grate game, love the music, had fun playing it, keep up
Thank you for checking it out!
This was quite the vibe, really enjoyed the music and old-school feel! The writing was fun and the environment, although simple, was fun to run around in. Sometimes enemies get stuck on Dale's head and the physics can get a little weird as a result, but it didn't bother me too much. Fun little game with awesome music! Nice work!
Thank you so much for checking the game out and for the kind words!
I definitely fell in love with the atmosphere and character design of this game. Even the writing has something extra to it. I think it could be improved, especially from the point of view of fluidity of movements and animations, nevertheless I think this is a very good work. I hope you will continue to improve it :)
Thank you for the feedback and kind words!
A bit of a mix bag for me. There are a lot of small areas where you paid attention to detail that I liked. Having characters update their dialogue and having an overworld were really nice choices to me. However, controlling the character never felt great. I think it's because there isn't a lot of feedback to actions. For example the lack of sound effects made most actions feel really empty.
You seem like you have potential, but still need some more practice. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for checking the game out. Also, thank you for the great feedback, especially about the impact with attacks!
I enjoyed playing your game! Great work. It would be great to have a little more control over the jumps.
Thank you for checking it out and giving feedback!
Great little platformer you have here! Always liked omnidirectional combat in these types of games, and it felt pretty good here. Hitboxes felt just the right size to where enemies weren't overbearing, but also not too disjointed either.
Not sure if intentional, but I sometimes had enemies sort of get stuck above the player character - you could still get them off by swinging upward, but you'd rapidly start ticking health. Didn't really affect combat too much otherwise.
Great work, this was fun to play!
Thank you for taking the time to play and for the kind words!
I think at this point we have to consider the enemy head jumping a bug. I had at least one player unaware that they could knock enemies off and sometimes the enemy is unable to do any damage in this position. It has been a good learning experience for simple enemy AI and platformer combat.
Looking forward to trying your game!
I really enjoyed playing, and I liked the comedy here and there. I feel as if that you don't feel like you are climbing a mountain, though this doesn't effect the gameplay at all. Overall, I enjoyed it! Hope to see it as a fully fledged release :D
Oh, and if you could take the time to rate my game, it would mean the world to me, as I am only 11 and this is my 3rd game jam that I have entered.
Thank you very much for your great feedback! I will gladly check out your game.
i agree the music is hype. this is giving me flashbacks to making a directional combat game last year for the same jam in godot lol. fun to play ! gj
Thank you for checking the game out! It was fun making a directional combat game. Definitely had a few challenges, but I feel like we have learned a lot. Glad you enjoyed the music!
The music was straight fire. For some reason the character stopped animating and I became invincible for 2 of the main levels.
Thank you for checking the game out! Also thank you for letting us know about the bug. Glad you liked the music.

Hello! I've played your game on stream if you're interested to see a live playthrough of it :D https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1995012210?t=1h36m24s
All of my comments are in there, keep up the good work!
Wow! Thank you for taking the time to do this. I appreciate your feedback!
I will say, the story tends to make more sense if you actually take the time to read any of the text. Also, while I appreciate your stream it was kind of a shame to not hear the music from the game.
Also, good news: the controls and music volume can be accessed in game by pressing the G or M buttons to bring up the menu.
The other feedback was super valid. If we ever revisit this game, sound effects will be high on our list of priorities. The enemy AI is also a bit janky.
Thanks again!
The game is cool, it's fun, although sometimes I've noticed that the jump is too big. It would be nice to have a bit more control; however, it's quite enjoyable to play. Great job ^^
Thank you for checking it out and leaving feedback.
I think key tutorial was a little too much. You put they keys in page, in game and that was already enough.
Instead of that part fixing the AI would be much better of time usage. Enemies were landing on top of my head and was killing me from there with no chance to shake them off.
Map part was good but I could not finish the game because could not pass Arena. Maybe game was also FPS bound but not sure I need to watch some game play footage.
Thank you for checking it out!
Nice game! I was Not expecting the perspective to change when leaving the village but it was welcome. Very retro feel but with some smooth and fast movement.
Thank you! We appreciate the kind words.
Really great game, great job! The running an jumping is so fun, I couldn't resist the temptation to just zip past the monsters without even stopping to fight them most of the time lol. And when I did fight them I kept getting those eyeball monsters stuck on my head, so I suppose I was better off just running away lol.
Thank you for taking the time to check the game out! Totally viable to just run past all the enemies. I'll have to go back and fix the enemies stuck on head glitch eventually lol.
Congratulations on the game
Thank you for checking it out!
Good job on getting so much content in your game, also the music was great! Smart to include two sets of controls too, allowed me to play on my laptop without mouse although I did feel it was probably slightly easier with a mouse.
Thank you for checking it out! I like including the two sets of controls as while I vastly prefer WASD and a mouse, I know some folks (including I believe my design partner) don't play with one.
Everything feels pretty good! I would just suggest maybe adding some kind of transitions fx (including to the background melodies, which are very good)
Thank you! We greatly appreciate the feedback.
I audibly chuckled when it switched to the overhead map view and Dale was a lizard or more of one than he normally is. Great work on making the Dale feel fast but not to the point of where I felt like I lost control of him. Sometime enemies would stand on my head and I wouldn't take damage but I saved the village! Great Work!
Thank you for taking the time to check the game out! I should look into that head jumping bug once the rating period is over. I am glad you found the speed good.
You're literally my father. This is the most impressive game I've ever played. Thank you, and thank Dale. Will never forget this.
Thank you from us and Dale! We are glad you enjoyed the game.
