Thank you yeah I'm starting to realize that. I thought everyone does jams so they can find out exactly where they place with real-time feedback but that assumption has been proven wrong demonstrably. Next jam I'll make it a major point that I don't want hand holding.
I appreciate the perspective, in my eyes it feels like this creates a fake hype train where the comments don't match the ratings and that's the disconnect that I'm concerned about personally. But then looking at how some people just rate it 1 star just to push someone else down to give them a slightly higher chance I can see that may be the actual disconnect and not necessarily those who are commenting.
I created a forum post when I posted my game up asking for feedback and not anyone replied to it so I thought that was odd also. Next time I think I'll make it more obvious and do like youre saying and just do it front and center on the game page itself. and thank you!
I see, that honestly makes sense I could see that. Goes into the part where they don't wanna be negative bombed just for making someone feel bad (which also is poor sportsmanship and silly)
This was my first game jam so wasn't sure what to expect but I got positive feedback only yet my ratings showed mostly on the lower range. I'm not upset because I did better then I expected and that's awesome but feels very odd having only positive feedback but mostly negative ratings? Can someone explain this to me?
Yeah I actually loved the puzzles! Im not the brightest light in the shed so it felt nice that it wasn't like a "struggle puzzle" if that makes any sense.
