Love the little detail such as collection of dust around player's feet when he is moving. All of the platformer aspects is just perfectly balanced that me as a player felt an eagerness to keep pushing forward. And of course, it's made with Godot! ❤️

Developer

Thank you! I'm really glad that it was enjoyable to play and I appreciate you taking the time to give it a try! Godot has been great so far I have really been enjoying figuring out how to make games with it!

People usually underestimate the difficult of doing an enjoyable platform game with smooth controls and good distances and balancing... and you achieved that! :) Also, I think the level selection emthod is very innovative. I think, maybe, you could add some replayable-factor if you make the levels mutually exclusive, and you can only chose a path to reach a final level.
Overall, this is very well done and I think you should improve and expand it :)

Thank you very much! I certainly learned a lot of new things during this game jam! That is a great point of adding replay value to the game with your suggestion and it is definitely something I would like to include, I will look into it! Thanks very much for playing my game and for your feedback!

Interesting game! The thrilling 2D platform adventure captivated me with its classic inspiration and ingenious level design. Choosing my own path through the enigmatic cave was exhilarating. Skillfully timing jumps to evade traps and adversaries added an exciting challenge. The game smartly escalates in difficulty, blending unpredictability with skill. It's an engaging journey back to the daylight!

Developer

Thank you very much! I really appreciate you for giving the game a try and leaving an encouraging review. I'm glad it was enjoyable!

This game reminds me of playing Giana Sisters on the Commodore Amiga. I also sucked at that game :P
The randomized map is a fun addition and making your own sprites always deserves more kudos than using existing art so nice job !

Developer

Thank you very much for trying it out! I appreciate the kind words and I'll be taking that good spirit into the development of bigger and better projects!

Neat! I really like the concept of selecting the next level to play on a grid! Also, I like the simplicity of the art in general. Overall great job!

Thank you very much! The next level grid and creating my own sprites was a good challenge for me and I'm glad that it made the game more enjoyable. Thank you for trying it out!

This is a very nice game with solid controls. I like how the platforming feels just right and I never had an issue with the movement while I was playing. There is also a variety of levels which keeps things interesting. Overall I had a lot of fun playing this game! (Made it out after exploring 63%)

Developer

Nice! Seems like you might have good cave escaping instincts!! Thank you very much for trying it out!

It was a good game. The difficulty was not that much, but I liked it. If you had worked on the theme better the game would be excellent, but I see how the player "scales" from the cave to reach daylight.

Developer

Thank you for trying it out! I agree it would be nice to bring more of the theme into it. Thanks for your feedback!

That elevator level was tough, but I managed to reach daylight. I think you demonstrated a pretty solid understanding of good platforming in this game. Not overly punishing, good use of SFX and effects like the dust getting kicked up when the player runs. More enemies/obstacles and pushing your pixel art skills even further is imo your way forward toward creating the next Spelunky! Thanks for the game, I had fun.

Developer

Thanks very much for the feedback and for playing! I really appreciate it. I'm excited to keep working on pixel art, enemies and other game mechanics to continue to improve!

Good plataformer, I’d make the camera move less, I felt a little bit dizzy.

After exploring 96% of the cave, I have to say that the outside is pretty boring compared to the cave! No missiles trying to make a kebab of you, no angry spiky turtle trying to make you feel as much pain as stepping on a lego, it's just plain old outside!

Jokes aside, I really liked this simple platformer, and had fun going through all the levels. I thought the levels were pretty varied and was able to go through them pretty easily. Dying wasn't a huge setback which was a relief. Controls felt a tiny bit stiff but otherwise I really enjoyed this little game! Great job!!
