm rating this very high and will definitely try again when I have some time.

I do want to say though that the ingredient descriptions are a little bit too hazy/cryptic... The art is gorgeous though

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback!

As others have mentioned, they also had a problem with the ingredient description. For this reason, we are working on an easier mode and hope that it will be helpful to others!

If I'm not mistaken, the art hints to retouched, AI-generated drawings. I'm no snoop though. The game is spooky and entertaining. The music fits nicely, and the art is very polished. This is a well-made game, and it goes with the spirit of the game jam. Well done.

Developer

You are, indeed, mistaken ;))) We are proud to state no AI was used, neither in art nor in code, writing or music. Actually, it's a good occasion to showcase our process - that's what a bunch of sleep-deprived art students can do ;3

Dziady: Werter - process

We're glad to hear it's entertaining and the spooky vibe works, thank you!

I like the sound design and the gameplay is very different to the other games on here. Like a more complex version of papers please.

Developer

Papers, please indeed was our inspiration for the general gameplay ;D We're happy to hear that we stand out!

Very immersive game, I used the hand to read through the book like in real life, ah ah! Great visual!

Developer

Thank you for checking out our game! I'm happy to hear you had fun, we're pretty fond of the hand reading feature ourselves haha

Great presentation. Beautiful backgrounds, characters, and workspace objects. The soundscape is also rich and immersive.

I love the variety of characters, so many allusions to folklore and literature.

Trying to match all 3 ingredients to the "customer" was very difficult, even on the tutorial. The answers are somewhat abstract, and the timer interfering with your vision makes it even harder.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for all of the feedback! We're happy to hear you enjoyed our game and noticed the references we put in there.

We also hope that "difficult" wasn't "too difficult", but if it was, worry not! We're already working on an easier mode to make the game more accessible :333

Really well-polished (haha), the art and gameplay were amazing. I particularly liked the transition between the workbench and the ghosts. I did find it very challenging at first so happy to hear you might be making a more accessible edition. Would love to see this turned into a longer game post-jam! :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for checking out our game! Easier mode is already in development, hehe~ We hope to see you here again after the voting, once we can upload updates!

Ciemno wszędzie, głucho wszędzie.

Co to będzie, co to będzie?

Nice little puzzle game, I really enjoyed it! The graphics and sound design were definitely the cherry on top here. It took me a moment and a restart to figure out how to properly make mixes for each ghosts, but the restart was worth it because I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that the ghosts are randomized.

Keep up the good work!

Developer

Thank you so much, we really appreciate the kind words! Glad you didn’t give up on the game after your first try, we’re beaming to hear you’ve got to see other characters and liked the randomization aspect of the game as well!

Great game, I really like the visual style, different characters, references. You've done a great job!

Developer

Thank you, we're glad you like it and appreciate the kind words!

This was both a beautiful game and once that was enjoyable to play, not really scary per say but melancholic in a pleasant way.

Developer

Thank you for playing! We’re happy to hear you’ve had fun and we appreciate your kind words. You’re right about the atmosphere too, this is exactly what we’ve been aiming for, abandoning the typical horror experience to focus on a more ghostly vibe.

Gorgeous art and sound design! I really liked trying to figure out the combinations via the poetry as well, amazing job on this one.

Developer

Thank you so much, we are very glad to hear that you liked it :DDD

I singled out some projects in this game jam with a distinctive visual style, and your game stood out among them. Well done, congratulations!

Developer

It means a lot to get a comment like this. Thank you for letting us know that, our hard work is appreciated!

I'm far from the first to say it but wow, beautiful game! I really adore the way you move between game screens (looking down to your worktable, turning the pages of the book). The hand sprite adds so much feel to the game.

I did struggle a bit with figuring out the combinations, but for a week-long jam this game has an insane amount of polish to it -- really well done!

Developer

Thank you so much for all of the compliments!
Of course there's a lot of polish... 'Cause our team is Polish /j For real though, we put heart and soul into that project so we're very glad it gets appreciation!

Very cool game! Amazing idea and executed beautifully!!! I love the thought through character design, the sounds, the music. How nicely the book instructions and writing was done overall. (Lovely poetry I was so impressed with the effort) And how much visible effort was put into all characters. My favourite ones were Ophelia and Werter with their whole presence and really cool designs ;]]  (Ophelia was so enchanting with her voice and vibe, werter was there) I reallyyy adored the option to have a closer look at the characters and see the secret of how they died. And how some of them had absolutely nothing to hide and were the same after inspecting. That added so much character to them in my opinion and felt more considered than just having them appear as they actually were.

It was.... a little difficult to understand what I needed to do to send the ghosts away properly, but after like an hour or so I finished it with everyone saved and not angry with me. And I kinda liked that it's a bit hard? It was really fun to learn and notice the patterns and key words that the dialogue gives you. The answers weren't handed to me and I had to actually think for a moment which was cool. Felt smart after finishing it :pp I also liked how the herbs and spices were colour coded subtly to the books instructions. In general the game was very scratchy when I understood what to do. Oh and the ending was such a fun twist!
Overall loved the experience. It's a job well done, really great work! Hope to see more in the future :]]

Thank you so much for such a detailed, thought out comment, this means a lot to us! We were all so excited when we saw it yesterday, to see that someone had noticed all the little details we put in the game <333

As the person who wrote the guidebook I especially want to thank you for appreciating the poetry and the difficulty of the game. Your comment appeared just when I was feeling  a little down, thinking no one might actually complete our game because it turned out too hard. Thank you for not getting discouraged and sticking with it 'till full completion <33

As an artist, I tip my hat to your team for the sheer amount and quality of this game, great job! Also, a cool game design. I am afraid I did not do  good job as a soul-sender; and perhaps some of the clues could have been less poetic and more on point, but I liked the progression and character dialogs.

Developer

We really appreciate your kind comment! It means a lot to know the amount of work and love we put into this project is seen.
In regards to the difficulty of the game. We did recieve some feedback already and we will improve the dialogues and implement a hint system for those who'll need it. Thank you for playing our game!

I didn't understand the book, I like the characters and graphics tough.

Developer

Thank you for checking out our game! Turns out it is harder than we intended haha. We're already working on making it a bit more accessible. We appreciate the feedback!

Submitted

I will love to see the result then, because your game has a real potential and I like the creepy look at souls when I zoom!

Submitted(+1)

Love this game and its atmosphere. Very polished and thought out. I would have liked it if the mentor character was a bit more serious and less grumpy. You know like a wise old man with some more mystery to him. I like the aesthetic, the sounds, the music. Very well done!

Developer

Thank you for all the kind words and the feedback!
It's all greatly appreciated!
