I loved the game, and the art looks very nice!
Thanks for playing!
The way you could switch between the characters was cool for me. I got into a bug/situation where one enemy trapped me on each side. They couldn't hurt me and I couldn't hurt me. But they kind of shielded me so that was nice.
Yeah the enemy behavior needs work, the colliders and hitboxes are a mess and you can easily get into these weird situations where someone is standing on somebody else's head and won't get off, or boxes a player in. Anyway, glad you liked the basic mechanic, and thanks for playing!
Good job finishing your game.
I liked the art design and the controls felt good. For some reason on my fist playthrough, everyone kept jumping on my head and stayed there. Haha.
Thanks for playing! And yeah, I nearly didn't finish, so I appreciate that. There are for sure some physics collider issues that need to be worked out, among other things. And I ended up putting a lot of focus on art and game feel, so I'm glad that came through for you.
Nice idea. I love some craftpix assets. Got invincible in this position and felt I could stay there killing folks forever. Nice artwork.
Thanks for playing, yeah there are some bugs and it's really more of a mechanic than a full game right now. But I'm glad you liked the choice of assets!
Kinda seems like you've been spamming a whole lotta games with this same exact comment. Last minute attempt to drive more traffic to your game?
hehehe ;)
actually genuinely annoying, not "hehe." definitely not playing your game
okay :(
Wow the music and the game feel was great.
Thank you! I loved your game, btw. Just left a long comment.
Liked the strategy behind switching between the characters and the different attacks that they do as well as the fun gameplay of killing the enemies and surviving. Overall nice job on the game!
Glad you had fun! Thanks for playing!
Nice work, enjoyed playing. Was a little easy after selecting the robot that could 1 shot kill everyone. No real need to swap. The guy took 2 shots to kill ppl? Who'd pick him? Im assuming the platforms, ladders, etc were for more variety, that would have made me switch to him if enemies used them. First time I played I didnt read the instructions, I ended up loosing the 2 robots and with the guy just standing on an enemies head and nobody could get me. Was funny to watch. A few minor bugs like a player attacked would stay whited out, the guy stuck in run animation, enemies floating while dead. Nothing that bad there.
Thanks for playing, and I appreciate the detailed feedback. I agree with all you've said, and there for sure some animation and physics bugs. I plan to keep working on it after voting ends and hopefully turn it into a game that actually justifies the mechanic.
This is so neat. I love the pixel art and the quality of sound fx. It feels nice and juicy to shoot and take down the enemies. I would like to see a bit of enemy variety, and I bet you can do some cool mechanics with the different playable characters. Great work!
Thanks for playing, and glad you enjoyed it! Yeah it's sort of just a mechanic at the moment, but I'd like to keep working on it after the jam so there will ultimately be more enemy types and a greater distinction between each of the playable character's strengths and weaknesses. Cheers!
Nice idea having the 3 playable characters at the same time.
I would have loved to see them shoot to.
We could have put a massive amount of enemies down and switching player had become a chore mechanic as loosing one mate could have been the end of the team!
Shooting feels good! I like this game!
Nice! Thanks for playing! I agree, the game needs to be adjusted so that it feels really necessary to have all three playable characters and make them work together. It's not there at the moment, but I'd like to keep working on it after the jam.
keep it going! It was a rich idea and a very good basis!
Appreciate that! Also I just played yours, which felt like a similar idea but in 3D and much more polished haha. Maybe I'll steal some of your ideas :p
Neat game,
I'll be honest that I forgot I could switch characters but didn't need to once I found out because the human could absolutely blast away any enemies that attacked. (Also I only found out I could hold down K at kill 70 lol)
It was fun to test out the other players with their different combat styles, and the art of the game is all cohesive.
Nice job :D
Yeah no, that's completely fair. At the moment there is no need to switch other than for fun, and any one character can pretty much mop up all the enemies that come at it. After the jam I'd like to keep developing and make the game suit the mechanic. Hope you didn't wear your finger out repeatedly hitting K! Thanks for playing.
Looking forward to the improvements to come! and pshaaaaw I'm sure insurance will cover it :P
Wow, 3 playable characters?? With different abilities? Super cool! I love the sprites too, very good picks! Nice work!!
Thank you, and thanks for playing! With a little more time I hope to make the characters more distinct and, y'know, create situations where you actually need to make them work together lol
I can visualize cool ways of doing that just from playing a bit. My fav is the speedy robot tho ;P
I think the speedy bot (or SliceBot, as I named it in the project) is the fan fav, for sure. It will be getting its own gnarly buzzsaw sound effect after the jam. Would love to hear your ideas, btw!
I mean the most obvious example would be enemies that fire from distance on the platforms, which I bet you already thought of from the ability of the human. Maybe enemies with projectile shields or something could be cool? Or maybe give the big bot some sort of shield effect? Idk, the possibilities are limitless haha. Feel free to disregard my ideas, idk if they're any good
Oh yeah, no those are great ideas. I had definitely planned to add a wider variety of enemies, including some that could shoot from a distance or follow you up a ladder, but time caught up with me. I like the idea of one of the bots being more of a shield/defensive unit, that's cool. Thanks!
Cool idea. It's really interesting mechanic controlling 3 characters in one scene. We really like the art style. Awesome job!
Thanks for checking it out! Yeah, at the moment it's just a mechanic in search of a game, but hope to turn it into something more after the jam. Thanks!
Really great job! The controls worked really well for me and I liked switching between the characters. I can see there's a lot of possibility to have the different characters be useful for different situations and strategies, very cool idea! It would be funny to have one of the robots shoot tacos, or maybe a robot that can give your other characters tacos as powerups XD
I'm glad the controls felt good for you, I wasn't sure how they would feel to other players. Love that idea about taco powerups lol. There should certainly be more taco-related content. Thanks for checking it out!
Cool game! The idea of controlling multiple characters is very neat. I like how they all handled differently, I like the effect of the one that dashes around. This would be a cool foundation to build upon. Good job!
Thanks for playing! Yeah I think in it's current state it's really just a foundation, as you say, but I'd like to keep building on it!
I'm glad you were able to release this game and learn much from it.
Thank you, me too. Thanks for checking it out!
The game was very fun to play with the different characters, would've been cool to have some enemy variation too. Overall, great job. You really sucked me into the game.
Indeed, it needs a wider variety of enemies. Thanks for the feedback, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Very interesting concept! I feel keys 1, 2, 3 to change between characters would be better as enter is a bit unexpected and sometimes you hit it too fast. A jam is a jam, but for a real game I would feel that you need some strategy component. There is no time / need to change between them now.
Graphics and animations are all great. Good job!
That is a great idea, number keys would be way better and provide more control when switching between characters. And I couldn't agree more--there is currently no real reason to use the different characters. But I would like there to be! Planning to do more work after the jam for sure. Thanks for playing!
Pulse-pounding action, with satisfying gunplay and a stylish soundtrack! Little touches like the knockback when you shoot just made it satisfying! Definite potential here! :)
Why, thank you kindly! And thanks for playing. Excited to check out your game!
I really liked how the different characters played differently, and I enjoyed playing as all three. It would be nice if there was some more enemy variety to keep things interesting, and if the other characters you’re not controlling helped out in some way so they aren’t just standing there getting bonked. Really good job for the game jam though!
Absolutely agree--one of my original ideas was to have the robot characters stay stuck in whatever state they were last in when you switched away from them, so you can set them to always shooting, or accidentally have them always moving. Also would like more enemy variety, and a clearer distinction in the abilities of the different player characters. All things i'd like to add after the jam!
Thanks for playing!
