How does your game fit the theme?
Each level loops horizontally like Pac-Man. There is an added literal twist in that it can be a mobius loop. The cicada theme also fits since the goal of the main character is to complete the cycle of life

I love how the levels loop ! The puzzles were hard but not overly so it was quite fun !

creepy and fun

That was quite interesting how the level would loop around on itself. I got stuck in one level because I closed a door behind me that I couldn't open anymore. A reset button would be nice. Also I think the game could use a bit more puzzles that make you think. Now it was mostly just looking for the next rock until you can get your seed. (although that's what got me trapped so maybe I just did it wrongg hahaha)

You can press R to restart the level. I did put that in intentionally because I felt it was too easy so there needed to be a path that didn't lead you to the goal. I Could have done a better job but time was running out, haha. Thank you for playing <3

By the way, it would be great if you could also rate my game :)

Well done on your entry. Fun game, and we liked the flipping and looping mechanisms.

Developer

Thank you for playing <3 I'm glad you enjoyed it

I really want to see the Klein bottle style sequel!

Developer

I've already considered that, haha! Thanks <3

Vite in a game jam is actual insanity. Great job!

Developer

Haha thank you <3 I definitely won't do it again. It was totally worth it but I spent too much time programming the game so didn't have enough time to really experiment with the mechanic and design levels.

GRRAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I WISH BUGS WERE REAL.
I forget how many levels there were but if it was 17 thats pretty cool

Developer

Nah, I only squeezed out 12 if you include the 4 tutorial levels. I wanted to have way more but I didn't finish programming the mechanics until late yesterday, so I didn't have a lot of time to design new levels and experiment with the mechanic.

Ah still cool game, I guess there are also 13 year ones I almost forgot about, 12 years underground  and can say the final year is that last img part so yippie still works!!!

I so appreciate your attention to cicada detail! We're new to this, and got tired and ran out of time. We definitely want to come back and add to this, and we'll make sure it has 13/17 levels in honor of the periodical cicada's life cycle.

Ps, I'm the artist!

Love this! Not particularly difficult, but the level design still felt mind bendy. Wonderful work to you and your wife <3

Developer

Thank you so much <3! I have ideas I want to experiment further, but I think first I will port it to a real game engine haha
