Thank you!! Really glad you enjoyed it and see potential! I think I'm gonna play around with adding some of the things you mentioned

And yeah I need to work on my SFK skills haha. It is still an after thought when I am building a game

Really enjoyed your game as well. Super cute and great take on the theme!

Thank you!! Agree with all your suggestions.

It's definitely too hard to tell if a boat can see the rock and is steering around it. I wonder if just having an "!" pop up over a boat when it sees a rock would have been enough? That's something I could have implemented in time, I just didn't think of :/

Thanks!! Yeah it's hard to imagine it as a full game unfortunately. You could add roguelike upgrades, different boats, different monsters, different maps, etc...

For sure needed a tutorial and I think some kind of indicator on the ships as well. Like maybe just an "!" pops up over the ship when it sees a rock in front of it?

Thank you!! These are all really good suggestions!

Going to make sure I budget time for a tutorial next jam. A scoreboard would have been really cool for a game like this too. Would have liked to see what scores ppl were getting

(1 edit)

Thanks!! Yeah the game needed a tutorial but ran out of time

And agree with your other feedback. Only having sprites for down, diagonal, and side makes it a bit tough to see what the ships are doing. Probably would have been better to go full top-down and rotate a single sprite

And also thought of giving an indicator like an "!" when they see the rocks

Thank you!! It does start to feel like an Air Traffic Control sim lol

Thanks!! Yeah the game needed a tutorial for sure

Really cool take on the theme! I love the idea that you are cycling through the same rooms over and over again. I think there is even more opportunity to have the rooms evolve over the run or let the player leave things behind in rooms, break walls, etc...

The music is incredible! And the overall execution of the game is really well done. My only complaint is that I felt like it needed to be shorter/easier for a game jam. I think I only made it 4 cycles on my best attempt

Cool concept! And the presentation is really well done!

The gameplay is pretty enjoyable, but it was a bit frustrating at times, especially the white hazards that show up near notes. Overall really nice job!

Nice work! Really enjoyed the puzzles, just did not enjoy all the waiting and how long it took to progress.

The concept is really interesting, and I like how you incorporated the different mechanics like crates and launching.

Wow! Thanks for the awesome review and thanks for playing it on stream the other day! You figured things out so fast compared to other people I have watched

Really enjoyed your game as well! Nice work!

Thank you! And for sure haha

I think it might have potential for a full game, but it will be really difficult to balance and get the mechanics right

LOL that's amazing!

I did not play test nearly enough during the jam, and so I didn't realize just how easy it is to break the game. I made the final few rounds scale up really quick thinking that no one would beat it. But I played a bunch more after the jam deadline and realize that I can pretty consistently get an integer overflow to happen lol

The negative skunk strategy is something I had not thought of though! Very cool and really appreciate you taking the time to figure that out

I'll be sure to checkout your game today as well! Glad I join the Post Jam Productions discord :)

Thank you!! Glad you checked it out

Really enjoyed your game as well! Cool to see a completely different take on a ferris wheel game

Cool concept! The art and the narrative are also really well done!

I did enjoy the puzzles, but it was a bit frustrating getting the aim down. Maybe just give the player an indicator of the trajectory when you are aiming. It also felt a bit too easy at times, like I could just spam planets and still pass with 1 star. I think I would have preferred if all the levels were accessible from the start but also a bit more challenging.

Overall really nice job! And thanks for checking out my game on stream yesterday

Nice work! Really well polished and satisfying roguelike game play

Cool game! I really like the idea. It is interesting having to plan ahead and predict which asteroids are going to hit your ship

Really cute game and creative idea! Love the art and the visual effects

Thank you so much!! Was really cool getting to watch you play on stream!

Just checked out your game and it is incredible! Super polished and the hamster voice acting won me over for sure

Amazing game!! Super polished and really enjoyable gameplay. It felt really good doing figure-eights around enemies to destroy them

The voice acting was also incredible! My only complaint was that it felt a bit too repetitive and like the game should have ended sooner. Maybe just a final boss on level 4. I gave up after beating level 3

And thanks for playing Wacky Wharf!!

Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it and did not see any of the bugs lol

I'm thinking of playing around with the mechanics after the jam... And I really like your idea! An effect that multiplies your total points when the animal unloads would be really interesting. Might be tough to balance, but I think that adds a lot of extra strategy

Really enjoyed Last Ouroboros as well! Nice work!

Really creative idea! Felt rewarding to plan out a few turns ahead. Also the level design felt nicely balanced and I liked the roguelike mechanics

Overall nice job! And thank for checking out Wacky Wharf!

Yeah the gameplay is lacking in some areas for sure. I spent more time focusing on polish this jam

The original idea was more of a roguelike deckbuilder like Balatro. Instead of a random queue of animals, you'd have a "deck" that is your queue. You'd be rewarded for doing better like you said and have a shop where you can upgrade your deck

Appreciate your review and glad you enjoyed it!

Awesome game! Have been meaning to checkout He Is Coming and this gave me a little taste haha

I felt like the balance was a bit off. I was able to easily defeat all of the enemies on the map after just a couple upgrades, but I could still not beat the boss even when I felt like I had a power build.

Overall really nice job! The art is cute and gameplay is well executed

Thank you!! Would not say my mechanics are better though haha

I do really like how your game auto-unloads everyone at the end of the round. I think that makes the game a lot more approachable. And someone else had the suggestion to make all the rotate buttons cost the same. I think I agree on that one too. I also really liked the tags you had on the center of the wheel that would trigger when carts go by.

Thanks for checking out my game! I'm curious if this idea has potential for a Balatro like game...

Love the story and the artwork! Took me a minute to figure out I had to throw things but once I did, it was really fun trying  to prevent the disaster with trial and error

nice job!! And cool to see another ferris wheel game in the jam

Really cute game! Enjoyed it but I did find the upgrades difficult to understand

I did not! My brain glossed over that in the instructions and I somehow never tried it haha

Gonna have to give it a couple more goes and see if I can unlock the cheats

Really nice game!! Love the concept and I think you executed it really well. Kept getting further and further but I couldn't make it to 13,000 to unlock the cheats :/

My only critique is that it felt a little too difficult to jump between carts. Maybe give the player a slightly higher jump or more left/right control.

Overall really nice work! And cool to see other ferris wheel games in the jam

Wow! I can't believe how similar our ideas were lol. Check out Wacky Wharf if you get the chance

Really enjoyed the game and seeing someone else's take on the idea. Was definitely too hard though and could not make it past round 3

(1 edit)

Love the atmosphere! Really cool that you are on one of the carts and can see all the different camera angles. Nice job!

I also made a ferris wheel game but with complete opposite vibes lol

Wow! Thanks for the kind review and thanks for posting your score! Did not expect anyone to make it that far. You were close to running out of rounds and breaking the game lol

Really enjoyed your game as well! Nice work!

Love the concept! Was really satisfying having to try a few different loops and then finally finding one that works. And I'm sure there are several ways to solve each level. Was able to complete all of the levels except for 6 lol

Really nice job! And thanks for checking out Wacky Wharf!

Oh yeah lol. Really enjoyed your game!

Thank you! I know the gameplay is a bit overwhelming but glad you picked up on it

I agree with your suggestion. In hindsight, I wish I had done a handful of hand-crafted levels instead of the endless rounds. Could have eased the player into the gameplay and made it feel more like a puzzle game

Thanks for checking it out! Will give your game a look today too

Thank you! And do not feel bad lol. The gameplay is tough and there isn't really an end unfortunately. If you made it to like day 5 or 6 then you did really well

Will make sure to checkout TapAway today!

Thank you! Really glad you enjoyed it

Will make sure to check out Swope. Minesweeper roguelike sounds interesting

Thank you! Glad you liked the idea!

Will make sure to give your game a review today as well. It also looks really cute!

Thanks!! I spent a lot of time playing around with shaders and lighting and other polish

Awesome to hear you enjoyed the gameplay as well and were able to indentify some strategies.

Will make sure to checkout ChronoBots today

Glad you enjoyed it and the strategy clicked for you!

And yeah the original idea was a deck-builder roguelike similar to Balatro. Had to trim a lot to fit it into the jam haha

Thanks for the review! Will make sure to check out ToadTrails today
