The particle effects are very appealing and the SFX are cute. I would recommend some music and it took me a while to figure out how to decrease my score but the mechanic was really interesting. Awesome game!

I absolutely love how juicy this game is, the drop shadows add so much to the artstyle.

I like how you can strategically get it even with gray background to prepare for Red Mode. I would like to know how the points are being counted, as it seems pretty random to me at this point.

The controls are tight, the gameplay is easy to learn, hard to master...overall a very good game.

Yeah, I really should’ve done more to communicate how the scoring system works, if you were wondering, you get more points the quicker you die, I show the amount of points you get for dying at any given point in the “QUICK, DIE! SCORE: [score here]” text, and I thought people would notice that the number is decreasing over time, but form seeing people play, I really should have done more  to explain

Took me a second to understand but your visuals and overall gameplay loop is surprisingly fun! (Love your itch page btw, it's gorgeous) My only suggestion is to maybe add a counter that if you sit in any one spot for longer than 2-3 seconds it kills/hurts you unless you're on "time to die"

Great game, great fun, although the timer was a little long at first, I was very confused until I saw the screenshots of the game! My only suggestions would be: a timer to show how long until the next switch, and also maybe some acceleration/deceleration on the character. Other than that, great job!

Please check out my game if you get the chance!

Developer

I originally decided against acceleration because I wanted to make the controls very tight, but now that I think about it, some very subtle acceleration would’ve help make the character feel like I’s got weight and also help the game feel more polished… idk.

About the timer, I decided against that so the player would have to react to the switches, adding the timer would also kill the risk/reward system where the player can risk losing hearts so they can die faster when they have to, at the risk of not being able to dodge well enough when they don’t have to. I will say I considered making the first switch always happen very quick so the player doesn’t get confused as to how the game works, I really should’ve added that.

Anyways, txs for the feedback :>

Amazing game, i love the visuals and the idea of the game, its a bit confusing at the beggining but i got the hang of it pretty quickly, great game overall!

This is awesome! There's a lot of strategy involved, where you have to consider if you want to stay on one heart and risk dying too early but then dying quickly easier, or if you want more hearts. And I love the visuals. Great job!

A very nice game, it was very fun to play

Hey! I have some feedback for your game.

- Firstly, music would be really nice.

- Also having a cooldown between taking damage would really help, as the particles when you take damage make it very hard to see everything, making you take even more damage that feels unfair.

Easy game:

The art was so cool! I loved it. Interesting concept. Overall I had a blast playing it, the movement was slick, and the animations were also great! Awesome game!

I like the main idea of the game, it has really nice visuals and I had fun playing it, great job!

Good idea, great visuals. Needs variety like mentioned before like increasing difficulty, start of with large slow-moving enemies then have them get smaller as the score goes down.

Love the juicy feel.

This game ROCKS! It's quick, it's fun, it's got strategy believe it or not, it needs skill and it's defenetly a kind of game idea that jonas wanted us to make!

Graphics are good with a nice color palette. I would experiment how different palettes look, since that's easy and I'm curious how the game would look in differrent clothes! (And I think I even liked the orange-purple combo when you had to die, but I would again, experiment, cuz it looks soo cool)

There isn't any music which is kinda infortunate, but the sounds that are in the game! That's a good sound design!!!

PS: It'd be nice if you played my game as well ;)

Again, thanks!
(i'm not just going to copy & paste my reply in the game page here, but yeah, thanks so much for taking the time)

Yeah I just did that cuz I wanted people to know outside the jam that this game is good xD

Nice "juiciness" and a clean style. Would like more varied obstacle patterns but a nice proof of concept in terms of getting the core idea out there for a jam.

I really liked the idea and the simple art. Cool game!

Polish is great, the visuals are awesome, the audio is noice! Would be great if there was a bit more variety of levels/enemies etc, but for a jam entry, really really good!
