Haven't found the real suspect yet, but one this is for sure this game is incredibly fun, challenging and interesting too, great job guys :D

Thanks for playing it, so cool to see that you had fun playing it!

There were some bugs and typos, but the gameplay was plenty fun!  We all gathered around and played through it multiple times to solve the mystery! Very fun!

Developer

Thanks for playing it! So good to see that you had fun. We'll make sure to fix those bugs and typos for next versions xD

Really nice game! I liked how you presented text on the screen. Not many people care for that, so I was very happy about it. The story was really great and engaging. I had some problems with linking two things, because the game understood it, as me wanting to change a description. Overall all an really awesome entry. Great work!

Developer

Thanks for playing! We'll make sure to fix those bugs as soon as we can update a new version when the voting is over. Thanks for the feedback!

This was an amazing entry! The presentation knocked it out of the park, the gameplay made you feel like a detective, and the stress of only having a limited number of actions a day really added to the experience. I played it here:

Developer

Thank you very much for playing the game live, the team is always happy to see people trying to figure the mystery.

Fantastic game! I love murder mystery stories like this and this one was very intriguing, especially as it was done on a game jam. The music is perfect for the mood and the story was well-written. I kept looking for any typos but couldn't find any haha. I also couldn't find who killed George, I suspect it's that shady daenerys-looking woman. Great game, would love for it to be expanded upon and more refined.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing it and taking the time to write a comment! We'll definitely expand to a full game fixing the issues we saw in this one.

I enjoyed this game, though to get to the end I felt I had to just try all the combinations until I stumbled on the right one. Loved the red string links!

One thing I notice. (SPOILER!) If you ask Arthur about the link between drugs and documents it just says "write something here :)"

Thanks for playing it! We'll update the story to give more clues on what's the path to the true ending since some times it seem like luck to guess it, thanks for mentioning that.

And about the placeholder text, wow, there are almost 30 dialogs for each character (120  dialogs overall) and you found the only one that we forgot to change it, so congratulations! (i think). Thanks for letting us know =)

Slight spoiler below

I'm not sure why I'm not on the list because I killed George and buried him in a ditch near 38.89768, -77.03651 so not sure what the whole fuss is about.

I think this was probably the best detective game I've played in Jams (not just limited to this one). That being said, having time constraint is still meaningless in a game where you can just retry infinite times. I really enjoyed LARPing with the redlines and stuffs on the giant board, but the mechanic is kinda janky like the editing for the text appears in front of the buttons. The accuse statements could use some more work (I know about the true ending, but that seems to be the only special case), because it sometimes shows information that the detective doesn't know (like Arthur being a drug dealer despite that I throw him in jail as soon as I got his photo). And also, I very much enjoyed just replaying the game and throwing random people in jail, I don't think that's an intended experience but it was fun as hell. Thanks for the game!

Edit: Almost forgot, there's also a bug where I couldn't replicated again where if you click as fast as possible on linking and asking questions, you get stuck after a witness responded and can't proceed in the game

Developer

Thanks for your feedback, we'll take a look into this bug since it's news for us.  And nice catch about Arthur, we'll change that too! We'll see what we can do about those other issues you mentioned, but I think they will only be fully fixed in a new game made from scratch that we're planning to develop. Thank you very much for the comment, it was really useful for the entire team!

Really atmospheric and entertaining. The ominous music adds a lot too. I really was dying to figure it out!

Really cool addition to allow links and notes, adds to the roleplay.

Thanks for playing!!!

Nice game and really good story. The UI was sometimes frustrating and when I have to play over and over, because I didn't solve the case it feels even worst.

But when I get the story it feels really good. But then time runs out just before I acoused the person, so I must start over. But playing it for the 3rd time and doing the same things over and over was not fun.

I have question, do you have to ask the right person before you accuse him/her? Because I know the whole story but I wasn't able to play the game for the 3rd time from the start.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing the game and thinking about a feedback that will help us improve the experience for next versions.

I get that playing it again from the start is pretty frustrating since you already know points about the story, we'll need to tackle that issue if we decide to take this idea to a full release, this feedback is pretty good.

Yes, the answers you get from those people changes the endgame, and if you ask someone about two specific evidence/person you'll get a confession that makes it clear what happened when who you'll should accuse. This will give you the true ending.

Your feedback is really great and has opened my eyes to many possibilities, so thank you very much =)

Wow, that's really original, and at the same time, it feel so fitting with the theme ! Congratulations for that concept ! The story is really cool and the whole game is really polished for a 48h jam, good job =) !

I can really see this idea adapted in a more complete game that could be sold on steam. It reminds me games like Orwell, for exemple =).

I had some troubles with the cutscenes : either some of them froze or the music plays multiple times at the same time : I had to mute the game at some point. I'll come back for your post-game update to get the full experience =) !

Developer

Thanks for playing it and taking the time to write the review! Sorry about the bugs, we'll update the game as soon as the option is available to fix those issues so I hope you get the chance to play it again.
Also thanks for mentioning Orwell, I didn't know it so I'll take a look on that.

This is a really nice and tense murder mystery! I like the implementation of the theme and the way you're telling the story, really creative. Good job!

Nice game very polished and immersive! I just wish it was easier to circumvent the bugs during the cutscenes.

Thanks for playing it! We'll make sure to fix that when the voting is over and the updates were are allowed again!

Amazing game! I would love to see this idea expanded more with different stories!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing the game! If we do another one of this we'll use other stories too. We appreciate the feedback.

This is an incredible game and one that I would love to see made a full version! The whole idea is fantastic, and the story is really engrossing. Amazing that this was made in 48 hours.

Thanks for the compliments, it means a lot to us!

Art direction and concept are fantastic. However, game is unplayable. Trying to play on chrome but hangs on first interrogation.

Developer

Sorry about that :(
Could you send me a dm with the screenshot so I can try to understand what's happening?

Submitted(+2)

I got it working on Firefox. Idk maybe it was a problem with my chrome or something. You guys did a fantastic job btw, super original and atmospheric.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying again we are happy that you enjoyed!

i really want to try out the game, but for me it is not going further then 2 sentences in the beginning. what should i do? i tried clicking and pressing buttons including space, but nothing happens, only music is playing

Developer(+1)

Sorry about that, some people had this problem too in this version and we can't upload anything until the jam is over. What you could try to do to fix it is:
- run it in another browser (firefox, chrome)
- click on the screen when the text is appearing to jump the cutscene

If it doesn't work I'm sorry, we'll only be able to send another version after the voting is over =(

ok, thanks!

Love the concept and the artistic vibe! Congrats

I really enjoyed this game! I love the entries that took a different interpretation on the theme in general and this one is great! I agree with the others on the QOL improvements that could be made, but otherwise it feels like a full and finished game that could be released on steam. It was very immersive and made me feel like I was really solving a mystery. And it built the tension really nicely by having only a few days and only being able to ask two questions a day! I played through it several times just to ask every variation I could think of and get all the information! Great Job!

Developer(+1)

Really glad you liked, thanks for playing it.
It's good to see that little things we thought through were noticed.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing it,  it means a lot to us. So good to see that you actually played it multiple times!! We are getting more feedbacks to see if we'll develop something based on this mechanic, thanks for your words!
