Interesting game. I'd push for bgm/sfx, it's eerily quiet. Does the projectile type matter? Sometimes they bounce away from the targets and some zoom pass the incoming targets. Also, is the incoming targets' shape matter too? The target's different colour and shape made me think they would behave differently, but I couldn't quite tell. Cool concept tho, would love to see what comes after!

Developer

Ah yeah I ran out of time :x I didn't explain it much in the game but here's some of the details xD

  • Enemies that are round can be knocked back but rest can't (if an enemy dies during a collision it explodes)
  • Rock projectiles can knock back enemies and projectiles
  • Paper projectiles pierce through enemies, stunning and dealing DOT to them but slows down each pierce
  • Scissors projectiles pierce through enemies but speed up each pierce

Thanks for playing!!

Cool concept! Nice take on the slingshot mechanic.

Developer

Thank you!! And thanks for playing!!

I really did have fun! The cat at the you win screen is awesome. If I had control over time, I would give you 4 more hours to add the Music and SFX and the game would be at least 20% better :). Great game jam game. Did manage do upgrade some passives to lvl 20, is there a max level?

Developer(+1)

Ohh thank you so much for the kind words haha. The player's max level is 20, but the passive levels are all uncapped (though I was roughly aiming for people to have ~30-50 levels for their passives) I probably need to tweak the values more because a lot of people have mentioned how it's a chore to upgrade the levels xD But yeah!! Thanks for playing!!!

Submitted(+1)

Lost the first round but figured out the upgrades, nice!

Developer

Oops xD Yeah I probably need to balance that better haha. Thanks for playing!!!

Creative game mechanics. Once the voting period is over, could you update the game and make the screen smaller? It makes it a little complicated to play. I liked the game because it is entertaining.

Developer(+1)

Aaa thanks for playing!! I might consider updating when I have the time!! But yeah I do agree that there are some issues especially with the screen size that needs fixing >__<

image.png What are the rules? I have rock/paper/scissors and the enemies are geometric shapes? So my first feedback is that the looks good and the controls are robust. Now, the idea of calling it rock paper scissors without having an “A beats B” mechanic is confusing and disorienting to players. I expected to fire the rock at something scissors shaped LOL. One thing I would change is letting a player click anywhere on the line, pull and fire the projectile from there cause it would be more fun.

It did feel more like Angry Birds so part of me was expecting enemies to sit around and wait for me to launch stuff at them and then have some kinds of physics based destruction.

The projectile (bouncing) and enemy state behavior (stunned/flashing) is solid. It is easy to see you are skilled. Good work!

Developer

Ah yeah I didn't elaborate much on it but the rules are

  • Enemies that are round can be knocked back but rest can't (if an enemy dies during a collision it explodes)
  • Rock projectiles can knock back enemies and projectiles
  • Paper projectiles pierce through enemies, stunning and dealing DOT to them but slows down each pierce
  • Scissors projectiles pierce through enemies but speed up each pierce

But yeah I completely agree with the "not having an A beats B" mechanic xD I actually had something planned for it but I ended up scrapping it because there was too much to do :x I probably could have managed things a bit better on my part :p Also yeah, I initially wanted to let the player click anywhere but I had a bug where you would click on the passive button and it would also try to fire LOL so I changed it xD

But yeah!! Thank you so much for the feedback!! And thanks for playing!!

A really great upgrade system, people saying it's fun are absolutely right, don't even worry about having no sounds, well done!

Developer

Aaa thank you for the kind words!! Thanks for playing haha

Very fun and not easy, exactly what I would want to play on mobile.

Developer

Thanks for playing!! xD

This was so much fun! Saddly it was a little bit too hard to play in the PC. But I enjoyed! So many upgrades haha

Developer

Thank you!! I'm glad you had fun haha. Also yeah I probably should have added more QoL stuff for PC controls :x

good Play..

Thanks for playing!!

Interesting game, was a bit hard to play on pc

Developer

Oop yeah :x I actually had a thing where I allowed the player to click to instantly pull back the slingshot but I don't think it really solves the problem haha. Thanks for playing!!

Submitted(+1)

Great submission! What a fun game, I would have made the upgrades fewer but increased their impact, right now it's more of a chore to upgrade, but if you don't the game get's really hard fast. I can see this being a successful mobile game if taken further.

Developer(+1)

Ah yeah! A few others have mentioned about this and I agree!! It's definitely something I'll look into if I decide to continue working on this game xD And yeah I think I really need to work on the start of the game, it ramps up a bit too fast. I don't know if I'll continue working on this but we'll see haha, thanks for playing!!

I love upgrade games so this was pretty cool - I think there should have been multi-upgrade like Shift to add x10, as the points come in huge quantities. Either that, or the level ups should give less points, and each point actually gives a bigger upgrade and impactful boost. That way, the player does not have to click so many times.

Overall, I loved the varied upgrade choices that the game provided~

Developer(+1)

Ooo yeah that is a good idea for the x10 button thing. And yeah, the balancing could probably use a bit more work so that the points are more meaningful :x Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing!!

Submitted(+1)

Love the gameplay but if you want you could change the color of the enemies   because I couldn’t see them very well at first on the blue background

Developer(+1)

AH!! Omg, that's my bad x__x yeah I should probably pay more attention to the colors in future :x Thanks for playing!!

Hi! I've played it, the game is have solid mechanics, the screenshake and all juiciness that game needs is already implemented. But there's need improvement especially on difficulties, maybe gives a time to player to upgrade and force them to upgrade instead giving an option to do. So yeah, it's all good for solo dev, good job!

Developer

Ohh yeah the balance definitely needs work :x I was considering a 3 choose 1 upgrade system on top of the passives thing where it pops up and forces them to choose an upgrade or having a longer break in-between waves so players will have time to upgrade or something. Thanks for playing!!

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

I think that idea is actually pretty neat, love the upgrades, though I think I got too many points somehow, cause I got like hundreds of them :D I wish the items that fall were also rock/paper/scissors, I think they are, but it's not super clear, visually.

Would love it if you play and review my game. Cheers!

Developer(+1)

Ah yeah :x I wanted to have different enemy types, but I ran into some design issues with them and ended up scrapping it haha. But yeah I agree that it'd fit the idea better. Thanks for playing!!
