Not my kind of game, but very nice and calming. The music set the mood perfectly. Really liked it. The drawing mechanic worked well and after some time I even found some planets :D
I found this to be a very relaxing “game”! I enjoyed the setting very much. When games include hand-drawn texture elements, such as in the notebook of this game, I think it just brings the game closer to being something more personal, if that makes sense. The drawing of the constellations, while very simple, I can see being amazingly relaxing and, if the game had a save feature, something that would allow a “player” to fill out their own “space” to come back to and relax. Love it!
I really have nothing that I find “wrong” with the game in any way. Everything I think it set out to do was done very well. The only thing, in my opinion, that would make this game just that much better would be VR. I can easily see someone strapping on the headset and a pair of head phones and just escaping to this little mountain top with their (the player’s) constellations. If the user could also write in the notebook the place would be perfect, in my humble opinion!
Excellent work!!
Really original piece. I love the chill vibes and drawing constellations. There was some nice storytelling through the notebook that you don't often see in game jams. Great work.
Very nice and peaceful game. Definitely original and not something I saw in the jam before.
I enjoyed looking through telescope, discovering stuff and searching for planets.
I hoped that you could zoom even more to see more details of the planets.
There was small bug: I played in full screen and when I want to stop using telescope I pressed ESC and the mouse cursor show up. Since that time I couldn't rotate camera, because game didn't captured mouse movement outside of the window. I just restarted the game and it worked fine.
Overall very nice experience. Congratulation!
Can I ask you to check out my game and leave some feedback? Thank you in advance and see you in the comment!
Thanks for playing and I am glad you enjoyed it. I will try to fix some of the major bugs in an update this weekend (and I already commented on your really cool game some time ago :D).
Really nice game. I particularly like the tactile elements of it, especially the, for the most part, lack of UI elements, as well as the lack of the mouse cursor and the use of the human hand instead. I'm sure this would make for a great VR game too.
I liked finding the different planets outlined in the old notebook. I tried to draw some of the constellations present in the notebook as well, but I'm sure I drew them in the wrong place. I'm not sure I can figure out the secret, to be honest... but I enjoyed exploring the parts of the game that I could find.
I liked that there were a couple different mechanics in the game--the drawing, the notebook, and the telescope--but not an overabundance of interactive elements. I think the game strikes a nice balance between variety and focus.
Really nice and original game! As an astronomy enthusiast, I really enjoyed playing your game. It takes some time to get used to the controls though. Congrats!
Really loved playing it. My pc had a hard time running it, but it was still so fun.
This is such an interesting idea. I like the atmosphere - the pace and the music were very relaxing!
The controls were a bit weird - it took me a while to figure them out, and even then sometimes the slow mouse movement meant i couldn't look where i wanted before hitting the edge of the screen - perhaps that's just a problem with the browser version though.
Good and original interpretation of the theme! I tried to create a carrot constellation but it looked more like a dick.
I almost missed the arrows at the bottom of the notepad and you didn’t mention that right click removes the previous drawn line. It was easy to draw connections though.
Feels quite Life is Strange-ish, could be in a mini-game in such a game.
The audio fits the ambiance nicely.
oh and also you don’t support more than 1080p screens with the downloaded version, it looks like this:
Thanks for playing. I will check out whats going on with the resolution. That seems indeed quite strange.
"I tried to create a carrot constellation but it looked more like a dick." Probably good that you didn't play it on stream then :D
Awesome and chill experience :)
The overall atmosphere created with that skybox and music is really relaxing, and i had fun doodling random madeup constellations, the fact that you let the player name them is the best part :p
and the planets discovering is also really cool where you have to use the notes to locate them with the telescope,
on that, not sure if it's a bug but it was cool anyway, one i zoomed and discovered the 1st planet the zoom level stayed outside the telescope so i was able to see the others without the clues
Anyway, beautiful entry :)
Oh, thats definitely a bug! Thanks for pointing it out to me. I will fix that as soons as the jam is over. Glad you enjoyed it :)
Haha XD i thought it probably wasn't normal to see the planets keep their size after looking outside the telescope, but it was more fun than anything truly gamebreaking to be honest
A very relaxing game, I had a lot of fun finding the planets and constellations.
Beautiful graphics, nice entry.
This is a really nice change of pace from the other entries. Nice and zen.
Awesome work, this was really cool and original, it's clear you loved the idea of this experience. I loved the little notebook, but I do have one takeaway for future work... Accessibility wise, the contrast on the notebook is quite poor, and as a result it's hard to read. For people with worse eyes than mine, I think it'd be unreadable.
Thank you! I totally agree about the notebook, if I had more time I would have redone it. May I ask if you played it in browser or as download. For some reason the HTML export version has much worse contrast.
I played in browser :) I was wondering about that because the contrast seemed to be much better in a screenshot I saw
"none, but you can draw a carrot in the sky" hahaha! This was peaceful.
Same as previous poster. no idea but felt really calming in some way...
Yeah, it is mostly about a playground where you can relax, draw stuff, try to identify planets, and find one more hidden thing. I think, I will update the description to be a bit more clearer. Thank you for your feedback :)
Honestly, i had no idea what i was doing...i was just drawing cool looking constellations and naming the funny names lol. But definitely a unique and interesting idea.
Thank you for playing! And you did the right thing, it's all about drawing cool stuff and giving it silly names :D
There is one 'secret' to find, though, related to some shapes indicated in the notebook.
