Cool graphics, fun gameplay. could use some more juice.
Really cool art, good choice of music, I like the overall atmosphere of the game!
Bullet patterns are really cool, and feel satisfying to dodge when the screen is full of them haha!
IMO the game would be better with:
- A health bar (or any other way to indicate the player's health)
- A score counter !!! To compare your skills with other players!
- A bit more feedback when you hit enemies. The small "bleeding" effect is not very visible once the screen is full of enemies and bullets!
Nice entry, good work! :)
pretty cool! the bullet patterns are fun to dodge.
Nice artwork and fun to play!! Like the bullet patterns too!! Good job on this! :D
I love the artstyle, it was super charming!
The character sprite and animation is super well done! I love the concept of Sofia spinning as she shoots bullets around her.
Adding a feedback when you hit an enemy could improve the feeling of impact (a few tricks like scaling/downscaling the sprite quickly, flashing white on impact or changing color quickly, screen shake, etc). That would help! The same apply to when the player gets hit.
Like others said, a health bar would help too!
Also, for bullet-hells, you want the hitbox of the player to be very clear since the screen fills with bullets. I wasn't sure which part of my character was the hitbox (the torso I think? because the head wasn't getting hit). Many incorporate the hitbox visually in the sprite for their characters to let the player know where it is! Just to keep in mind for this kind of game :) Food for thoughts!
Good submission overall, great job!
Super agree with you on the visual feedback, that's definitely something I'll need to figure out how to do going forwards!
The hitbox actually was there, you just had to press shift to reveal it (like in Touhou) though I probably could've added something in-game to say that since it was only on the page before.
So glad you enjoyed it!
Oh my bad, I missed the information on the page!
Pretty cool! Good job again
The visual is very pleasant and the bullet hell gameplay is quite interesting! It was fun to play)
Beautifull arts !
It was a cool game! I like that it's unique! Being able to see player health or have a tutorial is nice, but it was still fun!
The art is absolutely incredible! Very very fun game I enjoyed it a lot. A little more juice would've been nice for this jam, but all in all a great experience!
Incredible art, Really loved the look of everything. I think the game was great, incredible job!
i like the art and the unique approach for the theme for the game. Definitely agree it could be juicier but it was smooth and not a bad experience at all. Really liked the shift power too!
Nice game and interesting theme! feels like a bullethell game sometime xp
It would be nice to have some camera shakes when player got hit, it's really easy to accomplish with cinemachine in unity
Also I lost track of where my cursor is after a while and always accidentally click outside of the game window xD, it would be nice too to have a larger cursor sprite xD
I didn't know what cinemachine was before, but I'll be sure to include it in my future projects! Thanks so much for the suggestion!
And yeah custom cursors aren't too difficult to make and I see how they could be nice ahaha. I'll keep that in mind for next time!
We all learning! xD
Hey, cool game! Great audio and nice visuals. Great job!
I appreciate starting with a homing bullet shot as player ^^
I got the "you won" screen even though I didn't defeat all enemies of the last stage. Another small suggestion would be working on the juicyness a bit more.
Other than that, pretty nice and I like the soundtrack, too.
I made the final wave super difficult (I think?) but compensated by making the game give you the win screen once the song finished playing, so that's why you got the "you won" screen there. And I'm totally there with you on the juicyness, that was definitely one of the things I had to rush due to time!
This game is a solid bullethell game with great soundtrack. This is good! :)
I like the idea of having two types of projectiles, one that requires aim, and the one that tracks enemies, it allows to keep doing damage when you are focused on dodging, but still rewards aiming.
I wish there was a bit more juice, mainly for when enemies take damage, it would make the game feel way more satisfying. It feels quite balanced, the difficulty is right (for my skill level at least), but it is not rewarding enough to shoot enemies.
Yup, that's exactly what I had in mind with the shooting!
Yeah, I didn't have too much time to make the juice exactly what I wanted, but I'm happy with what I got, even if it ould be a lot more over the top =)
Glad the difficulty felt good!
good: visuals are unique, sounds is great , ennemies are great, the bullet hell is great and optimized.
to research: add other mechanic different from shooting. i mean
Shooting is in there! Just use Left Mouse Button =)
Interesting. I made few games and probably there are too much bullets ahah Art and sounds, especially when you shoot, are cool :)
It's interesting, but i think there is too much balls. It's a little too dificult. Audio and visual are very good!
Yeah, I based it off of Touhou which I can beat in Lunatic depending on the game, so I'm not surprised if the balancing was a bit much ^^
Glad you liked the audio and visuals!
Fun game! I really like the art style it's very unique!!
