Nice little platformer. Would deserve a nice music and a couple sound effects. ;)
cute little game! I like how the rising water changes the movement between jumping and swimming, it’s a cool idea and you executed it well. the movement feels great, but I think it’d feel even better with variable jump height. I love how the water is just the Godot sprite, that’s really funny. overall short and sweet entry!
PS: you can enable screenshots on your game page via Edit Theme -> Screenshots.
Solid platformer! I like the idea, though the water would sometimes mess up my movement in a weird way if I barely touched it. Solid work!
ribbit. ribbit. nice gameplay! ribbit.
I was still trying to beat the water when I reached the win screen!
Really nice use of jump and water mechanics! Was very fluid to play! Thanks for making this.
I beat it! Nice work.
Fun little game, defiantly felt like i was a frog there! sliding and slipping all over the place!
im glad you liked the slipery movement, many people did not.
Great platformer ! Was happy to see that the water was, again, our beloved sprite :'D
Would've loved some sound or a oxygen bar ! Great first entry by the way =)
i mean its my first entry on gwj but i've been making games consistently for like 2 years now.
And about the timer. I considered it, but personally don't think the games needs it. You are already in a hurry cause you gotta get to the end before the water rises, so adding a timer would just be an anoyance.
Fun game! I like the movement controls, especially the feeling of momentum when you come out of the water. Could use a little more clarity for the game-over/retry condition, like an oxygen bar going down or some kind of effect that shows the end is coming. Currently the restart feels abrupt.
yes i wanted to better show the olayer when they restart and when they win, but didn't have time.
The moment you die is when the water gets to the top. With the test i did, people got that concept so i didn't telegraphed it more clearly cause as you have limited time you have to choose to work on and what to leave as is.
Yay, I beat it! I love the giant Godot logo in the water. Classic Godot dev :)
Great work! Happy to see another 2D platformer in the Game Jam. Would love to see more of your work.
Fun game! I like the sense of urgency that the water rising provides and it was fun platforming around as a frog. I was cracking up when I first noticed the water is just a giant godot logo lol. Some music and SFX would've really elevated the experience I think. I would've totally kept playing if there were more levels, nice work!
thanks for the review. I was gonna play your game but my wifi isn't working, so i will do it tomorrow.
I never told this but i have a plaque infection, and yesterday i used my rest time by playing games. But today i couldn't get anti-infamants so i was really tired and laid all day in bed. I promise tomorrow i will play your game
Cute game, I really like the frog animation, and it took me a couple of levels to realize that the water was actually the godot logo, nice touch. Maybe consider a limit to how long the frog could stay underwater (like an air meter) to give the player some urgency. Great job!
Interesting idea, I think the controls could be more responsive but awesome work
What exactly do you don't like? That they are too slippery? or what? i made the controls not to tight on porpose so that it is more of a motor challenge and not only going around the map jumping. But i reieved a simmilar feedback from a friend, so i could probably review that.
thanks for the feedback.
now that i realise, we gave the exact opposite feedback to each other jajaj. i guess we have our own styles jaja.
That was surprisingly fun!
Controls were nice too :)
The godot face as well rofl.
Lowkey banger game
I had fun, the only thing missing is a bit of audio.
Great job!
yeess, i couldn't get the audio on time jaja. would have been good to have the guy who made your audio with me jaja.
This game was very cute, the froggy animations were adorable. I could totally see this being built on top of for more froggy adventures. - ANTIHERO Harley
A cool way to interpret the theme! I love the frog sprite and animations, they're very clean! I did encounter a way to get out of the map for the second level as there's a gap in the blocks that I don't think are intentional? But apart from that, it's a cool concept for a game! Definitely keep going with the idea and make more! (And I did also, immediately laugh the second I realised it was icon.svg, such a great use for it lol)
yes, i noticed it but i had to submitt and the deadline was ticking. Im glad you liked the animations, i had a good time making them, finding frog reference and stuff. and the icon.svg stuff, it was a placeholder at the beggining but i found it funny so i leaved it, and the guys in the discord loved it to so i decided to put it in the actual game jaja.
Nice! The level design was very reasonable for a jam game. The first few levels were simple, but the last one took a couple attempts. Some sound would have been nice.
I did chuckle when I saw that the water was icon.svg,
It has frogs so it's a 10/10.
Cute little game! I like how the water both adds tension and also helps you catch back up!
yes, i really liked how the water mechanic ended up. i only though of it in order to add tension, but it also helped make a negative feedback loop that doesn't make you dump the run at a minimal error, total serendipity jaja
Fun game, the take on the theme is good and had fun playing it.
