How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
This game is all about dice. You are a die that can change your number randomly in order to defeat enemy dice - you may be lucky or unlucky!

Combining with enemies to make seven? That's cool! I had a similar idea when I made a dice-themed game for a jam. This was a neat entry with charming art!
Unfortunately, the platforming was quite unpleasant: both slippery and heavy, and made much, much worse by the consistent slowdown. With how much lag there is, and with how big the character sprite is, I think there should have been at least a frame or two of coyote time.
Considering how difficult the levels are, I'm not sure why it uses a three-lives system. It could have simply subtracted a large amount of score upon death.
All-in-all, good work! Congratulations on the submission!
really had a lot of slow down at the end but very intresting concept.
Really nice pixel art it looked exactly like a game boy game and I like the dice rolling mechanic to defeat enemies and open doors. I only had two problems wish there was a warning when enemies rolled to a different number and also there was really bad lag while I was playing the game.
It's a cool idea, I'd love to see other ways in which a dice protagonist could be used to explore, use tools, solve puzzles, etc.
I wasn't sure at first whether the code was the number I needed to be, or the number I needed to match to 7 to get through the door.
The lag seems a little bit harsh at times, in level 2 it makes the platforming kinda tough.
Nice game overall!
This is a difficult one, I really like the concept but the gameplay makes it difficult to play though there's something alright.
if you decide to continue on this concept, I'd suggest first having the player only use 1 number, all enemies stay with a specific number. That way you explain the good/bad combo, Then introduce changing between 2 numbers in the next level, that eases in the idea of changing your own power. Adding features like that will make the gameplay a lot more accessible I think.
I did see some slowdowns in the game, might be my browser having issues.
I think the core idea is really great and the game also looks good. I find it tricky that you roll your own number while the opponent’s number changes — both at once feels like too much and slows down the flow of the game a bit. Otherwise, a nice game.
Very cool! I like everything about it. I think the gameplay is the weakest part, but is still quite strong and interesting. The level design is very nice and tastefully crafted. It's very focused and cohesive which I love - great work!
It's an interesting idea and a unique combat mechanic for sure.
It feels like you could tweak the combat setup a little bit for some quality of life improvements. If the enemy die had some shake animation for 2 seconds or so before they changed so that it didn't feel as sudden then players could better judge when to approach. If the enemies also progressed in die value in a linear fashion (1->2->3->4->5->6->1) then players could know what value they're looking for on themselves rather than feeling cheap-shot if the enemy switches quickly away from the value that I thought I needed.
Outside of minor gripes like that it is a very solid entry, well done!
This is a really interesting gameplay concept. It was kind of frustrating sometimes when the die would change just as I was about to hit it! Very fun.
This needs a good soundtrack! I think I'd have to play it on mute as is. :)
WOW!!! I really think you have a HIT on your hands. No joke. I can definitely see this being like a legit mobile game that people would love! It's insanely clever!
However, I strongly suggest getting rid of the "lives." If you beat a level, it's beaten for good, and if you fail, you just restart that level.
Other than that, this is an award winner! It's so smart, it fits the theme in a way I could never have imagined, and it's addictively fun!
The little dice guys are so freaking cute too!
Truly, amazing job!
awesome concept ! I can see a ton of speedrun type things be done with this. gb vibes and aesthetic were on point!
Very interesting and unique concept. I really liked house the enemy dice would change number every time they changed direction. It gave the game just the right amount of difficulty.
Good game, loved the concept.
Fun idea! I liked the central mechanic, but I found it frustrating to have to start over when I got the number wrong at the exit door.
so funny and quirky, I really like this game. I had some performance issues during a play, like lags, but maybe just only in my case.
I also had quite a bit of lag, but was still enjoyable.
That was a lot of fun, it hit on all levels. I'm really looking forward to putting this ROM on some physical hardware.
Love the cute but sleek presentation and inspired concept!
It has a bit of a learning curve though, despite the explanations screen. I feel a closed arena for a first level would've worked better?
The use of unlucky was really clever, and hats off for making an actual gameboy rom!
I like this one. Very clever way to defeat enemies. :)
A lot of fun to play. Took some time to get the rolling and jumping just right, but was a fun mechanic to play with! Very quirky!
