That was pretty out there, I like it. It creates a lot of tension, I've never seen the movie "It Follows", but after playing your game, I'm wanting to check it out. Awesome, especially for your first game!!

Incredible atmosphere.

this was really cool. the brightness was a little unleashed. but i really felt paranoid walking around thinking one of these innocent people want to kill me. is it you. and i pointed the gun at a guy because he looked at me funny and i thought it was him. apologized and moved on.

also the menu was kinda confusing. click to continue doent really fit with several hidden timers. left me waiting/think it would start soon, followed by clicking a bunch and wondering if it was broken. but the game was great.

I wish i could download it. Playing on the browser is not working for me.  It's not locking the mouse inside the window properly. Fullscreen doesnt work either :/

don't really care for the horror genre myself.  However I feel the game was well done.  Only complaint was that I couldn't see that I picked anything up.  If it wasn't for the item list on the right, I wouldn't have known that I picked anything up.

Oh dear God, this game is far scarier than I anticipated. Despite being really primitive, it is one of the scariest horror games I've ever played. My spine tingled every time I saw one of those things. I found the bullet, then ran into a building and saw 2 chests. I opened the chests hoping to find the gun, but they were empty. So I turned around, and there IT was. Standing in the doorway, blocking my only way out. But for some reason, IT didn't come into the room with the chests. IT just stood there, blocking the doorway. I eventually tried to walk past IT, but IT killed me. Wow, 10/10. And I'll say, even though this game could use some larger levels and crowds for more advanced players, it feels pretty complete as it is. You could honestly just post it in its current state, and I bet streamers would have a blast with it.

The atmosphere is strong with this one. Noise effects and lack of textures make it difficult to navigate through the enviroment sometimes but it adds to the experience of being followed and frantically trying to run away.

Thanks a lot for the feedback!

Yeah, I was considering toning down the visuals for a while, but honestly I don't think the gameplay would stand up if you could see clearly :L Obscurity is a pretty easy way of doing horror, but its still pretty effective... like how the second you got a look at the shark in Jaws, it stopped being a terrifying threat that lurks beneath the deep and was just... a big silly rubber shark :P

If I keep working on the project, I think it would be interesting to see if I could put together a clear and readable visual style and still make the gameplay mechanic frightening.

Best of luck to you with it! I actually streamed your game to a couple of my friends in discord and it was a lot of fun. We made jokes about how IT wants to eat the player and the player (judging by his shadow) is actually a sausage. So it all makes sense!

And to be honest it is probably my favorite game of this jam so far (speaking only as half of DashingAshes team, my partner has his own tastes).

Found gun. Found bullet. Shot at scary thing. Realized scary thing wasn't the thing I needed to kill. IT becomes hungry. IT chases me. Frantically looks for another bullet. Turns corner. Gets eaten. 10/10 would get eaten again.

Haha, awesome! If anything was done frantically, then my mission was accomplished :D

I'm not going to continue playing this at night. I'll return tomorrow.

Great atmosphere, very scary!

Thanks man, glad it was able to do you a spook! When I was working on it I knew it was either going to be creepy or so low quality it just became funny... pleased it was the former for at least some people :P
