How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
Rexy is a dinosaur born at the wrong time. From the moment he hatches, his life seems to be riddled with misfortune. From volcanic eruptions, meteor showers, and mud pits to fierce predators, angry neighbors, and the hazards of being tiny, Rexy just can’t get a break! What will the ultimate fate of this lovable little dude be? That entirely up to… luck?

Fits the ol' gameboy feel pretty strongly! Controls were a bit rough around the edges but that fits with how old GB games used to play so... not bad! Boss looks intimidating.

Hilarious concept xD
Poor little Rexy, I hope he'll get to catch a break :((((
But still, thank you for the game u-u
Cool platformer felt like a real game boy game will be sure to comeback and play again when the boss fight gets added.
Funny graphics!
Great little platformer y'all have made here! I second some of the other feedback below that the controls could use a few more rounds of iteration but I think you're close. Another piece of feedback is that I almost missed the exit in your second level—more contrast in some of the art would definitely help with the readability and in guiding the player. Nice work all around though! Thanks for making and sharing your game
Thanks for taking the time to play it through! Good feedback.
I loaded this up on my retro handheld and had good time with it. I suspect it will live there for a long time :) I really enjoyed the music, and the art feels very gameboy-esque. I wish the dino felt better to control, and being respawned at the start of levels was pretty painful. All said and done, this is a solid entry. Nice work!
Thanks for the feedback. I'm planning to round out the little game with a boss fight, tighter controls, and implement some of the other feedback I've gotten as well. I'm glad this has made it onto some original hardware! Thanks for playing.
Really amazing exposition! I especially enjoy that the first level is outside and with upbeat music and the second level is a darker cave, just like Mario!
Thanks for playing!
Cute character design. The platforming is a bit slippery, and the player character moves faster at top speed than the projectile of its attack. But overall nice entry, congrats!
Good feedback. Thanks for playing!
Very fun idea! I loved playing Rexy! The movement controls reminded me of Super Mario Bros. NES, so I liked the gameplay. I was hyped to see the "Boss Fight Incoming!" but the game restarted... I hope you'll continue the development!
Thanks for playing! I'm hoping to get to the boss fight in the coming weeks.
I thought it was really cute, Rexy. I really liked all the different types of enemies you managed to include in such a short time. In my opinion, I would add some extra health points so you don't die in one hit, and I would also improve the movement controls a bit (get rid of that slight sliding effect when you release the button), since sometimes I had a little trouble reaching some platforms because of that. Even so, great job, well done!
That's good feedback. Thanks for trying it out!
I am not sure if this was just me or if the game just abruptly ended when you got past 2nd level. Other then that the game was good! Very polished and very nice to play.
Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to add the boss fight. Thanks for playing!
love the artstyle and music!!!
Wow, this game is really good and feels super polished — and all that in just 10 days, simply amazing!
Thank you!
I love anything dinosaurs, this was great! the pterosaur scared the crap out of me lol and the rex looks so cute with the little helmet.
Dinosaurs are great! Glad you enjoyed it. :)
Nice! Feels definitely like something that could run on the game boy. I definitely had fun. It took some time until I figured out you can hold the button to run. :D
I think it would be nice to have some lives when getting hit instead of being immediately respawned.
Lives would be a good idea. If I work on it more, I'll definitely build out a better collection system.
This is a cute game! :> I can't speak entirely for the GB, but it does feel very old platformer! If you do finish this game, I would love to see what a boss is like!
Thanks! Boss fights seem tricky with limitations of the Gameboy, but I'm excited to give it a shot.
I can't wait! :>
Nice small game about an unlucky small dino! I enjoy it. The graphic and the sound feel very nostalgic!
Thanks for giving it a try!
He wears the acorn as a hat! I loved this. Probably the most GB nostalgia I've gotten so far this jam. The music was well done and I'd absolutely love to see a full game of this.
Thanks!
The controls felt a little sticky when I was playing on my keyboard but playing with a gamepad felt great! Fun platforming, cute character design, the opening cut scene definitely gave me jurassic park vibes. After the second level it said BOSS FIGHT COMING! but then it looped back to the opening title screen. I was really looking forward to that boss fight.
Great music too, the first track has the right amount of stress to it, it makes you wanna speed through it. The second level theme felt ominous and had a really nice underworld thing going on.
I really wanted to get to that boss, but couldn't find the time! I've never designed a boss fight so I'll have to finish it eventually. Thanks for playing!
