Game Description
Survive the winter! You must earn enough money to feed your family. The further you go the greater the reward. However, the more you carry the slower you move. What will be your strategy?

How does your game tie into the theme?
The main character must carry the weight of feeding his family, while also carrying the literal weight of the gold he is harvesting to feed his family. If you choose to overload on gold, you may be too slow to return home before your savings are lost.

I really liked every aspects of this game, going from the graphics and the SFX to the gameplay loop and the concept. Nice Job!

PAPA! Loved the mix of art and audio! The baby sounds were great! The difficulty was tough, couldn’t imagine trying it on the hard difficulties, I could hardly stay on pace, I’m sure there is a balance of going for the further away higher value ones, but I just couldn’t figure it out after a few runs. Overall nicely done!

Nice game. I love the art style. Well done :)

Great Concept, I tried to go for two extra babies on the first run and it was a hard mistake lol, maybe scale the difficulty down a bit

What a great execution, even the details like difficulty setting reflected with amount of children in the background. The game itself is fun and looks beautiful and I find the theme/objective very interesting and original, well done!

Very nice harvester simulator. I really like how number of kids is changing when I change difficulty. But it was very hard for me to start playing, because when I start a new game first time everything was black, all objects, and only after some time lighting appear, in the way that  Ithink that may be a bug

I loved the pixel art and sound effects. As for the gameplay, I think it's fun to solve the puzzle and find the best possible route. Maybe replaying the game would be even more fun if gold nugget locations were randomized at the start of the winter so you would have a different puzzle every time.

The game feels very polished and I didn't have any technical issues. Well done!

I really liked the art style a lot and the concept of the game was awesome! One of the few games here where I really tried multiple runs to win. I thought it was original, fun and tied in well with the theme!

Very cool, polished game. Looks finished and ready for more content. Great job!

Nice game that got me to make tricky decisions about when to head back that I often got wrong! The arts tyle and music went well with the theme!

The concept is great, loved the small detail that the character slouches according to the weight. Got 99/100 load  in a run and moved one pixel per frame though

Love the menu difficulty settings where the number of kids in the house is changing. It made me laugh :)

Cozy graphics, nice music and effect. Good Job!

these kids are really hungry

Great art. Great concept. The little face saying papa hits me right in the heartstrings. Then it gets dark.

Masterclass in effectively and efficiently conveying a specific emotion and aesthetic.

this was fun! my kids died a lot, but that's okay because just being in the game was nice!

the look and feel of the game was definitely a pro, it had really nice vibes. sometimes my man did not want to go down the ladder but we got there.

nice work!!

Was fun. The first play through, I didn't understand what I was supposed to be doing until there wasn't enough time left. The second run I did considerably better, but just barely ran out of time. Found the sweet spot of load to succeed and got a win the 3rd try.

Really loved the art style and the music was nice.

The ladders were a bit rough. I would be almost up a ladder, start queuing my 'a' or 'd' and it would knock me off the ladder to the floor I was just on. Could perhaps set the ladder to be auto-climbed once you're on it, or if we want to go back down, make us use the down key until we touch the floor.

Great first submission!

Copied from itch.io page:

God I feel terrible after that. Well done ;D Pros:

  • Intuitive
  • Sweet art style and music (and baby sounds)
  • Cool mechanic

Cons:

  • No win state? Unsure as I could not manage to survive long
  • Baby requesting food made me think I needed to prepare a specific recipe

really nice artwork and cool game. I found the html web build to be unresponsive at times.

Nice game, I enjoyed playing. The art is great!

Maybe I missed it, but wasn't sure how much or how often gold was substracted from my total. It made it hard to tell how soon I need to get back
