We'd love some feedback. Let us know how we did :)
I. Loved. Your game!!! Everything about it. Collection, abusing physics, cute simple style, achievements?!?! Wow. Great job, man. Rated!
Thanks for the reach-out post, I appreciate how involved you are with the community! With that, here's the game I worked on ^-^ https://itch.io/jam/jamsepticeye/rate/3937688
here is my game would love to hear what you think, https://itch.io/jam/jamsepticeye/rate/3935112
Omg I love this game so much! Extremely fun to play! The level design was simple yet elegant, the controls were instantly easy to grasp, I liked the lack of text or an explanation yet it all made sense, and the idea was hilarious! It fits the theme really well too! I may have encountered a small bug where sometimes when you die you instantly die again, but this didn't change the playability at all. Really great work!
This isn't mine, but it's a difficult game with a fish protagonist and I thought it was pretty interesting

I played and rated your game! Incredible art style, and that grave keeper actually lowkey scared me pretty bad when I realized he was chasing me hahaha. Sometimes the digging mechanic was a little tricky to activate because it seemed you had to be in a very specific spot. Also space bar as the pause button was weird for me because my natural inclination is to press it to jump. Nonetheless I had a lot of fun and it's quite a polished project for such a short amount of time! Congrats!

I played and rated your game! Super creative. I thought at first it would be hard to figure out what to do, but I got the hang of it pretty quick! Those restless nights were very spooky! I like the environment of this game a lot. I think something that would make this game even better would be a brightness slider in the options. At moments it was a little hard to see on my setup. But I found myself playing this one for quite some time! Great job!
Would really appreciate if you gave my game a go! https://supremelordalex.itch.io/before-the-end
For me you have the best game of the jam its really fun and it just works i could see it becoming a hit if you keep on expanding it. Id love if you checked out our driving game that we are going to keep on implementing after the jam i think its a pretty good base for a fun game Rate Charon's Cab Co. by TheTobbs for Jamsepticeye - itch.io
OMG it means so much to me that you think that! I played your game and the gameplay is really smooth and satisfying! You've really got that driving mechanic dialed in. Super fun to drive around. The art style and sound effects fit the design really well too! Definitely keep working on it. It's a great game!

Here's mine. Have Fun!
Thank you for taking your time to review games! Here's our game! We underestimated the scope of this game a little bit but we are proud we could still complete most of it and get a submission going. Most things that we planned at the start are implemented but there a few things we would like to improve and add later on after the jam, like more enemies, more weapon types, elemental damage, more levels as well as some bug fixing (for example the waves aren't counting correctly in the UI). Overall we had a lot of fun developing this game (and countless sleepless nights xD).
https://itch.io/jam/jamsepticeye/rate/3932400
You control the Messenger of Death and must fight wave after wave of enemies, you can make your journey easier by collecting their souls, which you can use to buy upgrades, such as more attack speed, a better jump, higher critical hit chance and many others. However, you must sacrifice your life to get these upgrades, you'll start from the beginning if you do this, but your upgrades will remain in your next life, giving you a better chance to deal with the waves of enemies.

Hope you enjoy it! We will be reviewing any game that rates us and return the favor. Thank you!
I played and rated your game! It was really fun but I found it to be a challenge (which is good, I think games can be too easy these days)! Perhaps there could be frequent checkpoints though? Also it would make more sense to me that if you die and get power ups, then dying by falling should do the same. Was a very enjoyable play! Reminds me of the days of flash games. Great job!

Checked out your game, had a ton of fun playing it, and I think you're gonna love our game !!

Awesome game! The environment is very well made and chilling. I love horror games so this was a great entry. I was on edge the whole time. And the getting air mechanic added yet another layer of stress. After playing and making it out, I did go back and investigate the monster. I think you could make it smarter, more aggressive and pursuant, which would tone up the scare factor a lot. It seemed to just chill out a lot. Really great game though! Congrats!
I unfortunately don't have a web version, had some problems with that. I can promise there's no virus, but I understand if don't feel comfortable running it :)
I'm not sure if there's anything I can do to fix it, I've read that it might just be windows flagging it because it's an unverified executable.
That worked! Thank you for taking the time to figure it out! Very funny premise and super snappy gameplay! I found myself getting ahold of the mechanics pretty fast and doing some cool trick shots. I think something that would make it even better would be some kind of mechanic that encourages replayability (aside from the multiple endings). I'm gonna list a bunch that come to mind when I played your game; high scores, combos, unlockables, skill based power ups, difficulty scaling, multiple rounds. There's many more I can't think of but you really have a great game! Doesn't have to be the ones I listed, but something like that would really drive people to keep playing it! Also loved the funny search history images! Nice job!
Glad to hear it worked and that you found it enjoyable! And thanks for the feedback, I definitely wanted to add more mechanics, like those for example but was unfortunately just short on time, didn't want to squeeze some half-finished things last minute. It’s something I’ll definitely look into adding later :)
Hi, here is our game :) https://itch.io/jam/jamsepticeye/rate/3936909
Here is the game I worked on! Rate Write That Down by ElementalPenguin for Jamsepticeye - itch.io. I rated your game, and enjoyed it a lot!
I played and rated your game! Very creative and a super fun puzzle! The voice acting was top notch as well. I actually really like what you've done with the controls and the camera! Very intuitive and unique! I would add the ability to invert the camera in the settings though as my natural inclination is to push the opposite way, and I know everyone will probably have a different preference on that. Also, the ability to sprint would be nice since there is a timer. One thing I thought was a little confusing was that some interactable had the "press e" option, but didn't seem to do anything until you did the correct sequence. So personally I would not even show the option until you have the ability to do something! Honestly super polished though and it is quite a fun play! Thanks for sharing!

This is my submission. It's my first game so I'd enjoy your feedback on it!
Great work and a super solid entry for your first jam! I particularly like the resident evil style camera movement. I do have some suggestions for the movement though that would make it even better! (of course this is only my opinion and there are many ways to approach this movement style). Right now it feels like up and down arrow are to move forward and backwards and the left and right arrow keys are to turn. I think a more natural approach would be to have the arrow keys make you go in the direction you press. I know that does come with some issues, but a game that does it really well is actually Scooby Doo Classic Creep Capers for the n64. When you move in a direction and the camera angle changes, you continue the same path and orientation you originally were in until you release the buttons, and then the movement direction readjusts to your current camera angle for when you press again. I particularly like this way because it allows you to continue moving through different rooms and camera angles without getting confused. That game also has things that chase you, so this is important in that context. Might be a little more tricky to get feeling good though.
And then some finishing touches that increase the polish like a pause screen, options menu, sound adjustment sliders, and a good audio mix really tie a project together! Some of the sounds were much louder than others, like the light bulb going out.
Really great work though and I'm being particularly nit picky with yours since you specifically asked for feedback! I really enjoy when creators use these jams as an opportunity to get better and make improvements to their games, so thank you so much for being open to it! Congratulations and looking forward to seeing more from you!
Thank you so much for your input. I like to listen to what the community enjoys most and build off of those ideas. The tank controls I added do revolve around the older style of PS1 games, but to many they are out dated and difficult to understand. For future reference, I will consider the all around movement that is used in N64 Scooby Doo game so people will have a better time controlling the character. Again, I appreciate the feedback and will hopefully use it for a project during this year’s Scream Jam :)
Hello hello! Wanted to ask if you've played our lil detective speakeasy cat game? Guaranteed to have a swingin' time! :3

Heya! Here's my submission. :)

https://itch.io/jam/jamsepticeye/rate/3936525
I really enjoyed the design and gameplay in your game! Super creative take on the theme! I will say I did find certain segments of the level design hard to navigate when there seemed to be no opportunity to die to help you see, but it's a really great game and was super fun! Congrats on a great entry!
here are three more games that are really really really cool, i hope you'll enjoy them as much as I did
Hold on a little longer a visual novel paced with wave defeating combat
Death Dealer card game, with vibes similar to buckshot roulette or deckline
ZOMBIES in my SUBURB! killing zombies
also your game was really sick, you probably know already but it's really fun to play, and seriously addictive
Thank you so much for sharing others works! It's really awesome to see how supportive people are on this platform! I played and rated all three of them, as well as your game! I must say, that game zombies in my subburb was straight fire! I'm so glad you shared it with me as I don't think I would have found it. I had a great time playing yours as well! Great job and thanks for the list!
you and your teammate have charmed yet another dimwitted fool, your devious army grows. I'm gonna follow you guys, I look forward to all the misadventures and games you both put out
Also would love to read a devlog of the process and thoughts behind fishin' critical if you guys decide to put one out after the jam
Hahaha me and my dev partner that has also been very active (BluMakesGames) are on a quest to play, rate, and give feedback on as many games as possible! But we actually were on a team of four! Two programmers, an artist, and an audio person/composer (I'm the composer). Though we all did a bit of everything! We have been talking a lot about potentially expanding the game and doing exactly what you're saying with devlogs and behind the scenes content. Still in the works and nothing is set in stone, but keep your eye out!
One final note -- It has honestly been so much fun to participate in this community. Everyone is so encouraging and uplifting and willing to learn and grow! This is our second jam as a team, and we will definitely be back for more!
My game Dead Neighbors: Mortal Void, is heavily inspired by Dead Space. Has a lot of atmosphere, tension and a super creep factor. Would love some feedback on it. There's a short video of gameplay on the page if you don't feel like playing it. https://krausers-lab.itch.io/dead-neighbors-mortal-void I'll check yours out as well!
I played and rated your game! It had a great art style, music, and was well polished! It was also a good take on the theme! One thing I might adjust to make it better would be to increase the speed of the death animation so that you can solve the puzzles faster. It's really a great entry though! Thank you so much for sharing!
we'd love extra ratings and feedback before the jam ends! https://itch.io/jam/jamsepticeye/rate/3934488
I played and rated your game! Was really fun! One thing I noticed while playing was that some abilities nerfed, which made it difficult to progress to farther levels. I would have perhaps liked the abilities to stack so that the longer I played, the more OP I got. Nonetheless, the movement and gameplay was very enjoyable! A great take on the classic shooter!
Hi!

Your game is exactly what a game jam entry should be, fun and frantic! And the quality is amazing, I see this being built into a full game.
I would love for you to check out my first ever game jam entry (and basically my first finished game in general)! It's a puzzler, interpreting the theme in an original way! Be sure to read the how to play quickly, I got some feedback it's a bit hard to figure out how to start :). Thanks!

HOW TO PLAY
I played your game and was even able to beat it! It was extremely well executed and a very clever puzzle! Thank you for leaving your instruction down below; at first when I was playing, I wasn't exactly sure what to do! It might be a good idea to add that explanation to any future updates of the game. Excellent work!
I played and rated your game! The shooting and movement were very smooth and fun to use! To make the game better, I would find a great artist to collaborate with so that you can add more of a unique vibe to the character models and environment! These jams are a great way to meet people and I definitely couldn't have made my game without the incredible collaborators I worked with! But great job and congratulations!
