I'm glad you liked it!

Oof, yeah sorry about that! Great feedback though. I'll think about adding a visual difference between the note varieties in my post-jam update, or maybe some kind  a colorblind mode that would change the colors. Thanks for playing!

This was fun! I liked the fact that you could get good at landing on what you wanted. The maze itself was maybe too long? Thanks for the game!

Thanks for playing! I'll be posting a more bug-free version after the jam with some adjustments to how the colors work and maybe some additional tracks. I'm glad you liked it!

Thanks for playing! I'm really happy you enjoyed the music.

Thanks for playing! It was my first game jam, mostly done to give me a reason to write music for something, so I'm really happy that people enjoyed the music. I agree with your comments, the colors are a bit much. For the after-gamejam version I plan on implementing specific color palettes for each multiplier as way to visually learn what multiplier you have without having to pay attention to the number.

This was fun! I liked your theme interpretation a lot. A good "dying is funny" kind of game.

I wasn't quite sure what was happening with the random dice rolling mechanic, but I liked the overall experience.

Windows reports a virus detected upon download.

Fun animations!

Fun idea! I liked the central mechanic, but I found it frustrating to have to start over when I got the number wrong at the exit door.

Fun game, nice job!

The Gameboy vibes are off the charts! Great job , it feels really polished.

Nice sound effects and bosses! Controls felt good.

This was a lot of fun! Thanks!

Really interesting idea, but really hard!

This game is actually so good. Great job!

Great game in such an awful way if that makes sense

This was fun in an idle game sort of way. The dopamine is real.

Looks like the viewport isn't scaling, which is a bummer because the graphics look great! Not sure what the goal of the game is though.

Neat idea, wish you had a little more time because it seems like it would be really fun!

Fun idea, opening cut scenes made me laugh out loud.

This was great! Loved the boss fight at the end. Really good all around.

Fun game, the knight was pretty hard, felt the controls were a little slippery.

Couldn't jump for some reason.

Cute game, I liked the main character design.

Awesome art, loved the color palette, and it all felt very Gameboy. I also ran into a bug where the fight against two insects never finished. Very ambitious!

I loved the music and the writing was funny! Seemed like the resolution was inconsistent with the GB restrictions, but the art was cool! Loved the Platypus moon.

Thanks for the review! I'm glad you liked the music. I definitely agree that the random color palettes can be a bit much - If I had a little more time I would have locked down a set of specific color pallets that were all at least semi-legible. I did want part of the "unlucky" theme to involve being stuck on a good multiplier with a rough tough pallet but the eye strain can be real.

Control options include controller support as well as arrow keys + ZX., and WASD +JK.

KNOWN BUGS:

**** IMPORTANT: *****

- The first song played after launching causes a lag spike that desyncs the audio and gameplay. Easy workaround is to get into a song, press start/enter and select quit, and start the song over again.

- Difficulty settings on the song "Heating Up" are broken. Hard and easy modes are both easy, Medium is Medium.
