Fun concept. I like the art, and the cutscene is neat, although it's a bit too challenging for my taste.

Great concept! I think my only real complaint is that there could be more sound design, and the scaling seems to affect the speed/jump height maybe a little too much, but otherwise very fun!

Very challenging levels and very creative game mechanics. Basically I know how to solve level 3 but fail to do so becuase of my poor skill.

Submitted

You reminded me of some old toys I have not messed around with, including a "Growing Jesus" XD!

Neat game, 3rd level is indeed difficult but the game and the mechanic is neat, so awesome work amigo! :))

I personally think the art is fantastic, especially the tile-set. My main feedback on the difficulty would be that a lot of the issues I ran into were assumptions that I made  about the puzzle like I thought the cat could only absorb water when you were on it and that the key was necessary to complete the puzzle. The music and the opening cutscene were great overall great job :D

haha you were right. Level 3 is a killer. Even with the solution I found it too hard to beat. I think there needs to be more opportunities to grow, or something along those lines. It feels a little too hard when you get into a position where you know there is nothing else you can do because you shrunk too much. Best I can think of off the top of my head would be more water sources or more check points.

That being said, I liked it. Music was good, graphics were nice, and movement felt pretty good. Since this is a short jam, I don't expect everything to be perfect. Good job.

I really like the idea of tying the player's scale to their health, but gameplay asks for more precision than is reasonable. I tried the third level for a while, but was unable to get to the save point even after reading the solution. I think there is potential for the idea though, and I would have liked to play more of the game.

Really interesting approach to the theme.

Loved the art style, some levels was a bit too harsh

I'd love to see a full game out of it

Submitted

I loved it! The puzzles are very tricky, the art is on point, and the name is super clever :D

Fun concept, and the first 2 levels were fun, but like everyone else said, that difficulty spike is crazy. Would've loved to see the rest of the game, but I legit tried for half an hour and I can't beat level 3.

Impressive and cool game. Waiting for the fish to shrink reminded me of some of those Outer Wilds sand puzzles... good memories. I hope you make the difficulty curve a bit more gradual, but all in all, well done! :)

Really original idea. I love the story and art! Reminds me of Spongebob when he's out of water. I would recommend adding some "Coyote Time" (retaining the ability to jump for a few milliseconds after leaving a platform) since the constant speed changes make it hard to judge when to press jump.

Neat game, though I got stuck on level 3 😅

What I was able to play felt good and I liked the visuals, but I think it could use some coyote time or an increased window for it if it's already there, and scaling up and down felt a little slow, I think it would be nice if there was a way for the player to speed it up like a button to draw in water or expel it faster

Submitted

This was really tough! Cutting down the time it takes to restart and having a button to scale down faster would really cut down the tedium. Other than that, keep it up.

A bit of a difficulty curve but that's good. Art style and the story narrative is well thought.

Jump with W is weird but you get used to it, The check points are a pain tho as you aren't sure which Pont of water is a check point and which isn't, More of them should be added imo, And SFX will most likely make the game better to feel IMO. A well thought game OverAll

You can tell which ones are checkpoints because there will be water leaking from above and a green diamond symbol, but I’ll definitely try to make them more distinct in future updates. Thank you for your feedback.

Love the art style, though it was a bit challenging to play

With the amount of waiting and the unforgiving nature of the game, it desperately requires checkpoints.  Ended up giving up on lvl 3 mainly due to having to replay the entire game to get another try.  Appreciate the inclusion of an intro cutscene!

Developer (1 edit)

It does have checkpoints; where there’s a leak and a green diamond symbol that means that water source is a save point (and a practically infinite source of water) and you can press S or the down arrow key to save there. There is one on the left side of the second room.

Creative and fun game, but a little bit to hard. I could not get past the cat section. I think with a bit of balancing this could be a great game. Nice work anyways!

Submitted

haha this was super fun, but also the platforming was so frustrating :D I love the idea of this a lot - I hope you keep working on it because I see so much potential for how you could build out bigger puzzles. I did not beat the third level sadly :)

Very cool, got stuck at the 3rd level
