Wow, that's really cool idea and implementation! The only thing that was a bit meh in my book is character mumbling, but everything else was fantastic! Congrats on the win! :)

Incredible amount of work in a jam’s time. This felt very polished.

Neat concept, the art is gorgeous, the gameplay is fun. My one gripe is that when you replay a mission, you have to click through all the tutorial messages. Other than that, it's great.

This is really clean! The art and audio are rad, bring the 90s vibes right into you. Love the lore too, as someone who likes to play games for the story, this was super fun!

The vibe of this game was really nostalgic and great. And I have to say it is probably one of my favs so far. Great use of the wildcard aswell. The art is really nice and the music as well. Really cool game.

I can't never be as cool as Rick Flannels. But at least I donutted. Amazing game trully

nice game! Reminded me of the 90s, very nostalgic :)

Absolutely loved this, from the controls, to the sound, to the music, wish it was a full game! The art is dripping with style, and I genuinely laughed a lot at the names. I feel bad for not having much to say beyond that, amazing job y'all!

Perfect Scores. A thoroughly enjoyable experience with a rewarding practice regiment. The only possible criticisms are going to be internal.

That said, this concept likely has already reached its potential. A new idea will need to come through for your future.

Wild amount of work went into this! Looks and sounds so good, you'd only expect this much polish in games made in 10x the time! The spinning in a circle bonus level felt like maybe it should slowly shrink or something, I didn't see how a player could accidentally slide out of bounds to the point where I had to just bail after a bit. But truly, a real achievement.

Awesome game! I didn't even know I liked these type of games, but because of the awesome music and sound effects, it really imersed me in the game. I had a lot of fun!

Insane amount of work, congratulations to the team. There is just so much in this game for the time span: a lot of well designed art assets with a coherent vision, good sounds and music, dialogues, character design, level design and quite a few systems at work. Very simple inputs, but satisfying to master (which I definitely didn't although I won an oscar).

Great stuff all around, I'm super impressed!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much, and grats on the Oscar! Who'd you play as?

Submitted(+1)

I liked Blance's yellow car the most!

Developer(+1)

Our girl Blance! Love it!

Dang, my hand is aching from tensing up so much trying to get a higher score! I think the only “issue” is sometimes I got stars when I shouldn’t have (didn’t actually beat par) so I’m not sure I really deserve the Oscar. Real polished experience, lots of fun, well done! The only thing I can think to add is final total mayhem level to just knock as much stuff around as you can.

Developer

If you made it to the end then you definitely deserve the Oscar! Well done, who did you play as? It's funny you mention mayhem, the game actually started as a "knock stuff around" game and became a "do donuts forever" game!

For anyone else who sees this, if you want to see the ending cutscene without beating the game: Go to Challenges > Donut II > drive out of bounds and it will play. CHEATS!

Had a fun time with this and great visual and music, really captured the 80s vibe. I did go back to get first in some of the challenges after I understood how to actually play, it was enjoyable!

Hey
Dang this game is good and extremely polished. The fact that there is tutorials is great for a jam because in most cases it's difficult to figure out what is to be done in a game. The simple controls and aim make it really fun.

I did struggle with the game on web version that it froze at times. But it doesn't take away from the fun I had while playing it.

I would ask that there be more control options while playing the game, using only the mouse is not great for long game time.

Good luck :)

Love this, the game has got so much personality and charm you guys nailed it!!

Submitted(+2)

pretty amazing game, what is it not to like in this entry? kudos to you all three!

Submitted(+2)

Great implementation of the Theme " controlled chaos", i like it,I've been working on a car racing game for a while, but I never finish it. You guys nailed it. The game is so polished. I like it.

Couldn't stop smiling when the game opened with the 80s theme ... very appropriate for the 80th GWJ ... thought of doing this myself as well, but couldn't come up with a nice hook/style ... so dropped it quickly.

Very well done game. The controls were a bit harsh sometimes, but really enjoyed it and got to the end.

Too bad I couldn't enter my own name in there :D

Well done!

I really dig the King's Quest Vibe on the animations.  Took some effort to get the feel for the controls, but fun and challenging game
