I like the idea, but it felt like there was a lot going on at first (though I think I eventually sort of got the hang of it).  Some issues:

• It wasn't clear at first (until I lost that game and read the description) that you had to go back to the optical sensors to re-target (I thought it was just a one-time thing to make the outside visible), and kept clicking trying to target stuff and the robot kept walking back and forth.  Also there was at least one time when it scrolled to make something else visible right as I was clicking and I clicked the wrong thing.

• Sometimes missiles just wouldn't launch even though the electron was shaking and the bar by the missile factory seemed to be full; not sure if there's some additional requirement that I'm missing or a bug.  (Also, maybe more feedback of why a thing isn't working would be helpful?  I also tried the EMP once and it didn't seem to do anything.)

• The game kept freezing for a few seconds for me; not sure if that's an issue with the game or with my 10+-year-old computer with multiple other browser windows open.

• Minor thing, but I wish I could use the arrow keys to go through the black lines on the circuit board (to the different sections).

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! These issues are the result of an ambitious goal coupled with limited time for testing. (We got the final builds up with about four minutes to spare!) Thanks for dedicating some of your time to it, and I hope you enjoyed what was there. We'll keep these bugs and insights in mind if we develop the game further after the jam!

Nice job. Super creative. Would love to see a full version someday! I would have liked a tutorial, but once figured out, moving the electrons is extremely satisfying and fun to switch back and forth between views to see my progress.  Circuit breaker art is so awesome. Keep up the good work.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

Ambitious but executed very well. I'd support the idea of expanding this into a larger game. Moving the electrons could be simplified, but other than that this is a great prototype and was very fun to play.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Ambitious is a good way to describe it, and I'm glad you enjoyed your time with it!

Definitely a creative take on the theme! I love jumping back and forth between the different scales. And the first moment where it zoomed out and I saw I was controlling a robot was really powerful!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! We consciously tried to make the reveal of the overworld an exciting moment, so I'm glad it came across that way. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Great work!

I loved this game and thought that it was a unique combination of automation and action. I would definitely pay for a game along these lines!

Developer

Wow, thanks so much! I'm glad that you seem to have gotten the hang of automation, because it's a really central mechanic. We'll definitely consider expanding it after the jam, as it seems like it has a lot of potential. I'm glad you enjoyed it! It bears a striking resemblance to your profile picture, too...

Submitted

Haha, you caught me. I am a computer guy through and through which might explain why I enjoyed the game so much

Nice concept, besides what other people said, it seems like tesla deals no damage and guns fire on their own even when not powered. Also in web version game over time got very choppy and crashed right before end of Salvation level. Otherwise, pretty good job and unique fit to the theme.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Sorry about the random bugs, we were a little pressed for time at the end of the jam. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Really cool game, but something I struggle to get into. Maybe a longer tutorial could help, or teach how to make the robot walk before thrusting the robot into combat.

  • The music is awesome!

  • I like how the power of an electron is by how shaky it is, and how it affects it’s move speed.

  • I like the base gameplay of moving an electron around

  • I have an issue with understanding how to make the robot move, even when I click an area on the ground, power both legs and power the optical sensor.

  • While I absolutely love how there are multiple things going on to guide a robot, It felt fairly overwhelming when it started showing the camera of the robot. But it’s still such an awesome idea.

Developer

First of all thanks for trying our game! Yeah it’s definitely hard to get into. I think it would probably have benefited from having a dedicated tutorial mission where it walked you exactly through properly gameplay. We sort of ran out of time to do anything like that…

Submitted

Had an immediate crash on javascript and couldn't figure out how to make the game work...

Developer

Could you just not understand how to play or were you unable to run the game altogether?

Submitted

A bit of both. The crash stopped me from being able to continue figuring out how to play, and before that I was confused on how to start it while zipping around on the circuitboard.

Submitted

Really cool game ! I sadly encountered a bug (I think it's one) where it doesn't detect when I reach target and the bot sort of cycles around it, so I can't select a new target and advance ! Tell me if it's not a bug and I'm just stupid, otherwise, I would be really happy to play it again when a fix is released, because I wasn't really able to see the whole game !

What I can say from what I've seen is that I really enjoyed the ambiance and "smoothness" in movement, I'm definitely going to give this game a good rate !

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yeah bouncing around by the target is a bit a of a bug, but you’re supposed to bring an electron back to the optical sensor whenever you want to set a new target, so the bouncing shouldn’t really matter. If that wasn’t working, then it’s a bug. Looks like we both at the subatomic particle interpretation though so that’s cool!

Submitted

Oh my bad ! I must have miss the info in the tutorial ! Then I'll go play again !

Fantastic game! I love the concept of controlling the outer-world with the manipulation of the robot's circuit board. It was a great puzzle trying to figure out how to best utilize everything on the circuit board and satisfying to see it all work together to reach each objective. I hope you develop more levels because I would definitely play them!

Developer

Thanks for playing our game! Maybe if we can untangle the spaghetti from the last few hours of development we can deliver for you!

Submitted

Surprisingly complex game. Great idea and execution very polished and fun to play. Great work

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! I'm starting to see a theme in these comments relating to the game's complexity. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted

That's a very complex game for a gamejam, great job! The artstyle is consisted and pretty, too.

Developer

Thanks! It took a lot of time and planning, so I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Submitted

Love the art and music they go hand in hand. Took me a while to figure out what I was supposed to be doing but once I did it was fun, I really like the replay feature was cool to have constant power to the legs by having the electron repeat and recharge itself

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad my minimalist lacking tutorial worked for you, and thanks for sticking around long enough to learn! Electron automations are the core of the game, so it's nice to hear that they work well.

Submitted

Nice game! I really enjoyed it

Developer

Thanks!

Submitted

woah the artstyle is crazy! just when i thought oh thats a cool game, it switched out of the motherboard to the other part of the game, great work! finish the game, quite complex game for a game jam

very cool!

Developer

I'm glad you liked the big reveal! We're realizing that it was a bit complex for a jam, so we might try to expand on the idea sometime down the road.

I love the look and feel of this game, and I love how unbelievably smooth travelling the overworld is.

That said, I am definitely not smart enough for this game. I appreciate that you gave a heads up on the difficulty, and I hope other folks can do the game justice when playing it!

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback! I hope you enjoyed it, even though it’s a bit too complex.

The best game I have seen so far on this Game Jam! This game is complex yet understandable with time, and it has some really cool art and music! 5/5 all around!

Developer

Thank you!

Submitted

Wow, this is an incredibly impressive game with completely unique concept! Controlling a mech by moving around its circuit board is such a cool idea. The movement around the circuit board feels great and is really smooth! I got a bit stuck figuring out what to do in the overworld, though, I kind of got stuck on a car and couldn't move around it. So maybe a little more tutorialing in the overworld would be helpful. But overall, truly impressive work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! I definitely understand that it can be unclear as it relates to what to do, and that would definitely be on the list for how to improve the game in the future. But as it stands, we only had about four minutes to spare in uploading the final version of the game, so I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted

honestly very creative but I dont know if I played it properly

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Sometimes the best games let you define what the "proper" way to play it is... Food for thought.

super cool idea!

nice job

Thanks!
