Really lovely visuals and game idea, I very much enjoyed it. Only thing that was weird was the hit detection, I felt like everything was a little bit offsync , might've been just me though

Did you use the theme? If yes, what is your ___ in "every ___"?
"Every OTHER", you can never morph into the same shape twice in a row.
What was your team size?

Very cute, simple and clean graphics! The audio was also great! As others already mentioned in the comments, more feedback to know whether we hit or missed would be really helpful!
I think you have very good production values, from the music to the visual flair (I especially like how the shapes morph - very nice!) But for whatever reason I just couldn't get into the swing of things. I felt like I hit a lot more of the notes than the game said I did, I just didn't know when exactly I needed to hit the note. Also, the connection between the shapes on screen and the buttons I need to press didn't come naturally. I think I would have preferred to see it more like Gitaroo Man does, where the shapes fly in from the direction you need to press.
Thank you for your feedback.
When I considered how shapes would appear, I wanted to keep it simple by keeping everything in a row.
There’s been a lot of good feedback about the timing of the notes. I think it would have been good to make it more obvious when to morph (when the shapes are directly overlapping), changing the sensitivity of the scoring would have helped but I think it’s also possible that some of the shape changes may be slightly off time.
There is mapping between the order of the shapes on the keyboard and the logo of the game (the shapes actually resemble the letters in MAX somewhat) but I think it would have been better to make it more obvious to the player.
Love the concept and clean visual style. Playing on keyboard I think it might have been useful to have a visual reminder on screen of which key is which shape - I lost track a couple of times!
Why is it so cuuuuuute !!
I loved the idea ! I think it could be more complex. The max score seems unreachable to me, I hit around 800 in each levels over 1200. Even we see the cute cat face, it's a little hard to know if we're on time or not, we need a little more cute feedback.
Thank you, great idea !
Awww, it's so cute!
A lovely concept, cleanly executed. The shapeshifting transitions are very smooth and fluind, the music is incredibly groovy and the game's notes follow the music very well. I got 795 and 780 in the 2 levels respectively.
Criticaly speaking, the lack of feedback on hitting/missing a note made things a bit confusing. It took me a while to realise I have to tap a key, while being the respective shape (tap triangle while being triangle) to get a note hit. I thought I just need to be that respective shape before the note arrives over my cat to match the incoming notes, or change as the note is exactly on top of my shapeshifting cat. Not sure if that was an intentional design, or just me not playing it right. Again, a bit more visual feedback to signal 'you're doing it right' or 'you're not doing it right' would help quite a lot!
Thank you for your feedback! The confusion for how to play is my mistake, you are required to morph into the shape as closely as possible to when the shapes are aligned. I do think I could have done better to explain that and I also agree with giving more positive/negative feedback to the players based on timing.
Those are actually pretty decent scores! I was quite tired from making the game and hearing the songs over and over that I never got round to doing a full play of the levels competitively.
Great game! The visuals and music fit very well. I did have a bit of a hard time remembering which keyboard buttons to hit to swap which was mostly since triangle looks like an up arrow, which is a bit counter intuitive, but that's a nit pick since its easy to get used to after a bit. One thing that could have made this feel better would be some visual or auditory feedback when you hit the notes correctly, like maybe a screen shake for correct hits or some bad sound if you miss?
Overall fun game though!
cute game AYAYA
nice to see so much variety and challenge from simple elements. the scoring is a bit weird though. great soundtrack!
interesting game, very cute! I saw it mentioned by others but yeah some feedback to show how player did in a beat would be helpful!
Very creative visuals and a surprisingly fitting soundtrack. The only real problem I found was that the scoring system seemed a bit inconsistent, seemingly giving 0 points for notes for long periods time (though, this was also after I drained all my points from trying to press the same shape twice). More feedback when a note is hit would also be nice.
Loved the visuals and the music! Very cute game. If you can, go play our game, we wpuld appreciate it :D
super jazzy tho u should expand on it and make the combos react😂
So I enjoy the shape changing, super smooth and cute animation. For some reason when I am under pressure I forget which shape is which key. Maybe a lane system might help that.
Cute! There's one point in the second song that has two squares in a row, but I enjoyed changing the shape as the song played.
