I didn't expect the twist that the key is needed and have to go back (after many tries to get there) and go another way to get it. Nice game!

AAAAAAARGHHHH, freaking rage games always get me!

I don't really mind the difficulty, that's used to this genre, I really like the idea of top-down but still with height, really well communicated through the lighting effect.

The subtle lighting difference on those moving platforms is also a nice plus.

Only additional thing I'd really like is to be able to restart by pressing space, that'd keep me more in the flow, by being able to focus on my keyboard & keep my mouse out of the screen.

Congratz!

This was a really fun game, but I found the moving lava and texture of the floors a bit overstimulating. Great job nonetheless :)

Love the topdown layered gameplay as an idea, but it is too rough for me to be enjoyable. With some fine tuning it could be great tho. The troll platforms do not fit in the gem imo, I know it fits the theme a bit, but not the game. Overall has potential to be fun if less precise and more forgiving.

Very nice energy, never saw a top down game who implemented the jump mechanic. It was hard, sometimes a little bit unforgiving, the character is very big but sometimes it feels like being off of one pixel makes you lose, but maybe that just a skill issue on my part :). Very nice effort

Pretty hard and fun game, I especially like the music, it conveys a cheerful atmosphere. Good job, guys!

I feel like it could probably use some roadrunner time, that and/or a more intuitive way to tell the heights of the different platforms. But the whole 3D but 2D thing is awesome and I love the level designs! (I had to quit after some of the moving platform levels cuz I couldn't time my jumps right lmao)

Really cool game! i felt the camera angle was kinda trippy but like in a good way lmao

also id love for the platform's hitboxes to be maybe a bit bigger cuz i fell off the starting platform way more than i should have lmao

but still a really nice game with really cool gameplay!

Fun game!

Just a little problem I found with the menus. If you fell in the lava, and then pressed escape, the game over screen, and the pause menu would overlap.

That’s a really unique game. I really like games that troll the player and this is no exception. It was fun experiencing a new platformer perspective like that :)

It surprised me that it wasn't hard to tell how to jump. "The floor is lava" would also have been a good name :D

Nice music, I enjoyed a lot the depth effect to know heights, but sometimes it was hard to understand what was a column. You could have fixed it with some lights and shadows effects to show what would be a column.

Some of the platforms were easy, and sometimes too hard. I did not enjoy that I lost the key when I died, or that I had to try over and over again to know what platform was moving, and starting from scratch. The trolling is intended, but can I please make it less painful to start from the beginning with no key? I did not understand how to get over these two lasers:

That said, for 7 days, very well done! The music is nice, and the idea of doing jumps with a 2D zoom is very cool! Kudos :)

EDIT: Added to my list of hidden jam gems :)

Lorenzo, thanks for your feedback! We understand you well :)

In this room there are two levers that deactivate these lasers. Further rooms also require the use of levers.

I missed them entirely, :D I’ll go back and try again :D

I liked the music, also pretty casual chill game, i would maybe work little bit more on telegraphing the player about platform heights as that was not really clear to me and it was trial and error.

Like it! Using lightings to indicate heights and blockings is a great implementation!

The perspective was pretty cool and the conveyance of height was pretty effective. If this jam has taught me anything it's that I will gladly push a red button with little regards for the consequences. :)

I don't really play top-down platformers, and I was surprised I could jump on this game. The visual effect when jumping was pretty clear so it's easy to know the height difference! The music was fun and very fitting for the atmosphere too. Great work!

Great game! There are quite a few levels and diversity among them. I would add a slight delay before falling from the platform so that players could jump at the last moment, but other than that, it's excellent

That was really cool and well done, I haven't seen a top down platformer and you really nailed it! It flowed very well and the art design made it very easy to understand the world, like when you're jumping or the different heights of platforms

I think you handled the top town perspective really well with jumping. It would have been easy for that to be the most frustrating part
