Nice little game, i just wish there was more levels, it ended when it started to get very intresting ! Good job anyway, very pleasing experience !

Developer

thanks a lot

Cool game! I thought the way you implemented the theme was really unique! The puzzles were great and the visuals complimented everything nicely. Great job!

Developer

thanks a lot for playing mate

I really liked the game, easy to understand goal and mechanics that should allow you to make quite interesting puzzles. The levels (so far) also required some planning and where small enough that you could walk through the needed steps in your head without problems.

The only 2 problems I had are that it gets a bit annoying to constantly need to press a button to walk 1 tile, some way that I could leave it pressed and keep moving would be appreciated. The other problem was that it was too short (which, for a game jam is actually a good thing I guess). It ended exactly when I was getting into it :(

Developer

Hey, you can hold the button to walk further and yes you are right, its a bit short, but probably i will build up on it. Thanks for playing ;)

Submitted(+1)

oh, that does work. Weird, I could've sworn I tried that. Nvm that part of my feedbackthen :)

Developer

No problem, probably there was just an error than... ;)

I think this might be my favourite game in the jam. Such a simple idea, but soo well executed. Really well done! I love the visuals with the slight glow to the colours on top of a black void, the puzzles are fairly easy to understand but I can see them getting very challenging. The only thing I would say is if it has some more satisfying sound effects. I can see this making a really great mobile game.   Also a nice touch was seeing the colour palette in the top right, gave you the opportunity to think through your steps. I like it a lot. maybe you could add some challenges in the future? For example complete the level in 15 steps etc.

Developer(+1)

Hey, first of all, thanks for playing and all your suggestions.

I mentioned before, that i will probably make an update after the jam ended, i appreciate your ideas and i think they would fit well into the game, especially with some challenges ;)

Submitted(+1)

Awesome, best of luck :) I'm excited to see your progress.

Absolytely loved it, its like helltaker, but without anime waifus :D
not so many puzzle games here so there is a bonus points for that.
The only point i have with this game is that black box could aswell be a powerup and failure is only "cosmetic" as its required.
Pretty esthetics, and sound and music fits well,
Feel free to roast my game aswell :D

Developer

Thanks a lot for taking your time ;)

Not bad at all, although the gameplay suffers a little because of a few design setbacks 1) for most of the levels there isn't enough there to for there to be any challenge to the puzzle and 2) the player can't predict what color they'll be. This is ok for 2 other reasons 1) the theme means if you keep dying and restarting to learn your color pattern that's ok, BUT it seems like your focus on the theme is intentionally dying by the black squares, not dying to learn your color pattern, and 2) tricky level design like you have in the last level could account for that because the player can reasonably guess the path and strategize. But this is still kind of an issue because ultimately it comes down to guesswork rather than thinking through it logically. I hope this makes sense, I wanted to give more thorough criticism for this game because I really like the concept, it's better than many on this jam.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for your really good suggestions. One thing in the beginning, i think you oversaw the colorpalette with an arrow on the top right, which tells you the colors in their order.

You are right, the levels are mostly verry easy, which is a thing i wanted to make better in the jam also. It was my first puzzle game and i didnt really know the concept and the best conditions to make such a game. That leaded me later struggling a bit with bringing up new level ideas, which are actually harder to get for the player. That also is why there are only five levels, which indeed wasnt a problem for me, because i wanted to make an short and enjoyable game, which does not take to long and does not bore the player to much with long story, complicated controlls or even hard to understand rules, with which it would probably have been easier to make harder levels.

Submitted(+1)

Ah, I see, sorry for missing that!

I really think you should continue this project, make quite a lot more levels and maybe bump of the visuals, and it could be a really good small steam release. I think if it's your first puzzle game, you've done a lot and are on the right track. Better than what I could've done lol!

Developer

Thanks a lot ;)

Pretty cool concept!! Unfortunally the puzzles are very easy at the moment but i could see this being a potential good puzzle game!! =D

Developer(+1)

Thaks a lot, i wanted to make an easy to understand game, with some easy to medium puuzles, but u are right, they got pretty easy at the end

Love the music. Levels are really well designed, good looking and the theme is well implemented. I'd change one thing about the checkpoints, you can't see which one is currently active.

Developer(+1)

Jup, youre right, verry good suggestion, im, probably going to change this after the jam end, thanks for playing ;)

A good game!

But the sounds and music are a little bit quiet. I needed to more that double my volume to hear it.

(When i normally do that everybody at my home would know that and i probably wouldn't hear anything for a few days)

Developer

haha, ok, yeah i heard that a lot, the song gets louder and i dont wanted it to annoy the game, so i made it quiet in the beginning. Thanks for the suggestion✌🏻

Submitted(+1)

The idea is simple, original and clean. The increasing difficulty of the puzzles makes this fun XD. I think you could have chosen another music though...something more...colorful :D! Check out my game if you can ;)

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks for the suggestions, i made the music myself and i wanted something, which seems far and chill not happy, your right, probably that would fit better to colors, but my thoughts there were a bit different, also in connections with the word "mortal" ;)

Developer(+1)

and yeah, i am going to check out youre too ;)

The level design for this game was fantastic. I'm surprised you were able to make so many entertaining puzzles with such a simple mechanic. Good job!

Developer

Yes vthanks, i had a bit of a struggle at first, but after some time ive came up with pretty entertaining ideas, even if they are not that hard, i guess. THanks for playing ;)

Submitted(+1)

I liked it a lot I just want more lol

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks a lot, probably i am going to make some more levels after the jam, lets see ;)

Submitted(+1)

The idea is quite nice, the unlimited time of changing spawn points can create infinite levels. Would be great if you can become the color of the wall.

Developer

Thanks, yes i also thought about that, and than it youzld get a bit more min blowing probably ;)

Submitted(+1)

Dang, I feel like it ended just as I was getting into it. Simple and fun. Great game!

Developer

Thansk a lot and thanks for playing

Submitted(+1)

Great game! It sounds and looks really good! The only problems that I have with it are that you can't use the arrow keys to move and when you press 'R', it takes a long time to restart the level. Overall great game!

Developer

Hey, youre right, i made the experience that most of the people liked it more to controll wiwth WASD and i had to decide for one, because for me the grid movement was quite hard to do ;)

Submitted(+1)

Love the puzzle mechanic. Simple concept that made for some fun levels, I really enjoyed it. I think if you made the respawn speed a little faster it might improve the user experience a bit, but that's just me :) Great job!

Developer

Goog thought, thanks for your suggestion ;)

Submitted(+1)

Simple and awesome concept. If i quibble I would say the failure is not so visible (but in my game neither). Though It was fun to play. Great submission.

Developer

hey, thanks for your comment, i orientated more on the undertheme and tried to make an puzzlegame, where you have to die, to win. Cool that aou liked it and thanks for your advice

Like the concept with the color coding :)!

And very simple visuals and design, but it works well and fits the challenge.

Fun to solve the puzzles!

Nice work!

Developer(+1)

THanks mate, i apperciate that ;)
