Those Gullivers are really bad guys! I managed to play five levels, and it was a very interesting experience. The strategizing is fun, the defenses are done nicely, but the chicken sounds will haunt me forever!
Yes they are loud ! Sorry about that :-)
Thanks for playing
I really like the idea, but I miss background noise and music and a little menu to turn the sound down a bit.
One problem I had was when the camera is moved and the buttons are released, it doesn't stop. (This didn't always happen) (WebGL version).
I find it's a very good game. Keep working on the game.
Thanks, yes it does need music and certainly some options (such as volume). I wanted to do a size options also as the world is loaded in chunks so it plays just as well at 500 x 500 tiles ! However I hit the problem of not hitting my to-do list and music should have been on it higher! Thanks for playing
Was fun to play!
The giants kept knocking out my wood production multiple times and I liked the resource management aspect!
Good job!
Thanks, just wish I'd made a tutorial or better tooltips to explain the production loop better!
God the Gullivers made me jump the first time they came along, I wasn't expecting it at all! I thought it was a cosy town building idle game, I was just relaxing, then those giant idiots showed up!
Yes, best to zoom in and rotate the map to begin with on each level and see which direction they are going to come from. You get about 30 seconds before they attack so enough time to throw a tower up if you have the resources!
Thanks for playing
f* them gullivers! very cool spin on the theme!
but I think you could lean into it even more, by zooming out further and making the gullivers much taller!
it would also be super helpful to see the progress on the producing tiles to plan which thing to build next.
Good points, it does need a few things to make it easier to understand where you are making progress. It was all planned but it got cut as deadlines loomed! Thanks for trying the game.
Cute game. But it does take a while to understand how it works.
Yes, it really needed a tutorial...just ran out of time !
I'm a noob to these types of games so I agree with the others about the learning curve & needing a wee guide. The aesthetic are really neat though and I like the story idea & how you've matched the Tiny World theme. Gulliver's Travels is also such a fun movie so I was definitely attracted to trying this out when i seen Gillivers haha. Good job!
Thanks, agreed it needs some kind of tutorial!
cool looking city builder/tower defense idea. not quite my cup of tea, but i see the potential. Great work!
Thanks, much appreciated.
A neat tower-defense/strategy game. Took me a few moments to learn, but once I did, I got quite caught up in it, nice job!
Thank you so much, glad you picked it up quickly as I know it could do with some kind of tutorial or hint system.
I like the art style and it seems like an interesting tower defence game, though It could use a tutorial explaining what to do.
Yes I tried to mix up a tower defence and simple mini-city builder. I put an overview on the front screen but yes you are right it could do with some kind of tutorial or hints on the first level.
Nice Game👍
Thanks for playing it
Good job, had a nice time playing it!
Great thanks for playing...would have loved to have done more to it, maybe I will after the jam!
Great visuals!! very good job!
Thanks, all visuals were done by my son in blender (except Gulliver). This was a family developed game :-)
The game is pretty cool , well structured too , had fun playing , good job!
Thanks for playing it, just wish I'd had another day to do a few more things... mind you I would have said that after that day as well !
That's cool! Gulliver’s story fits the theme really well. I reached level 5. GG! 🔥
Thanks for playing it. Only level 5 :-) I tended to get around levels 8-10 while testing it, gets a bit extreme at 10 however - probably need to tone that down!
fun game, dam giants i need more arrows!!
Actually the catapults and fireballs are the best, for reference arrows do 1 damage, catapults 4 and fireballs 8. I really wanted to put that in the game but left it too late. However basically once you get a mage tower or 2 you can make it to around level 7 before it gets really hard...
At level 5 I didn't get food anymore, the Titans gullivers were cool. But the resources need more balancing I think? Maybe add building health or soldiers?
Thanks for your feedback.
To get food build farms, you need those just to be able to then create houses for population in order to man towers, lumber yards, mines etc. Building health was on my "to-do list" but just didn't have enough time. I always had the idea of small soldiers that would be squashed under the feet of the giants. We even had a catapult for them to push around...never enough time :-)
I'm impressed with what you've done in 10 days here! I didn't have time to really figure out the best strategy for laying the various tiles but I think you've got something really solid that you could build on. Though, for the love of god please allow me to kill that chicken! (Or at least a volume slider lol)
Thanks for your comments, yes it was a bit of a rush to complete and is missing some stuff like music/volume controls and I wanted to add a small/medium/large island options as well...never enough time :-)
.. oh and yes those chickens are too noisy !
The game is fun and overall it's pretty good, but it feels a bit laggy when playing and the graphics are quite close. I tried zooming out but it was still too narrow so I couldn't see the whole map.
Thanks for playing our game. I've not had issues with the graphics on WebGL but guess depends on system to system. The Pc version is as you would expect far smoother and has the benefit of shadows etc.
Good point on the zoom out, I was keeping a mind on performance but maybe should have made that an option.
Thanks again.
Protect the tiny people against the horrible cloning exercise of the Gullivers !
Hope you enjoy the game, it does seem quite fun to play as gets hard from level 4/5 onwards, when giants are smarter, quicker and tougher.
All assets were created by one of our team members (via Blender). We used the free human character from blink on unity asset store as that was beyond us to create (for Gulliver). Sounds are AI generated and tweaked to make them better.
Please note, the WebGL version of the game requires full screen to work and we've disabled shadows in order for it to be performant. Also there is a known bug where sometimes when start the game you get a game over screen, if you get this just start a new game again. Seems to happen about 1 in 100 times so not been able to track it down!
