Haha, this is definitely a game for the ultra-determined!
I don't think fighting with controls is a great thing though—I’d suggest simplifying them (at least keeping movement to one plane). The 3D thinking plus reversed controls when the camera flips feels too mind bending for me.

Maybe control hands with mouse by dragging them and can make them freeze to switch between hands, but idk

Developer(+1)

You're right, and the controls should be improved if we want to make this a full game. However, having 3 dimensions is absolutely crucial in a physics based game like this, I think. But don't worry, we have some ideas on how to improve it! :)

After reading the comments, I agree the game needs a better tutorial. The key is guiding players to understand your design thinking through simple, structured steps before throwing them into the full experience

That said, this was made during a game jam—it’s completely understandable these polish elements weren’t prioritized. Great work regardless, and good luck if you choose to develop this further!

Omg I was able to tie my laces in the 2nd attempt!!

I will give some feedback just cause I can: THE TUTORIAL SCREEN. Dawgs think of readability, I know the game is suposed to put you in a place of "your body is a mech and you will pilot it" but soome more semblance of order there could help.

Aside from that, excelenteeeee

Developer(+1)

We have some ideas on how to make the controls more readible! But for this jam we unfortunately had to move fast and couldn't afford to think longer about the controls than we already did. It's certainly one of my regrets. We will update after the jam though. Thanks for the suggestions!

Wow. Very original idea. Reminds me how bad I really am at tying shoe laces lol. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! But don't doubt yourself! You can do it!

Submitted

Really nice idea and implementation.  I was not able to tie a proper butterfly knot, which demonstrates the Centipede's Dilemma perfectly.

Developer

Sis you manage to do it with a different knot?

Submitted

Incredible Physics! This is basically already way better than qwop. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, hope you managed to tie your shoes!

Submitted

Gonna be honest, this game is amazing
Very cool that the 3D run very well on the page
But I gonna be honest😭 ITs very hard to me make a tie

I suggest three things

1- Let the controls on the tutorial similar with a keyboard, to be more visible
2-A tutorial in-game (instead just in page) could be perfect ro the players understand all 100%
3-Put some Gifs about the gameplay to see how its done the tie

But still a very cool idea of interpretation
Great Job!

Developer

Very good suggestions! We will definitely implement those!

Submitted

Sheeshhhh, what a great interpretation of idea. Ehhh, I took the controls put them to side tab, then could play it. But was able to tie a lace. Loved it maannn, really. would appreciate an effort if you could look into my game too.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing my game, I hope you enjoyed it! I'm proud of you for tying your shoes!

I will look at your game during lunch break too!

Submitted

Very cool interpretation of the concept and quite fun :D

Developer

Thank you! Did your laces stay tight?

Submitted

Still working on that xD

Submitted

I like the idea. nice job

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you! Did you win?

I think this is the first game I've seen in the jam with this theme, very creative! The controls were too difficult for me though, I only managed to cross the shoelaces before my brain fried trying to figure out the rest haha

Developer

Yeah it's very difficult, but I believe I  you! You can tie your shoes!

Submitted

The controls are so so hard, but that's what makes it fun! Nice interpretation of the theme, sorry but I don't have any suggestions for you that haven't already been mentioned by others in the comments. Very good submission though, well done!

Developer

Yes we already received a ton of good feedback! Glad you enjoyed it! :)

Submitted

Very cool concept and game! I enjoying it a lot.

Developer

Thank you very much.

Submitted

Cool concept, the controls fried my brain a little but i got the hang of it...

... i think.

Developer

Did you tie your shoes?

Submitted

Pure evil, but also so much fun! I would love it if the controls could be in-game some way, so I didn't have to change screens constantly! Maybe you could put the keys on each finger, so I know what to press?

Developer(+1)

That would be cool as an accessability feature (we all know Mark loves those)

Developer(+1)

I definitely did consider leaving the controls on screen during the game.

Looks like surgeon simulator but with a shoe

Developer

We were definitely inspired by such games.

Developer

Someone once told me that tying your shoe is not exactly brain surgery, but these comments make me think it's just as hard! So in that sense, it is EXACTLY like surgeon simulator.

Submitted

Good idea! I had to figure out the controls for a couple of minutes :)

Developer(+1)

Yeah the controls are tricky! But hopefully you enjoyed it when you got the hang of it!

Submitted

Amazing idea. Damn hard to control but that is part of the fun. Nice rope physics!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! The rope physics are part of Obi Rope, an asset for Unity, but the implementation was done (painstakingly) by us!

Submitted

Never quite seen a game like this before! Entertaining and challenging, with a simple goal which remained tragically out of reach for me haha. Well done!

Developer

It's never out of reach! I believe in you!

Submitted

Very cool idea! Although, I didn't quite understand why you need to control each finger, it seems that one is enough if you have a pin (it's a powerful tool). I really liked the quality of the rope simulation. In the future, I would like to see other levels with simple operations, for example, cooking? Like how to carefully break an egg and drop it on a frying pan or something like that.

Developer

I haven't managed to do the official loop swoop and pull knot without using at least three fingers on the right hand haha, but maybe you're right. We're still looking into how the controls can be refined for a full release.

Submitted

I think these kind of games are hilarious and I always have fun with them, even if I can never win, haha.

Developer(+1)

But you CAN win! I know you can!
