Hello everyone!

I decided to make a fun project in the Text adventure genre. (took around a few days)

It's meant to be a small, badly designed/maintained, glitchy project created by a group in highschool, in the 1980s. You're playing the game forty years later on an old monitor.

Here's the game: https://arnavk12.itch.io/smalljourney

Here are a few screenshots:

Unfortunately, I don't make games full-time and have not released many games, but I hope you might find this project interesting or fun!

Sorry for the late reply! I didn’t check itch, so I didn’t know it was you who friend requested. Try requesting again, I’ll accept it now!

Sorry, I didn’t know it was you sending that friend request so I declined it - please request again!

Sorry for the late reply, and ignoring all your requests! I didn’t know it was you guys. Please request again, I’ll be sure to accept it this time.

Hello,

I am a game developer who uses Unity. I've never submitted with others before.

If you are a composer or artist (I'm really bad at both), it would help both of us a ton!

My Discord username is arnavk12 (Discord removed the four-digit tag at the end)

Thanks, and good luck to everyone for the Brackeys Game Jam 2023.2!

Oh, by the way, how did you get the music to work?

I don't think that's possible with Unity. It seems you can do such a thing with window.close() in HTML/JavaScript, but I'm not sure it works with embedded content. If you want to, you can refresh the page manually every time you die.

Hello Unity developers,

We have a game: https://arnavk12.itch.io/cute-parachute

And we want to take it to new heights.

If anyone is willing (Project seems to work fine in 2020.3+, not checked for 2020.2 or below), do help!

Thank you!

Oh, the particles were Day 4. I repositioned some UI, changed the font, did some post-processing, and made the shop. I also added some improvements here and there!

I've also made another version haha

Hello, I'm participating in day 5. If you want, you can reply to this post with your game.

I can program and use Unity 2020.3, however I'm bad at pixel art.

Thanks!

Great video, your jam experience is relatable.

Now I know I will get in the top 100 for 2024.

That's a common balance problem lol, this is why we have a restart key.

That's a unique concept! Well done!

Fun game!

However, it's not clear that the items help you, also it's best to make the hole grow faster!

This is one of the most creative and enjoyable games in the jam. However, the UI is too much at the beginning. Maybe a tutorial will help? Also, I recommend you have it as an endless game: The limit will exponentially grow forever. But well done!

Thank you! I plan to work on the game for some more time, but currently I don't plan to turn it into a full game. But thanks for playing!

It's fun, but I personally don't like endless games. But I like the music, art, and execution of the idea. Well done!

I had more fun playing the games than reviewing them... 9/10! Check out my game as well... and include mine in your game. I have subtracted the star because I am not completely sure about the theme, but well done!

I don't really get the approximate price of these items. More feedback and UI would do. But the concept is there.

Good game, but I don't completely see the "Roles Reversed" concept too clearly. However, it was a great game, I had fun! Check out mine as well!

That was quite fun! Check out my submission as well!

Great game! However, the 3rd level was quike difficult, while 1 and 2 were still easy. But great game for 24 hours!

This is a great entry! My second game was a physics game made in 3 days. Check out my game!

I had a lot of fun with this game, but the difficulty is a bit easy. Maybe adding more puzzle-related elements would help, but I had fun! Check out my submission!

I like the concept, but there are too many things and the game gets repetitive that the player is bored. If you can simplify the game, that would be better. But great concept, check out mine!

Yeah, I actually assigned the velocity to the horizontal input, so lower FPS is bad.

There are as many team members here as fellows! (Not trying to imply anything)

Thanks for playing and reviewing. You are right about the softlocking, but allowing players to return from the exit has its own problems. However, you can still press R to restart the level. Anyways, thanks for playing again and have a good day!

that was a joke lol. Thanks anyways

The concept is nice, and I enjoyed it. Good modification to Chrome Dino!

Good concept, but the difficulty is kinda hard.

Great game, although the framerate is low.

How bad is it on a scale of 9 to 10?

The concept, execution, and art is great! My game is actually similar to it, but with a different genre.

Nice idea, but the game seems to lag. Maybe it's my computer idk, but 8/10!

You just submitted an year late for the previous jam lol

Great idea! However, the IRL player controlling the camera is not completely "Roles Reversed". But great visuals and music! Check out mine too

Nice art style and concept, but I didn't understand the goal.
