I really loved the way you shaped the idea of your game, it has a strong Guts from Berserk vibe the player character that I really enjoyed. I hope to see more of your project in the future, you’ve got a great foundation!

I can totally see what you were going for, and I really like the concept! It might’ve been a bit too ambitious for the time frame—especially with you working solo—but that’s totally understandable.
I’m a big fan of exploration games, so just running around, fighting stuff and looking for loot was already fun for me. It’s rough around the edges and clearly unfinished, but there’s something there that kept me interested.

Combat is simple, but it works. Although I did end up mashing left click and attacking faster than the animation haha

You’ve got a solid base here. With more time, you could really turn this into something cool. More complex combat and enemy behaviors (they kinda go together),  crafting, inventory management, more weapons, all that stuff. Just don’t burn yourself out—it’s a lot for one person, but definitely doable.

I’d love to see what you originally imagined when you started this. It's a super cool concept and I hope you keep working on it!

For a first game this is really nice! Player animations and most of the pixel art looks great, the movement and attacks also feel nice. I like the whole idea and theme adaptation!

Here is some feedback:

Try to keep a consistency with aesthetics, for example sticking to one color scheme/ theme  and using the same pixelsize for all art. I would also say that your UI needs work, centering text, finding a fitting font and using colours that make it visible are things that are pretty easy to do but that makes a huge difference. A game being aesthetically pleasing doesn't have to mean the art is complicated and time consuming, it often mostly about how clean it looks and how well the different aspects fit together.

When it comes to the gameplay, I would say that you should try to make the mechanics a bit clearer, I couldnt figure out how to craft or use any potions at all(maybe you just didnt have time to implement that).  Also, I think that the fighting could feel smoother if the enemies just had one more behaviour than running at you, like stopping while attacking.

Hope I dont sound to harsh, as I said this is great for a first game, I just wanted to give the most honest feedback I could so that you can find it helpful in the future.

Btw, saw that you struggled with inventory, great work if u managed to make all this by urself! Here is a tutorial for a simple inventory system that I watched a while ago, but have used in some way in pretty much all of my games since its so flexible:

Not harsh at all this is exactly what I needed, and thanks for the complements :D

I knew it didn't fit but wanted to do these big attack animations. A lot got messed up when I switched the build from windows to webgl including  a good font I found, buttons and the crafting system for some reason. It still works in  the game it's just not a good one. I have a list of recipes that has a unlocked bool val and populates with whatever is unlocked.

The inventory system was a nightmare the concept just didn't click on my head, I had to scratch it completely twice but I think I can do it now. Thanks for sharing the video, I actually got the leveling and event system from Tamara.

I really appreciate your comment and thank you for teaching me something.

I'd say it looks amazing for a first game, but the modifier isn't even necessary--I LOVE the art and feel of the game. That being said, I did run into an issue: I barely did any damage! This game has huge promise though and I'd love to see it go far. The idea's super cool and the gameplay is interesting.

Very good game. There are some flaws, but for a first game everything is done very well.

Thank you, I had fun playing it!

Good luck in this and the next game jams! :)

I really like the concept and the art style. The game is promising it just needs a bit more polish!

Thank you, your game was amazing.

good work. I liked the art style and animations. Some of the bad things seemed to push me more than hurt me. I also had some bugs with inventory where things would vanish and then i re open it and they come back. It looks like a nice start to a fun game though

Things got messed up when I switched the build to webgl. Thank you for the feedback.

An interesting concept for sure :D

A bit rough on the edges, but I can 100% see a very cool game using this idea, with more time, great job ! :D
