Very good game and its feel and looks are on the top. Well done!!
When you pass the part with blue and purple gate with the wrong color for the next gate (gate where you need to be very long) I believe there is no way to get the correct color back from the previous part. It might not be the case maybe i didn't realised any other way and restarted the game.
Other than that it's a cool and good-looking game. It really put me in a flow zone for a long time with the music and mechanics :D
Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad you like it !
That's a very good point for the softlock, I had not thought about this specific case. I'll try to find a way to fix that in the next patch that should come before the end of the week.
I'll try to extend the game as much as I can in the future so any feedback is greatly appreciated !
Looks awesome! Lots of fun to play for such a minimal game.
Definitely, one of the best entries! I was just amazed by the visuals and the physics! I can't even imagine how you made all of these awesome game mechanics! You are really cool!
lots of game mechanics at play here!
Wow! it's a very unique one! Never thought a snake game could be made like this. I enjoy the gameplay and the level design, especially the moment that when the snake block its own way, you can control it to dive into water and then jump out.
Really cool game. Animations, physics, gameplay... really gj ^^
I do love snake games with unique concepts this one was really nice.
Visualy very pleasing I do like neon colors and sfx/music was also fitting for art style.
I wonder how was the snake made is it just a bunch of spheres and a good looking shader ?
exactly, just spheres with a custom shader made in shader graph ! I'm more a programmer than an artist so I put the simplest shapes I can, and then do procedural animation and put shiny effects on it !
One of my favorite games here! I have no idea how you realised any of these mechanics, you are programming genius:) Overall 5/5 without any doubt, very clever and beautifully looking game! Add more relaxing music and I would totally dissolve in game flow^^
Ooh such kind words, Thank you !
The visuals look amazing, everything just looks super polished. 2.5D is a great choice offering enough complexity while still keeping it fairly simple. The synthwave-ish music combined with the sound effects gives a very relaxing experience.
The puzzles were pretty easy at first but then I just got stuck at the blue and purple gate and took a very long time to solve it. I think I just got lucky that a blue orb spawned very near the gate so while the gate was still open I quickly grabbed it and went in. I think that might not be the correct way to solve it so I think some text for hints would be very nice.
Other than that I really have no complaints, it's a fun and very polished game, great work!
Thank you ! For that puzzle there are two mechanics at play that I failed to explain properly : when you eat a color orb, you release the one you had before from the other end, and if your tail is on the way, the door can't close. I think I should have explained that in the tutorial, because it looks like this puzzle is a roadblock for many players. Level design is definitely not my best best skill, but I'm learning ! I'll release a post jam update with some improvements as soon as possible !
I love the whole neon look in this game, the graphics looks super polished. Lots of cool and unique mechanics too, like diving under the water and jumping. The maze also has a lot of unique level design so the game never really felt boring. I also like the death animation, it looks really cool.
I think the difficulty ramps up too quickly with the blue and red gates. The game is actually really chill and easy until that part, then I spent several minutes struggling to get the snake through the door because it was so big. The game also wasn't very clear about what happens to the previous color when you pick up a new one, so it took me a while to figure out that puzzle. I also think the water should have some color, because it's a little hard to tell what's water and what isn't.
Overall, great game with some cool mechanics. I managed to beat the whole thing.
You are absolutely right, I shouldn't have put such a hard obstacle so early in the game, it seemed obvious for me because I spent hours experimenting with the mechanics before making the level, but I agree it isn't for players playing it for the first time. I think I will redesign the whole tutorial, to show the color change mechanic earlier, at a stage where your whole snake fits in the screen.
I kept adding more effects to the water all along the jam to make it stand out more, but yeah it's still too dark to be clearly visible, I'll keep working on that !
Thank you for the feedback, it will help me make the best game I can !
Really beautiful, I just wish the snake was faster and especially that dying took about 10% of the time it currently does. I was also able to get a super jump off the door next to the first purple bumper and ended up out of bounds, though I did play the game through legitimately after that. Mechanically I felt like the tolerance for actually hitting the bumpers felt too small which made the whole thing more frustrating than it needed to be. Minor complaints are not having a pause and esc just quitting the application, and no volume controls, but hey, this is definitely something to be proud of!
I was blown away by the quality of the graphics, the programmer must be some sort of shader god and the gameplay loop was satisfying and juicy, I did hit a roadblock with the puzzles and its non linear look, awesome job
Really great and well put together game, I had an absolute BLAST throughout all of it!
My only critique is the music got suuuuuuper repetitive really quickly, but all the other sfx were really nicely done!
Thank you ! Sorry for the music, it was a first draft that I was quite happy with, but that I never got the time to expand it... It's planned for the post jam update, as well as some level design update, so stay tuned !
Whoa the game is amazing :) I was stuck when purple button starts to appears, I couldn't manage to open the blue and purple doors at the same time!
Great entry!
Thank you ! The trick is that the door can't close itself while your tail is blocking it, so you can open the door, and hold it open while you go take the purple orb ;)
I think I should have made that clearer, maybe put a textual hint somewhere. Thank you for the feedback !

This game is amazing, it's super satisfying to play, especially being able to leap out of the water and the way the snake stayed the color of the orb it had just eaten. I did find the music got slightly repetitive and it was sometimes hard to tell what was there, but it was a ton of fun!
Okay this game is just insane. The theme, the art, the level desing, the concept, the music... Everything is Top Tier!
I'm really really impressed, even more so with just a week of development. Amazing Job!!!
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it !
Awesome game! Was really impressed by the art and all the mechanics put into the game! While playing, I found myself wondering how certain parts of the game were coded and handled. I do think that some parts of the game were a bit frustrating though, and the jumping mechanic especially took me a bit to get a hang of. Is the jump height determined by how long underwater the snake is? Is it determined by the length of the snake or how fast the snake is moving? I never really figured it out.
Anyhow, really great game though, congrats!
That was nice ! Very very good looking and enjoyable to play. The snake eating himself mechanic was a bit confusing to me, as it seemed there's a delay before dying, but it looked like the death animation, so I was thinking there was nothing I could do until some point where I managed to survive, but it was still strange because the classic snake game dies instantly, and your game is so tied to it, that I was not thinking it was different.
Level design was also a bit strange imho, I was not really sure where to go and why, simply opening doors I could find and collecting orbs, but for no apparent reason. There is no score displayed on screen, so why should I collect orbs as it just makes the game harder and does not give my anything in exchange ? :p And last minor thing, I really don't like the almost forced death at the beginning. I do not think it is necessary, even to learn how checkpoints work, and it was just frustrating dying because of the level design and not because I did something wrong.
Congrats for the game ! Did not mention it, but the technical art is really strong with this one ;)
Thanks for your very valuable feedback !
I agree with most of your points, level design is not my strong suit, especially in a jam where time is limited, but I'll keep working on it ! What happened is that I made something quite linear, but noticed it was possible to get softlock, so I added things to prevent that, which worked but allowed the player to do things in a different order, and might make the player feel a bit lost. I learned a lot during this jam, I'm sure I'll do better next time !
Unline the original Snake game, you don't die when you touch your tail, but when you get stuck and stop moving for a while. That is why the death animation felt long, you still can escape if you manage to move. I will remove the forced death, it was here to explain the death mechanic, but I agree it was done poorly. I'm still trying to find a better way to explain that without using too much text.
Interesting concept and nice effects, good job! :)
