Really hard third level T_T other than that pretty solid game, nice controls, nice visuals, nice audio.
This is super good for a solo game! This mechanic definitely has potential to be made into a full game and I love that you gave a creative story behind why the character grows/shrinks - it adds so much personality. Other than the difficulty of some levels, I really enjoyed this, good job :)
It's a tad too tedious, like the jumps and stuff. Nice idea though! And you can also get soft locked in the big pool that you push the box out from.
That part was intended, to teach the player that they shouldn’t just absorb all the water they can. And you aren’t soft-locked if you keep jumping.
At that point it's kinda fun-locked imo
Really cool game! I like how the puzzles and player's abilities are time sensitive and requires planning.
The game could use some more animation though.
Good job!
Cool game! Love the concept and love the cat and fish art :)
I thought the puzzles were fun, but it felt a bit too hard from the start. It felt like the window of time when I was the right size to make it to the next obstacle was way too small and unforgiving. I wish there was a way for me to shrink myself faster so I didnt have to wait (just hold down a button). And finally I felt like it really needed more checkpoints. I couldn't make it past room 3 with the cat, and I eventually got too frustrated cause I had to keep doing room 2 over and over again.
The puzzles are great, but like others' have said, a lot of waiting is necessary. I've made a similar mistake in my entry to the previous jam. But other than that, I can see a lot of creative puzzles from here!
The main idea is great, you've made some interesting puzzles, and I can imagine many more with this mechanic. But the game really is incredibly finicky. I think making jump height scale less aggressively with size would help a great deal with this; as it is, you often have only one shot at a particular jump.
More checkpoints would also be appreciated (do I really have to do room 2 every time I want to take a shot at room 3?)
Fun game and the shrinking mechanic is cool. I enjoyed the story telling too.
This is a good game with an interisting idea, lowering the music and adding a couple more sound effects with some cool animations would be appreciated very much.
You still did a great job, well done !
It is really well done.
A couple of animations wouldn’t hurt, also adding the ability to shrink faster on command would make it less necessary to wait at the end of the level.
But it is a great game!
Super cool idea and puzzles! I wasnt the strongest at solving things quickly and I liked the checkpoint system, but sometimes it took me back a level which was a little tough
love the concept, had some fun puzzles! would've liked to be able to save more often, especially since some puzzles involved standing and waiting, but overall i liked it a lot!
I like how he can shrink really really small and he becomes like 3 pixels! Some of the jumps have too tight of a ceiling so its hard to make. Art is good and fish is great!!
Idea is cool. But to be honest I gave up on the cat part, I just don't understand what to do.
I’ve added solutions to the description now.
Really enjoyed this! The central mechanic makes for some interestingly-timed-runs, and most of all, the main soundtrack was an absolute BOP that I could listen to forever. My only feedback is I felt some of the timings had either too much waiting time between the next available action (i.e. waiting to shrink before jumping through a gap) or too narrow of a gap (i.e. I wait too long and now I'm too small to make a jump). Slightly tuned/more generous timings would help, and/or the ability to speed up my shrinking could be fun. Overall nicely done!
I did plan to have some way of speeding up the shrinking but didn’t get to it (it would probably involve speeding up everything else so that it is fair). But I’ll try adding that in an updated version. Thank you for your feedback!
