Extremely impressive!  The art was great, the tutorial was spot on, and the mechanics were well done.  Phenomenal entry!

Loved the artstyle! In the end, if I were the knight, I would steal the gold to myself, hahahah

Great Game! Impressive wall jumping and dash mechanics. Simple and cute pixel art. Short goofy narrative with cutscenes. It was a bit unforgiving at times, but still fair enough to be overcome. Would've liked to see how many coins were collected, but overall very good for a solo project. Keep up the good work!

I think it was an inspired design decision to make dash and attack just the same keypress and action to keep the complexity down and not have to deal with the issue of a tiny character having a tiny melee range and it being difficult to position correctly in a sidescroller like this and give the player dashing as a mobility option. That's always my big hint it might be a good design idea, when it solves a slew of problems all at once.

First off, I see a cutscene in a game jam and I'm in. I liked the dash mechanic and the wall jump mechanic. I noticed that if I were to fall of a ledge I only had one jump which was good but in my game I gave the player access to all jumps so they could make it through difficult terrain so I had trouble deprogramming myself.

The wall jump worked very well mechanically and the level complimented it by provided areas that could only be completed with the level mechanic. Also the fact that you worked in the theme to the story was an awesome touch.

Also I noticed there wasn't a really a point to collecting the coins as they didn't really do anything.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah at the moment there isn't much point to collecting the coins. I was going to use them as a score mechanic but unfortunately ran out of time by the end.

I had a lot of fun dashing in the air to make super long jumps. Cute and funny storey, too!

Love the story and controls felt intuitive - and I'm a sucker for a dash mechanic! I would like more control in the air but you did a great job :)

Developer

Thanks!

Love the game ! It's a very nice platformer game with a cool design and a fun wall jump mechanic that add a lot to the level design!

This is was a fun time! The unexpected use of the tiny theme was a great way to use it and the subsequent boss battle at the end was unexpected and, for me, a bit challenging.

For a gameplay critique, the wall jumping and sliding felt well implemented and good to use, but I didn't feel like I had a lot of control while actually in the air. For instance, if you jump one way, your momentum carries you that way and it takes a second to reverse that momentum. Jumping in one direction and double jumping back the other direction doesn't immediately let you go back. I ended up falling into the water several times from this strange feeling momentum. I think I would have liked snappier air strafing and controls especially when it came to the water platforming bits.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. I did go back and forth on how much air control the player should have and I agree with you that the player should probably have more air control in a platformer. I'll tweak it once the jam is over. Thanks for playing!

Story was really good, I am real bad when it comes to playing platformer so couldn't enjoy it fully still the cutscene in the beginning was nice and funny!

I like platformers and I enjoyed this. I realised now what confused me the first time I played this, I forget I could double-jump! Doh!

Developer

Thanks for taking to time to play it

an interesting way of using the theme, I like that I left a castle and got shrunk down further into the "tiny world". Nice touch. I also think the wall jump and slide controls are very smooth. Good job

Very clean game, I like the theme adaptation alot. Would need some more variation, but thats hard to do in such a short time. Good work!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. More variation in tilesets and enemies was planned but had to be scrapped when I ran out of time.
