Fun bullet hell game
Really fun! Felt like I was an AI in control of drones trying to defeat the big boss machine. I loved that there was permanence in the world where you still saw your old bodies.
A fun bullet hell game, controls felt good and upgrades after you die is a nice way to handle to topic, also loved the corpses of your previous attempts just laying there.
I like the game but I think to complete the game its better to haven`t max upgrades. Because for not so good players this would be the possibility not to try 30 times to finish the boss. I always found it motivating to get upgrades after dying but when I reached the maximums there was no more motivation which I didn't like. I also didn't like that you couldn't see the boss. You could still find it with the cross but the best tactic was to just run in a square from corner to corner. Maybe you could have made the room smaller and the projectiles slower. To see your beautiful boss ;-). Also, it would have been cool if the dead players increased the rate of fire for a short time when you walk over them. What I didn't understand was that you had to go through the small room and it didn't restart immediately.
But overall it is a good and fun game.
Good job!
I'll defninitely work this into the post-jam version
That would be nice! ;-)
Music is real nice. I really like the look of the fallen bodies for some reason. I think a little variation to the ground's texture would feel nice. Fun concept!
It took me a while to realize how to get exp since I kept getting wiped out by bullets. The indicator that shows where the enemy is located is useful but it still felt a tiny bit frustrating to get killed with no experience a bunch at the beginning without understanding why. I did like your upgrade system, though it would be nice to earn exp a bit faster in the early game or to have smaller enemies to fight before taking on the big guy so you can get exp from them first in a slightly safer environment. Nice job finishing this in time!
Don't know why I enjoyed this so much, but I did. Really enjoyed getting more and more powerful over a small period of time. Kinda wish there wasn't maximums on the stats so that you could just become infinitely powerful and defeat the boss in 1 hit. :0
The ending threw me off-guard haha! This is very neat, but I do have some slight criticisms. For one, you should make the XP gained based on the amount of bullets that hit the boss rather than the amount of damage dealt because damage upgrades are also basically XP upgrades. Additionally, the ground tiles are nauseating at high speeds (which can be fixed by making the tiles bigger). Other than that, this was fun. I especially enjoyed the boss' bullet patterns - they felt fun to dodge :)
I'm bad at this kind of games but I like the rolling mechanics so I still enjoy it :D
the game crashes when you kill yourself after the boss. thats pretty funny. I enjoyed this experience.
I LOVE the gymnastics. Constantly rolling into the boss and shooting to get upgrades, I had a lot of fun with this lol.
I like this game! Great gameplay! Good job!
Please check my game as well ;)
Very cool game, and very interesting take on the theme.
