Fun game! I like the concept a lot and could see it leading to some really interesting puzzly levels. The art is cute and it controlled pretty well, tho I did get stuck inside the trees hitbox and a wall when it was growing one time and had to restart the level. Overall I had fun playing thru, great work!
Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
Great game. A few bugs and QOL issues like pressing escape just resulting in a black screen. Or getting stuck between wall and tree.
The squirrel controls felt a bit hard, I don’t think it should’ve slided on the platform. And the acorns rotating was nice and felt real, however sometimes they would roll too far.
In any case, nice concept!
Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
You nailed the theme!
It would have been nice to:
But I liked that you could mario over the top of level 3 without using any resources haha.
And I think you did better than me this jam. Even though we were both going for platformers :)
Nice job!
Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback.
Well done, the game holds a good concept. I encounter some bugs (watering zcorn not working if too close from the wall, got stuck couldn't jump), but it's playable and fun. Did you do all the assets and sound by yourself ?
Anyway congrats :)
Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I did all the pixel art and another team member did the music. The sounds came from splice.com.
Nice, that's quite impressive, code+game design+music+artwok, only two, well done !
I like the audio. The music has a vibe to it and the detail when landing and moving.
I got stuck in the second level, see the image:
Really cute entry! The chill music is really nice and it’s a unique mechanic. I don’t know if it’s my ultra wide monitor, but I had a lot of trouble clicking and watering, still made it to the end though. I loved getting loaded up on water at the end, it’s just fun to go ham.
Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
Really interesting idea with growing trees to finish the level. You can definitely expand this idea in the future!
Thanks for playin'!
It’s an interesting mechanic, but in my opinion, in current form it greatly limits level design.
Fun little puzzle platformer. I enjoyed the tree-growing mechanic idea to solve the levels. And restricting the water added additional consideration for the player to calculate. Great work!
Thanks for playin'!
I love squirrels. 3rd level has mario-esque shortcut which was fun. Adding squirrel noises would have been really great. Fun little game.
Thanks for playing. I hear ya on the squirrel noises. We'll definitely add those if we take this further.
I really like the idea here. Plus Squirrels are just so awesome! The levels were fun but I got stuck on like the fourth one. The Acorn would not plant. But it was a lot of fun. Good work!
Thanks for playin' and thanks for your feedback. There's a bit of a bug with the acorns not planting so that one's on us :p
I like this idea, it's clever! I did run into issues where the acorns wouldn't plant when I would drop them on the ground but maybe that was user error
Thanks for playing. And the acorns not planting is a known bug, so it's definitely our fault :)
Very cute! I managed to beat it, though I did cheat on the third level :)
Ah you found the secret route ;) Thanks for playin'!
I'm not sure if being able to Mario World 1-2 the third level was intended, but I'm sure my squirrel appreciated getting to keep the acorns regardless :]
Haha we noticed that during play testing. Decided to let it be ;) Thanks for playin'!
The acorns didn't seem to always want to sprout, but it was easy enough to restart the level and try again. A nice simple concept with the potential for some very clever level design! Nice job!
Thanks for playin'!
I had some issues with the watering mechanic. It just sometimes didn't seem to work. Good though that there was a quick restart mechanic and it usually fixed itself on a level restart,
Thanks for the feedback !
