  • Incredible game and concept for such a short timeframe, it gets really difficult at level 8 hah. My only pet peeve is no music, but other than that, I really enjoyed this little game! Good job!

How does the game fit into the theme?
The player only has one dash and one live

This is really fun and the gimmicks are very creative! But also... contact damage... my worst enemy.... *dies

Still really enjoyable tho, the difficulty curve seemed quite fair, and I didnt feel that it was too difficult to aim contrary to some other comments here, but maybe it's because I'm used to the 8-directional dash in celeste. My only gripe is to make the contact damage hitbox a bit more generous, but that's an easy fix!

Really fun! The gameplay is balanced and the progression in difficulty seems fair.

The minimalist assets just look so good and polished, and this dash feels so satisfying, as well as the particles!

It makes me want to create a game in pico8, keep it up!

I gotta say I had quite the fun time! it was a bit tricky to control at points but honestly it's really fun! and the fact its in Pico-8 too is sick! really impressive for 72 hours! and the art is amazing!!

overall a great job! if you do make a full game (which i really say you should!) maybe tweak the controls a bit to make it easier to aim? that's the only thing, you did a great job!!

love this art aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I'm not the biggest fan of the gameplay, feels a bit too rough around the edge for me, got frustrated really fast but
THAT ART IS CRISP AS HELL
Gorgeous

Cool artwork and fun concept! It was a bit challenging for me to aim, but it's still a great entry. Good job!

I love the concept and the art!

Aiming could be made easier - I found trying to aim while simultaneously dodging attacks very difficult. On a similar note, I think it could be made more clear that you don't have to aim. Perhaps it was just me, but I spent a long time on one level before realizing that it wasn't required to.

Great work!

I really dig the artwork. There's almost something Animal Well about. The lo-fi cartridge CRT look is really nice. The idea fit right on theme, and I think there's a really interesting mechanic here to explore further. I wish the dash was connected to the mouse and could be aimed that way, but I realize not all Pico-8 has mouse support.

very cool concept with great artstyle, the controls could've been better. Great game tho

Really nice entry! My only gripe is that i wish the aim/release was the same button for a less clunky gameplay experience

Looks great. I don’t know what are the pico8 restrictions in terms of music but maybe it needs a little soundtrack. Is the red laser only for guidance or does it have an effect on the dash? I found myself “charging” it not not sure if that was needed.

Its to be able to walk in any direction and still aim to the direction you "locked in", thanks for playing

Lots of fun, and a great consistent look.

Audio feels incomplete, like I wanted more “kasplish!” when the monsters explode.

Also, maybe a stupid question, but the level that says “end” is the end, right?

Developer

Thanks for playing, yes it says end. Congrats on finishing the game :)

Cool game, love the graphics, don't get where the theme fits in tho

The game looks like the real thing from some cartridge from old consoles like the NES. Very cool!

Fun game! Really like the aesthetic too, good job!
