Art is cool and there are a lot of things in this game...did you really do this from scatch in 3 days?? Did you sleep?? It also fits the theme perfectly. Puzzles were a bit too difficult, they were hard to figure out without walkthrough. They felt like the player should do random things around the map until he finds out what to do. Anyway, an impressive amount of work!

Developer

Yes, I made everything in 3 days. But at the same time it wasn't the best idea that I had xD it was pretty hard to accomplish everything. I finished the game like 30min before the deadline, I didn't sleep so much at all. This is my first Jam and I scoped sooo big. I'm proud of what I made but I know that making something SO big maybe was a mistake haha. I made everything from scratch! I believe the puzzles are a bit to tricky and they need a bit of polish, so I decided to make the walkthrough :) I want the people to enjoy the content and not to have a headache! Haha! I'm very very glad that you enjoyed, and thank you for taking your time to play it :)

I tried for a while now but I do not understand how to progress from the house. :c If you could tell me I will play the game again. :D (I won't rate it yet)

Developer(+1)

Haha it's okay! The entire game is full of puzzles! If you want to rush and see the content or need a little help there's a short walkthrough below the game :) If you want to get out of the roof... maybe you find answers on the start menu! You open it with <ESC> key. If you have time to play it one more time I will appreciate your feedback! Let me know what you think :) Thank you for your comment!

Submitted

okay, thanks for the answer! i will play your game again. Just a moment, haha. :D

Okay I have played it again now but damn it is a really hard puzzler. It is a good game but the difficulty is insane IN MY OPINION. Had to use the walkthrough a lot. That being said I love the visuals and that you made an open adventure game. It's really refreshing to play that genre. :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for playing it again!! Yes! The puzzles are very hard! It needs a lot of polish in the tips so it can be a bit more obvious. But well, till the game jam ends It's how it is haha! That's why I decided to make a walkthrough. I want everyone to have a great time while looking the content instead of having a headache haha! Thank you again, I really appreciate it :)

Submitted

Of course I played it again. It is only fair to you as the developer. I like how you thought ahead and made a walkthrough. Shows that you have a good understanding of difficulty in your game. :)

Submitted(+1)

Wow, that was amazing! The art was beautiful, the gameplay was fun and the glitches were perfectly timed. Excellent job!

Developer

I'm very glad that you enjoyed it! Thank you for taking your time to play it!

Really great job!  I got a little lost, but I will try again later for sure~  So many cool game elements here that I have no idea how to do haha.  Great job making and submitting such a cool rpg game!  Please check out my browser game if you can.

Developer

Hey! Thank you for taking your time to play my game! I'm going to check yours now! If you want a little help, below the game is a walkthrough that explains how to advance through the game :) Hope you take a time and enjoy all the content :) Thank you again!

I'm genuinely stunned that you were able to produce a full RPG with a story in a 3 day game jam. Fantastic work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much!!! It was a decision that made me hate myself after the first 7 hours of project xD But I managed to survive! Very glad that you enjoyed it!

I love this RPG game! the Graphics are crisp, controls could be more polished but, Great Job!

Dude, you made an RPG for a game jam!?!? Epic!!! Amazing, I love it. Very interesting.

Developer(+1)

Yes! Something like this! And after the first 10 hours i was like WTF I'M DOING THIS IS GOING TO KILL ME. But I survived! Hahahahaha

Submitted(+1)

is that a mutha friken Zelda reference? Hell yeah I'm down. And it's a great game as well. Good work.

I really enjoyed playing this one! The puzzles weren't super obvious most of the time, but they made more sense after reading the walkthrough. I really love your take on the theme and how you included "bugs" in the game to create puzzles. Awesome job making this in only 72 hours!

SPOILER

Also, I had to restart after the golden door one because I destroyed the floor and thought that meant I had to explore and find something. I went crazy mode and ran all over the place, then checked the walkthrough and realized there were no colliders. :/ As others have said, the puzzles could have been clearer but you 72 hours so I understand. :)

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yes! The puzzles are a bit hard to understand haha. I'm glad that you enjoyed the game. I suffered a lot while making it! xD Next time it will be more clear haha. Thank you!

Submitted(+1)

Very crazy bugs, very Intentional. I figured out the ceiling clue, but had to read the walkthrough for the left + right + x thing. Cool.

Developer

Thank you very much for taking your time for playing!

This game really stands out. Definitely one of my favorites.

Although I had to follow the cheatsheet at times, because some of those things you have to do are not that obvious.

Developer

I'm super glad that you enjoyed it! Yes! Sometimes it's not that obvious but because game jam rules I cannot polish the tips now haha. That's why I decided to put the walkthrough. I want people to enjoy the content and not to have a headache hahaha. Thank you again!

Charming little game! Took me a while to get off the roof but I figured it out!

Also, it was kinda hard to play since my keyboard doesn't have arrow keys. I'd really like it if I could move with WASD.

really good game, not that long, great art and souls, cool mechanics... that lady screaming was scary asf...

great job..

if you have any time, please check my game.

Developer

I'm glad that you enjoyed it! And that you managed to that scary point haha! Thank you for taking your time to play it! I will play your game right now

I like the splash screen... pretty cool effect. I couldn't get the little guy off the roof though... I know the theme is "glitch" but the only key respond I got were from the left and right arrows.

Developer(+1)

Hey! Yes, the game is a glitched puzzle game. In the first moment you are bugged in the roof, but the tips say that the pause menu is working. Maybe that's te answer!Thank you for taking your time for playing!

amazing game! super fun and well put together, and wonderful use of intentional bugs (took me a minute to get off the roof haha). great job!

Developer

Haha! Yet I don't know if it's easy to understand what to do at first sight but I'm happy that you find your way and enjoyed it! Thank you for taking your time for playing my game!

Great game!  I loved the visuals for this, and the bugs are extremely well executed!  Thanks btw for adding the walk through in the description, I got stuck at various points lol.  Also, how did you get the first button of a ui element to be automatically selected?  I've been trying to get that mechanic working in various prototypes of mine, and I can't figure it out.  Did you use a tool from the asset store?  If so, I'd love to know which one, 'cause I'm pulling out hair trying to figure it out lol.

I'm very glad that you enjoyed it!! Thank you for playing!! It can be a bit longer, if you need more help say me and we can contact with other method. What I did was: I created an empty game object named "buttons" on the UI and added all the buttons that I want as child elements(TextMeshPro with Button component). I created one script named "UIButtons" and added to the empty game object (the parent). What this script makes it he following: It checks with a foreach all the child elements of the transform. If the child has a button component, adds it to a list. I have a variable named currentIndex, being the index of the selected button. I use the New Input System but basically what I did is: when the player move up, it substract 1 to currentIndex, if the player moves down, it adds 1 to currentIndex. With this you have the system running selecting the buttons. To add color or effect to the one that is selected, I created a function named "SelectButton(bool isSelected)". This function takes the button[currentIndex] and add the effect. Let's name it changing the color. so if isSelected is FALSE it change the color of the text to white, if it's TRUE it change it to yellow. So the algorythm is something like this:

Variables: buttonList, currentButton, currentIndex

Awake: Search the childs that has a GetComponent<Button>() != null and add the buttons to the list.

Start: SelectButton() <- Select the first button (index 0) of the list.

MoveBtwButtons() <- Called by your input system. SelectButton(false) first to deselect the currentButton. Add or substract 1 to the current index depending the Y input. SelectButton(true) to select the new currentButton.

ExecuteOnClick() <- With this I execute the currentButton onClick with the action button of your input system :)

That's how I managed it. SelectButton() at the start will select your first element. If you need something more please ask me! Hope I explained it well!

Thanks!  That helped, I really appreciate it.  :D
