Played this, started pretty interested, lost it a bit towards the end, but not bad at all.

  • I like the clicker concept and it's not a bad match on the engine (or at least It was not noticeably clunky)
  • As a suggestion on how it works, I would prefer if there was a way to "hold" to keep upgrading, a button to cycle though the party, and some way to re-read the effect of each skill (maybe by hovering?)
  • The story didn't mean much to me but thankfully it was tucked out of the way most of the time and easy to ignore.
  • Presentation wasn't bad, not too cluttered, and the little reviving people hitting the eggwas kind of adorable.
  • My hand did start to hurt once the time constraints were introduced. Overall I'm not a fan and I prefer clickers more as a relaxing side-activity, so here is where the game went a bit south for me.
  • The last stage was too much for me. I wasn't super clear on what I had to do, so after a couple tries failing, I gave up.  I don't have enough attention to detail and snap judgement, it seems, and generally I do not enjoy time attacks.
  • I would have loved (tho not expected, its more work and a design choice) to have some sort of casual or relaxed difficulty mode where the time limits don't exist or are much looser. Generally my capacity to pay quick attention to many different elements apparently isn't so good, and I was noticeably stressed and annoyed by the later stages demanding so much of me, in a "physical" (sight/reaction) sense.

Sadly the game just didn't go in the direction I would have enjoyed (a longer and more relaxed thing), but fair enough, I didn't make it and it's not necessarily for me.

Overall I'd say this is a success, at least in the mechanics of turning RPG maker into a decent clicker format.

Thanks for the detailed feedback, Indrah! Certainly some things to consider there.

Hey there KV_Kingdom, I got your game for judging so here are some of my thoughts. I'm a sucker for a good clicker/idle game, so you can imagine how pleased I was to see this game! The mechanics work pretty well and the silly story is perfect for the game, all while still giving the player a challenge so they can't just coast through the game to a good ending. I managed to defeat the demon king my first playthrough and then had to play it again to see what would happen if I didn't do anything (and I wasn't disappointed!).

I did have a few problems with the controls, where I would think I clicked on a skill and move to the next party member, only to realize that I must've missed. Having the button area be larger, such as including the skill name, could be nice but isn't a necessity. What I really would have liked is a number under each party member so that I could know exactly how much damage everyone was doing. I know I could estimate going off the number of times I clicked a skill, but there's just something fulfilling about seeing the damage amount for each character go up separately. It also could've helped when I was panicking towards the end of the time limit, so that I could more easily tell who needs buffed. But those are just nitpicks, it's clear that you had a goal for this game and you nailed it.

Overall, this was a fun and definitely unexpected game to play. It does seem like you could do even more with this idea and tweak certain things to make it an even more fun and crazier adventure, so if you decide to stay with this idea for a little longer I'd love to see what comes next!

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you liked it!

I am, in fact, considering continuing this project. I'll be sure to let you know if it ends up happening. 🙂

There originally were indicators under each character showing their power progress, but I took it out because I felt it was redundant and it made some players think they were clickable elements. I'll think about how to bring it back to the HUD while avoiding confusion when planning the future iteration.

Thanks for the feedback!

This is a very simple, but satisfying game. Thanks for sharing this with us!

Very short and very fun game!  It's really satisfying to level up your team and use the spells and see how many points you can accumulate!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, Knightly. Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂

Really impressed with what you pulled off here. It's just so satisfying to click everything. I got a little confused by the final boss mechanics and just ended up using my old method of boosting everyone's charge and mana and doing ultimate attacks.

I did replay and find the phoenix attacks really impressively evented, though unecessary to win (or is that the key to another ending?). I'm certain the judges will love your fast paced, out of the box game!

That was hilarious! X°D

Every level you've something new to use so the game encourages you to continue! I totally would see this on mobile, good job!

Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the feedback.

Even though i don't play Clicker games, i quite liked this one.

Clickers are not well seen by players, but this one has the right amount of balance and duration on it. So, I had some fun with it!
The plot is really simple, but makes me laugh every time everybody dies. XD

Sadly I got a bug where max MP won't reset every match, so I won effortlessly against the final boss

Developer

😀Awesome, glad you enjoyed the game so much!

That MP bug is probably for the best because otherwise the Demon King is nearly impossible to defeat - I have yet to defeat it in my test runs, and I know all the tricks! 😅

So I got the chance to replay this... I have to say you did an amazing job with this! This new version is so much better!

- I love you added the tutorial in the beginning

- I love that you made the egg hatch each time you won. This was a great way to add a sense of accomplishment after each stage.

- I love that you added multiple endings. I definitely was not expecting that!

Thanks for playing this game so much and the advice you gave earlier!

This is such a super fun idea and very impressive.

Since you mentioned you updated, I figured I'd play through the browser version once more and now the MP does carry over, making everything pretty easy from level 3 onwards. I didn't even need Phoenix to defeat the Demon boss this time. It's a minor thing, but since 9999 was the max for MP, it was weird to have skills go over that at a certain point.

All in all very creative and cool entry :D

Developer

I wonder why MP carries over from level to level. It’s not supposed to do that, but on the other hand it’s good that it does or the Demon King would behave been virtually impossible to defeat!

Anyway, glad you enjoyed my game again. 🙂 Thanks for the feedback!

Once again another interesting and fun concept by KV. I enjoyed this though my arm hurts from all the clicks.

This is a very fun and engaging clicker game! I must say it works as a fun mobile game you can play to pass the time and enjoy the moment. I also love how the Rpgmaker engine is utilized to build such a fun system. Great job KV! 😊❤️

🤩Thanks, Starmage! ❤️ I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Pretty fun but also pretty frustrating. Buttons seem unresponsive at times and I was never sure how to use the more powerful spells as their number was higher than the characters' numbers and sometimes when I clicked them they did something and other times they didn't. Story was decent and the boss battle at the end was a nice change of pace. This definitely isn't a relaxing clicker game, so if you're looking for short bursts of mindless tapping, this ain't it. Pretty neat to see just how far from an RPG you can get with RPG Maker, and a good use of the theme of the jam.

Thanks for playing and leaving feedback, mobiusclimber.

A fun short clicker game that is much more fun playing on the phone because the buttons are much easier to respond there.

The presentation is alright, the story is okay but the overall game loop makes this game replayable, which is a highlight.

Well done.

💖Awesome, thanks Berry!
