Beautiful game. That little sprout is so cute.
Really dope visuals. Is the water color done traditionally or digitally? Either way it looks fantastic!
Thank you so much! They are done traditionally, with a little bit of digital cleanup and light adjustments (my camera was not ideal for the mission haha)
This is awesome! The idea of dying to progress isn't new, but this game does it well (liberal use of checkpoints so you don't need to redo stuff + still having a "game" element where there's a goal and you can't just do random stuff and succeed). The art though, whoof, really takes this over the top. The little seed is adorable!
The art is beautiful! The idea is similar to many games I've seen, but the plant/seed theme is really nice!
Wow, one of the best Ive played so far, the watercolour art, additive music and general feel was all well done.
Amazing game!! Love the art and the cuteness of the seed :>
Amazing! The best looking game in the jam. Try to change my mind I dare you.
awesome music and art, fit the theme perfectly, not too hard, and fun
Very good music and art. They complement each other very well :D Use of the sound effects were brilliant espacily the beetles. The one thing i like the most is our character. It looks so cute :D Gameplay wise i had a hard time avoiding the hoes in the farmers part but thats just my skills :d Overall very enjoyable game i applaud the team well done :D
Note:I would be happy if you could check out my game as well :d
very beautiful and peaceful, i'd like if more games had this vibe
Great game! A lot of games this jam are focused on dying in a platformer as the main mechanic, but I think this one does it the best. I loved the sense of progression and seeing which plants I could grow next and each area had its own unique obstacle which was nice, like the beetles, lotus platforming, farmers etc. Being able to choose where you spawned back in was a nice little quality of life feature as well. The graphics were also lovely and the colours used worked well - it was a very visually pleasing style. Music too was very good, nice and calming, and the sound effects worked well with the game - especially those beetle sounds. It was a great little experience, and I had lots of fun - excellent work!
unique art, the beetles are creepy as hell, nice job for the jam :)
Really like the art style in this one -- super unique, and fits the chilled-out ambiance of the game well. The gameplay was solid and felt pretty good to control, but I felt the difficulty ramps clashed against the chill vibe that the game seemed to be trying to set. Parts like trying to dodge the hoes and jumping across the river on the lilies had me dying quite a few times, and having to read a text box and choose a spawn point broke the flow of the game for me personally. Having text only appear when a plant grows at your death point would've helped the general flow of the game, but that's just my personal opinion. The seed character is super adorable, by the way, and the rest of the game was really polished.
Overall a great submission and impressive for just 72 hours! Really nice job!
Thanks, we thought about removing the dialogue at later death but out of time. The difficulty of the game is definitely something we should consider next time! Thanks for playing your game looks unique too!
I wish i could play this game, it looks so cool! sadly my laptop doesnt handle web games that well. anyways, if you dont mind could you play my game
we have a Windows version that you can download . Thanks for trying our games anyway!
oh i didnt see that, ill play and rate it now!
I just played it, and what i did play was amazing, i just got a little confused where to go, so im going to play it again later to play it fully, but i did rate it.
Really poetic and chilling game. The artwork is amazing. What a job !
I really love the art style of the game! The ambient music is so calm and relaxing and the gameplay is enjoyable. The face of the chestnut, when you jump, is adorable!
Thanks for playing! Our favorite thing of the game is that face the seed makes when jumping.
Amazing graphics!
Wow this game has an amazing look and atmosphere! I love how you made a different plant and story for each of the places to die, and the watercolor graphics are amazing. I also like how dying gives you a new spawn point which makes death not even that much of a setback.
A few points of feedback:
- The hoe section was a little bit bogus, as you spawn right next to the first hoe and instantly die if you press right at all. The third hoe is completely untelegraphed and came out of nowhere to wreck me the first time I went through that section
- Where you can and cannot jump could definitely be made a lot clearer. Sometimes what looks like solid ground is actually a background, or like the example below, the platform does not line up with the visuals at all. This is just a minor nitpick though and could be easily fixed. I think in general just try to reduce the contrast of background elements and highlight the foreground elements so it is a little clearer what the player can jump on.
Overall, this is a stellar entry, it has beautiful graphics and a cool gameplay idea, and is very polished!
PS. I loved the ways the lily pads swayed when you jumped on them
it warms my heart to see a detailed review! I'll definitely consider your suggestions! I'm glad you like the lily pads that's my favorite part of the game! I tried your game too it is awesome! I like the mechanics of using death to evolve in your game, it is smarter than mine!
beautiful graphics. good job
The game is stunningly good! Love the visuals, and the cute main character, this game communicates really strong with the player and the game is very innovative. You guys made a great job making this!
