As one of the developers, this is insane. Nice job!

Super fun! I missed the voting window on this one, but I played it for around an hour! I even kept playing after I maxed out all the stats. Great work!

Hey I tried to play your game, but itch.io quarantined your page for some reason. If it ever gets resolved, let me know and I'll give it a shot (even with the rating period being over).

Perhaps we will add more! Many people suggested the idea of a multiplayer mode too which I would find really fun. I'm so glad that you liked it and thanks for playing!

Glad you liked it! Yeah that was a plot hole that we had trouble approaching with the theme. Maybe we'll change it if we keep developing it! But I was imagining the fish was so obsessed with stealing that it refused to go back in the water leading to its own death hahaha. Thanks for playing!

Nice score! We had a lot of fun writing those pop ups as well as the item descriptions hahaha

oof you beat me 💀

I played quite a few games in this jam and personally I only left comments with constructive criticism and feedback for two reasons, 1. There was a major flaw with the game that interfered with my experience, 2. The creator specifically asked for feedback. Everyone’s different, but I didn’t want to go through tearing everyone’s game apart because some people might be more sensitive than others, and the ones who really want the feedback usually ask. So in future jams if you want more honest criticism, you should say something about it in your description and/or the posts that you make! Congrats on your first jam!

I was able to play your game, but not before rating ended unfortunately! Very nice art style and I enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing!

Hello everyone! It's that fish game guy again hahaha. Thank you to everyone who replied to my previous threads asking for games! I had so many responses, and everyone was so nice! I have played and responded to every comment in my previous thread, leading to me have coincidentally played exactly 100 games! There were so many incredible submissions, and it was really fun to see the diversity of ideas people came up with! That being said, I would like to highlight some of the games that stood out the most to me!

Elijah's Saloon

A game where you play as a sherif who uncovers a mystery in a old timey saloon. The storytelling in this game is so incredible it feels like a professionally produced piece of media. The writing, directing, voice acting, music, art design, and everything is so good and it feels like a complete game. One note is that it is a little buggy (you may or may not experience if you play it) but I was still able to complete the game and I'm sure they are going to polish it up after the jam! I would definitely give this one a look if you like story driven 3d games!

ZOMBIES in my SUBURB!

This one has less of a story, but is about running over cartoon zombies with a lawnmower! When I first clicked on this game and started playing it, I thought I was gonna be done with it pretty fast. But before you knew it, I had been playing the game for over an hour. The creators of this one have really dialed in that addictive quality and need to progress through the game with the money and upgrade system. In addition the map is quite an impressive size and lends itself to exploration. One downside is that it does lag a decent amount in browser. I was still able to play it thankfully. I think that this game has the potential to become very popular, so I hope that this team continues working on it!

Live, Die, Revivify

A visual choose your own adventure game, where your goal is to escape the evil wizards house. It is outright hilarious and the dialogue is so unexpected and the voice acting is top notch. Really liked the art style on this one too. I don't wanna say too much about it because you should just check it out for yourselves. But I genuinely loved this one!

Bronn

This one is a first person horror game where you try to climb out of a well. The controls to move the character are super creative in this one, which adds to the eeriness of the game. This is the only game in the jam that actually jump scared me pretty bad hahaha. But as you play this game, you are in complete control the entire time whether you get jump scared or not. I think that the story of this one gets overshadowed by the gameplay, at least for me. If you like horror, then definitely play this one!

Thanks again to everyone for sharing! If you want to post your favorites, or I didn't get a chance to play your game, then feel free to reply down below! I would love to check out everyone's favorites!

Hahaha me and my dev partner that has also been very active (BluMakesGames) are on a quest to play, rate, and give feedback on as many games as possible! But we actually were on a team of four! Two programmers, an artist, and an audio person/composer (I'm the composer). Though we all did a bit of everything! We have been talking a lot about potentially expanding the game and doing exactly what you're saying with devlogs and behind the scenes content. Still in the works and nothing is set in stone, but keep your eye out!

One final note -- It has honestly been so much fun to participate in this community. Everyone is so encouraging and uplifting and willing to learn and grow! This is our second jam as a team, and we will definitely be back for more!

Thank you so much for playing and I'm glad you liked it! Let us know if you need any hints!

Both me and one of my dev partners have actually already checked out and played your game! So silly and fun! Great work!

Hilarious!

You look familiar... I've played and rated your game! It was a fun one. Thanks for sending!

I played and rated your game! The shooting and movement were very smooth and fun to use! To make the game better, I would find a great artist to collaborate with so that you can add more of a unique vibe to the character models and environment! These jams are a great way to meet people and I definitely couldn't have made my game without the incredible collaborators I worked with! But great job and congratulations!

I played your game and was even able to beat it! It was extremely well executed and a very clever puzzle! Thank you for leaving your instruction down below; at first when I was playing, I wasn't exactly sure what to do! It might be a good idea to add that explanation to any future updates of the game. Excellent work!

Fantastic entry! Your game had me hooked with the art style and vibe hahaha. Loved the platforming as well. Thank you so much for sharing! And congrats!

Played your game and rated it! It's a very polished build! And a challenge too, which I am a big fan of. Nice work!

Hey Dragofin! I played and rated your game! What a fun take on the card game genre! Thanks for sharing and congratulations!

I played and rated it! Very awesome movement mechanics! I liked the combination of precision running with the combat! It would be good to be a little bit more clear with the instructions, because it gave me a hard time conceptually at first. But really great game! Thank you Hareh!

I played it and enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing!

I played and rated your game! Great storytelling! One thing I might add for improvement would be to allow a faster walk, and faster interaction animations in the room. I would also love for the game to be longer! Nonetheless great work!

I've actually already played and rated your game! Great voice acting and story! It was quite enjoyable! Thanks for sharing and congrats!

I played and rated your game! Was really fun! One thing I noticed while playing was that some abilities nerfed, which made it difficult to progress to farther levels. I would have perhaps liked the abilities to stack so that the longer I played, the more OP I got. Nonetheless, the movement and gameplay was very enjoyable! A great take on the classic shooter!

Thank you so much for playing our game, and I'm really glad that you liked it! Our take on the theme was that the fish purposefully gets itself caught and  dies for the opportunity to steal things on the boat. Though we totally understand it's not quite as on the nose as a mechanic or many of the directions other creators have gone in! We actually discussed this quite a bit as a team and decided it was worth the risk because when we were spit-balling ideas, the idea behind this game was by far the most compelling to make! Thanks again for playing and leaving the comment!

I played and rated your game! Was a really unique and interesting idea and was fun to play! I will say that the hitbox for the attack was a little tricky to get just right. But it has awesome music and art, and the gameplay itself was really enjoyable! Great job and thanks for sharing!

I played and rated your game! It had a great art style, music, and was well polished! It was also a good take on the theme! One thing I might adjust to make it better would be to increase the speed of the death animation so that you can solve the puzzles faster. It's really a great entry though! Thank you so much for sharing!

Hey Krauser's Lab! I played and rated your game! It's quite polished. It has great visuals and voice acting! I'm very much into this genre of games, so it was a fun play. Thanks for sharing!

One of my dev partners actually sent me your game and I've already played and rated it! Absolutely fantastic job! The art style is incredible, the story is touching, and it fits the theme perfectly! I wouldn't change a thing.

I guess you could say your game already REELD me in hahaha

I played and rated your game! I enjoyed it and it is a great take on that turn based style of game! Perhaps the movement animations could be a little faster to make gameplay more fast paced, but that's only a small thing. Excellent job and congratulations!

Thank you so much for sharing others works! It's really awesome to see how supportive people are on this platform! I played and rated all three of them, as well as your game! I must say, that game zombies in my subburb was straight fire! I'm so glad you shared it with me as I don't think I would have found it. I had a great time playing yours as well! Great job and thanks for the list!

Your game was so captivating! I played it for like an hour and maxed out all of the stats! You should definitely keep developing this one. I think some things that would add to the game would be more lawn mowers, and more upgrades (though I understand that the jams short time didn't allow for that). I had a lot of fun exploring the large environment you had and I was keeping my eye out for secrets and collectables. Not sure if there were any, but that would be cool too! Perhaps more unlockable levels with different environments would add to the progression. But this is for sure one of my favorites! Fantastic job and I hope you consider continuing this project!

That worked! Thank you for taking the time to figure it out! Very funny premise and super snappy gameplay! I found myself getting ahold of the mechanics pretty fast and doing some cool trick shots. I think something that would make it even better would be some kind of mechanic that encourages replayability (aside from the multiple endings). I'm gonna list a bunch that come to mind when I played your game; high scores, combos, unlockables, skill based power ups, difficulty scaling, multiple rounds. There's  many more I can't think of but you really have a great game! Doesn't have to be the ones I listed, but something like that would really drive people to keep playing it! Also loved the funny search history images! Nice job!

Very nice game! I ended up playing this one for a while. Would love it if the hints to find the correct combination were a little more obvious. But it was a lot of fun!

Very fun casino style game! I liked how simple it was to grasp! Sometimes card games can take a second to understand, but I knew exactly what to do! Nice work!

Really great storytelling and music! And the gameplay is fun too!  I do like the monochrome color palate, though it did actually take me a second to realize my health bar was on the bottom since it blends in with the environment. Nice work!

I tried downloading and playing your game, but my computer flagged it for a virus. Some other creators projects have had the same issue. If you have a web build or an updated version without that issue, I would love to give it a play and rating!

Great work and a super solid entry for your first jam! I particularly like the resident evil style camera movement. I do have some suggestions for the movement though that would make it even better! (of course this is only my opinion and there are many ways to approach this movement style). Right now it feels like up and down arrow are to  move forward and backwards and the left and right arrow keys are to turn. I think a more natural approach would be to have the arrow keys make you go in the direction you press. I know that does come with some issues, but a game that does it really well is actually Scooby Doo Classic Creep Capers for the n64. When you move in a direction and the camera angle changes, you continue the same path  and orientation you originally were in until you release the buttons, and then the movement direction readjusts to your current camera angle for when you press again. I particularly like this way because it allows you to continue moving through different rooms and camera angles without getting confused. That game also has things that chase you, so this is important in that context. Might be a little more tricky to get feeling good though.

And then some finishing touches that increase the polish like a pause screen, options menu, sound adjustment sliders, and a good audio mix really tie a project together! Some of the sounds were much louder than others, like the light bulb going out.

Really great work though and I'm being particularly nit picky with yours since you specifically asked for feedback! I really enjoy when creators use these jams as an opportunity to get better and make improvements to their games, so thank you so much for being open to it! Congratulations and looking forward to seeing more from you!
