I don't know how many people are looking at these posts anymore but I figured that I'd at least announce that I made a new downloadable update for my game that adds some QoL features as well as some other smaller updates.

Find it here! https://digi-knight.itch.io/til-death-do-i-part

Note: The web browser version of the game will not have these new updates.

Thank you for reading if you clicked on this!

Same sentiments here. This was the most fun (and the most stress) I've had in a game jam and I'm so glad I participated.

Congratulations!

Agreed! Everyone should be proud of what they put out in the time that we had. It was fun seeing how people incorporated this theme into their stories, mechanics, and level design.

Great job everyone!

I'm glad you enjoyed playing my game as well as its mechanics and characters!

My game should be playable on Mac, if not, then it'll work on your browser too! If you get around to it, I hope you enjoy it!

Thank you!

Awesome! Glad you liked the story and style :)

This has a great core concept! It's simple but effective, great work! Though not entirely sure if I'm sold on how the theme works with it. Still well done :)

I see we both went with the 3D retro style, I'll give yours a shot!

Yay! Thank you! Trains are pretty cool, I side with Billy.

Cool game! I like the puzzle platforming and I like how the mechanics work with the theme. Very fun, good job :)

Don't know if you've played mine already but this is what I accomplished as a solo dev, man the time crunch was brutal but I hope you enjoy it if you haven't tried it yet!

Already played and rated! If you have the time please check out my game, you guys did great with yours :)

Here's my game, even if you don't rate it, it would be nice to get some feedback or any comment about it. At least tell Stanley here that he's handsome.

I'm glad you think that I made that walk out impactful to the story, and I'm glad you have some favorite ghosts!

Thank you for the kind words in the review! It was fun checking out your game, you're welcome :)

Tell Norman I said thank you!

Already played and rated it!

This was my first solo game jam and I hope you enjoy it! (Now playable in the browser)

I don't care if you rate my game or not, Norman has chubby cheeks, just a lil guy.

Thank you so much! Glad you liked it :D

Yeah the time crunch was pretty brutal, you should be proud about what you accomplished in that time frame though!

I LOVE the music, I actually started bobbing my head to it when I first pressed start. I like the game play of matching people to the requirements you get for a sacrifice, especially when it's (I assume) randomly generated.

I hope after the jam this game gets expanded upon because I see potential for more! Great job!

Playing yours right now! GOOD LUCK

Like other comments have mentioned, not entirely sure where the theme comes into play here

Beyond that though, the game is really cute! I liked the premise and the notepad, it's a simple little whodunnit that changes every time. I got the reaper with just two questions asked so I think I did good.

Very nice, well done!

Solid game! I love the use of the theme and the mechanics! I will say, the level with the two guards and the big pit of spikes, I just walked and jumped across the pit without really needing to use a guard. Not taking any points off the rating because of that or anything, just figured I'd bring it up.

I really liked this!

I like the couple too, personally Sven is my favorite ghost. I'm glad you liked the game and its mechanics!

I will give you genuine feedback, if you play my game I hope you  would be genuine too! I'll check yours out soon :)

Final push! Man it's been a crazy week! Everyone should be proud of themselves for the work and dedication they put into these jam games. Be proud of your work!

I couldn't quite get all the possible ways to lose a life but I got more than half of them. I thought it was cool seeing the map change based off of how you lost a previous life! I also liked how it really felt like you were playing as a cat; jumping up on places you shouldn't be and knocking things off haha.

Very nice for your first game AND while learning Unity. Be proud!

Sure I'll check out your game! Learning an engine during a game jam must have been really tough, good on you for sticking with it!

Thank you! Glad you liked it :)

I love the art and the gameplay loop of this one! Took me a while to figure out how to attach cards to my hero, seems like it's based off of the card's location on the screen versus the cursor. It's fun and this is definitely a unique submission to the jam, good stuff!

Yeah I'll play yours! Even if you don't get around to playing mine that's okay, it's been fun sharing and talking about games with everyone.

I have both Web and Downloadable so the choice is yours. I would love feedback on my game, you never know what people will find so hearing every issue that's out there will just help the game become stronger in the future.

This was my first solo game jam so it will have some issues but I tried really hard to get it as polished as possible!

I actually really liked how you used the theme for this! I didn't quite know what I was getting into but seeing how dying gave me the abilities to use what I was killed with prior was really cool! Great job!

I just want to say that the page being the monitor to the game was really creative. The game itself was a little tricky and I didn't quite understand what I was doing but the atmosphere and sound effects and the story was interesting. Great job!

Thank you! I literally looked up "Halloween" in the YouTube Studio section and went through a few songs until I found what I used. I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

I'm glad you liked it! A lot of people like the ghosts and I'm happy people feel like they have their own personalities and such. Yeah the sensitivity issue is an easy fix but alas I can't fix that since we're in the rating stage. I would like to make a post jam version with a lot of these fixes to make the game a bit more accessible and easier to play.

I appreciate the comment, thank you!

Thank you! Yeah the biggest issues seem to be navigation, understanding of mechanics, and the mouse sensitivity. Hopefully that can all be fixed at a later date when the jam ends to be a more streamlined experience.

Oh yeah absolutely! Coders bring artist's work to life, and artists bring the visuals to make coder's work into a world. And man I really felt the "if I had just one more day" part, I feel the same way. Great job on what you accomplished!

I'm glad you liked it! The mouse sensitivity issue is definitely one to fix, a lot of people have brought that up. The sounds of the characters talking is something I do want to expand upon by giving them their own sounds for dialogue; I used just one sound and tweaked it for everyone to save on time.

Regardless, I'm glad you see potential in the game and I'm glad you gave it a chance!
