Simple, but well done. I think it would've been worth the time to add a background of some sort, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

This is a very clever idea for a platform game! So simple and effective :) Very well done :)

Thank you so for taking the time to play!

I’m happy to hear that you enjoyed it!  Thanks for the kind words.

The scaling mechanic in this game makes it fun. I think it would be great if you provide a map because as I unlock more mechanic and as I can explore the area more freely it is also getting harder to know where my current position is.

And also, if you are using tilemap feature provides by Unity, you can make the tiles that suppose to be a cave or hidden area on a different layer. Like maybe the background tiles on layer 0 and the cave or wall to hide the player when it passes on layer 1 or 2. Something like that. Just to make it more "neat".

Sorry for this messy feedback, I hope you got what I mean :D

Developer

awesome, thanks for the great feedback. Yeah this is my first unity game so I was just figuring stuff out as I went  along.

Re: Tile maps, I guess that means I can turn colliders off for specific layers?  That would be great and definitely neater than what I have done.

Fun little game with nice controls and honestly the mechanics and ways you can manipulate the size change mechanic are really cool as well!

well done - I enjoyed playing!

Really cool concept, I loved the different mechanics you were able to implement with such a seemingly simple concept. Well done!

I really enjoyed this game. The stress level are just in the right spot that I feel eager to try again and again to beat particular obstacle. Great work!

Good looking game with interesting mechanics that are very good on theme for this jam.
I suck at platformers however and never could get the high jump consistently. I think the idea is to jump as the big block and then switch to the small block to gain more height, but it was a hit and miss for me, sometimes getting the height, sometimes not without understanding why.

The game also starts out with a good tutorial, unlocking the abilities when you need them and the player needs to show they understand the ability to progress, however when the real meat of the abilities is unlocked we are not taught how to use it. I got quite stuck after encountering the first skeleton and unlocking the growth ability. The high jump only happened on accident because I was mashing buttons trying to get something to happen.

Adding the high jump tutorial and some music would polish this game a lot.

Besides all the criticism ;P, the game looks great and plays smooth so job well done there !

thank you so much for taking the time to write this detailed feedback. I will revisit how the high jump is introduced to the player.  The idea is to press and hold jump and at any time on the way up, press toggle size. You can press toggle size  super early in the jump or closer to the peak, just as long as you continue to hold down jump. Thanks again!  It helps a lot.

Addictive little game, brilliant level design, clean graphics, the little miner skeletons had a sense of humour. Loved every bit of the game. I can't find much to fault here. The only problem is I want more. Good job!

Cool use of the theme, it was fun to change size mid-air to help make those tough jumps. Interesting use of the weight/size mechanic on some of the platforms.

I had a bit of trouble figuring out where exactly to go, but I had fun doing it. Nice work!

well executed and  solid mechanics that are on theme.  Great work!

Nice work! You were on point with the theme using that as a gameplay mechanic to solve the puzzles. The game was simple but fun to play and the gameplay felt quite smooth. Great job!

The game is simple, but the idea is well-executed, making it quite entertaining. Great job! ^^

yep, good game. cant rate it since I dont have a game of my own.
but was quite enjoyable :-)

Very well done, simple but does the job!

Pretty well done, specially theme wise, the mechanic fits really well.

Great game. I loved that it used the theme in two different ways, climbing platforms and changing the character's size. Congratulations. I believe that having several phases, increasing in size and difficulty, would increase the feeling of evolution for the player.

Everything is great except the level is too large. I never got past the first one since I got stuck in a vertical tunnel. Sometimes an extra hint would be nice :) For this type of puzzle platformers smaller levels work better, but that's just me.

Developer

thank you for taking the time to play and for providing feedback!  If you had a screenshot of where you got stuck I could provide better hints for the player in future updates.  But no worries if you can’t!  I will try to improve the overall experience as I continue to develop the game.

I really have to commend your level design and how you taught the players mechanics with the skeletons ("no one told me I can change size mid air" - fantastic). Great work!
